Hummus bowl with fresh vegetables (tomato, cucumber, red onion) and olive oil. They are generous with their pita bread.

This is the most incredible hummus I've ever tasted! I've visited this place twice in just two days, and each time I couldn't get enough of their amazing hummus bowl. You can immediately tell it's made fresh--silky smooth, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. I'm genuinely wowed by the friendly customer service, the joyful atmosphere among the cooks, and their genuine appreciation for customers. If you love Mediterranean cuisine, you HAVE to visit this spot on Hampton Roads. Anyone eager to explore Mediterranean flavors should rush here right now!

Driving down Hampton blvd after work and needed a place to make my back bigger and I definitely found the spot. Pulling up you can tell it's a newer restaurant in the shopping center. Place was a decent size and clean. Service was also good. Answered all my questions and made great suggestions. I went with the falafel, lamb shawarma platter, and mint lemonade. The mint lemonade was brought out first because they make the falafel to order. One sip and it was over for that drink. Delicious was an understatement. That one got finished and had to order another one to go. The falafel with the garlic sauce was on point as well. You can tell they were fresh and made with care. The lamb shawarma platter came with rice, lamb, taziki, spicy sauce, salad, humus, and pita bread. The whole bowl was bomb. Everything complimented each other. I couldn't stop eating it. I can see this being a once a week spot for me. If you are anywhere near the area, drop in and don't forget the mint lemonade!!

Hummus with chicken shawarma and pita and 5pc falafel. Tahini sauce and garlic sauce on the side.

Lovely people watching, yet it's not so loud that table conversation of challenging. You'll notice that this is quick-ish dining. It's not fast-casual, but you're not waiting 30 minutes for your food. Expect at least 10 minutes for appetizers to arrive. Our entrees were ready in about 20, and the place was near capacity. The great thing about the wait? It was well worth it. Piping hot food, served with that homemade flavor arrives on dishes that almost match. I chuckled at the mismatched bowls that hit our table. I felt like family before my first bite. Meatloaf! I can't make one, but I'll eat one that is well made. Dense, flavorful and portioned to take some with you. My bonus was that I got my wife's leftovers, too. It was delicious! It was even better when I warmed it for lunch the next day. Traditional sides, worthy of their own review, but I'll keep it brief. Get the mashed potatoes! Send a thanks when you're full.

I'll start by saying this: I am not someone who typically writes reviews. In fact, I'm known among…read moremy friends and family as a very critical eater--some have even jokingly called me a food critic. So for me to take the time to write this says a lot. From the moment we walked into Oceanview Diner, we felt at home. There was an immediate warmth--like stepping into what America is supposed to feel like--people talking, laughing, and genuinely connecting over good food. The attention to detail was impossible to miss. Fresh-cut flowers sat on each table, adding a simple but thoughtful touch. Before our meals even arrived, we were served homemade herb focaccia with olive oil--an unexpected and appreciated gesture. And yes, even the water stood out. Being near the ocean, you often get that slightly earthy taste, but this water was clean, crisp, and clearly filtered. Now, the food. I ordered the Parmesan-crusted chicken with roasted potatoes and collard greens. The chicken was juicy (not dry at all) and cooked perfectly--something that sounds simple but is rarely executed this well. The collards were good, though I personally would've liked just a touch more salt and a splash of vinegar to bring them fully to life. My partner ordered the fried flounder with asparagus and mashed potatoes and had nothing but praise. Not a single morsel was left on the plate, which tells you everything you need to know. Oceanview Diner delivered not just a meal, but an experience rooted in care, pride, and hospitality. Thank you for an amazing visit--continued success to you, and a huge job well done to the kitchen staff.

Stopped in for a Togo order had a drink at the bar while I waited. Staff is always friendly. Had to…read morelaugh cause one of the waitresses was new and asked for a drink menu bartender said they threw them away.... HUH??? What chu mean so we don't do signature drinks we just do rando's I'm done. OK, so I normally don't edit my post after I post them but this one I definitely had to edit my post so I eat like a bird anybody that knows who knows that so my daughter always gets the same thing from Chili's the old timer so I noticed that the three for me had the appetizer which suits my my bird like pigs the Alzheimer would fit her and her drink so as I'm talking to the young lady at the Togo counter, I said for the starter I would like a baked potato old timer just cheese no side salad the lettuce none of that fries she places to order drink boom Pepsi no ice I said hey can I add the white cheddar mac & cheese? Wanna try it place the order pay for it as I'm waiting like I always do I go to the bar I get a drink cause that's what I do. Young lady brings the bag out. I finish my drink. I tipped the bartender pay for my drink. Take the bag go to the car. We drive home. My daughter brings me my mac & cheese and I'm like where's my baked potato she said all you got was cheese and according to the receipt, all you got was the mac & cheese no, I specifically know my verbiage hey can I add when you say can you add what does that mean? That means an add-on that doesn't mean instead of or replace of those are words to replace or instead of I'mma eat chilies to get somebody that pays attention to their customers now I'm pissed because I really wanted to baked potato. The mac & cheese was just a test run which was way too salty so now I know my blood pressure is gonna be through the roof because that was sodium loaded not happy even though the banter at the bar was entertaining now I got back my stars down. I'm pissed.

Well, this was our first visit to this location and we were not disappointed. I looked at…read moreprevious reviews and I have to say our visit was nothing like others. We visited during the lunch rush. I'd say during our stay the location stayed about 70% or more full. Sorry, no pictures, but the wifey and I both had one of the 3 for deals. Drink, burger and fries for $10.99. The burger was done well and tasted good. Same with the fries. Now I will say the fries serving size was a bit small but again it was a $10.99 meal. Total bill was just under $25. As for the service. Our server (I think her name was JJ) was really good and I saw her bust her tail for our entire stay. I'm not sure how many tables she was working. But she checked on us several times and made sure we had refills on our sweet teas. Again she did a great job. As for the location: It's a bit older but it seemed to be clean. So again. We had a nice experience. I hope you also have a decent meal.

We just came to try the food. We ordered Catfish with fries and dirty rice, Cajun pasta with sausage, the ziggy wings on special (75 cents on Wednesday), and the cornbread basket. The cornbread was delicious no notes on that. 10/10. The wings were over cooked and just tasted old overall they had good flavor but not enough for me to want to continue to eat them 4/10. We were only charged for one wing when we got our bill so I'm not sure if that was a mistake or they knew that the wings were bad and did not charge us accordingly. The pasta was solid, creamy with good flavor I'd give the pasta about a 7 or 8/10. The catfish was good it was fried well and nicely seasoned I enjoyed it and would give it an 8.5/10. The fries were very yummy and well seasoned. I am looking forward to having them again 9/10. The rice was just okay I'd give it about a 7/10. Overall I'd recommend this spot if you like Cajun flavors and/or would like a good late night bite option. I would like to try their po boy in the future.
