Amazing customer service from the time you walk in until the time you leave. Reasonably priced. Food was flavorful and fresh ingredients. Around 10tables w chairs. Highly recommend giving this place a go

Hummus bowl with fresh vegetables (tomato, cucumber, red onion) and olive oil. They are generous with their pita bread.

This is the most incredible hummus I've ever tasted! I've visited this place twice in just two days, and each time I couldn't get enough of their amazing hummus bowl. You can immediately tell it's made fresh--silky smooth, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. I'm genuinely wowed by the friendly customer service, the joyful atmosphere among the cooks, and their genuine appreciation for customers. If you love Mediterranean cuisine, you HAVE to visit this spot on Hampton Roads. Anyone eager to explore Mediterranean flavors should rush here right now!

Driving down Hampton blvd after work and needed a place to make my back bigger and I definitely found the spot. Pulling up you can tell it's a newer restaurant in the shopping center. Place was a decent size and clean. Service was also good. Answered all my questions and made great suggestions. I went with the falafel, lamb shawarma platter, and mint lemonade. The mint lemonade was brought out first because they make the falafel to order. One sip and it was over for that drink. Delicious was an understatement. That one got finished and had to order another one to go. The falafel with the garlic sauce was on point as well. You can tell they were fresh and made with care. The lamb shawarma platter came with rice, lamb, taziki, spicy sauce, salad, humus, and pita bread. The whole bowl was bomb. Everything complimented each other. I couldn't stop eating it. I can see this being a once a week spot for me. If you are anywhere near the area, drop in and don't forget the mint lemonade!!

Hummus with chicken shawarma and pita and 5pc falafel. Tahini sauce and garlic sauce on the side.

It has been nearly three weeks; I can stop thinking about No Frill Bar and Grill…read more I'm a military spouse, so I know my time in Hampton Roads is coming to an end soon. I visited a Hampton Roads Restaurant group on FB and asked if someone was visiting from out of town: What is your go-to place to take them? Out of 90+ comments, No Frill Bar and Grill was mentioned the most - six times! So when I finally had a day off and some other business to tend to in Norfolk, it was the perfect excuse to finally try them. No Frill Bar and Grill has been open for nearly 30 years by Jerry Meltsner. Jerry's nephew Jon Kliner helps co-own and manage operations. It originally opened on Tidewater Drive, but the space didn't allow for much growth - 10 years later, he moved to a location off Colley Avenue and Spotswood Avenue. Growth continued, moving from counter service to table service. The second location, at 1620 Laskin Road in Virginia Beach, opened in 2005. The restaurant's longevity stems from quality, consistency, price, service, and staff who genuinely care about the business and serving the community. I asked the server for her opinion on two options - Salmon, Shrimp and grits won. The dish was incredible: lightly blackened salmon, for once blackened food that doesn't just taste like salt. I don't dine with the swine, so I asked for no andouille sausage. The sautéed shrimp, caramelized onions, tomatoes, and spinach simmered in Norfolk Canyon ale sauce over cheesy grits and Boursin lavash cracker. The cheesy grits were smooth, and the Boursin lavash cracker was a nice touch. The Boursin added extra creaminess to the meal. The cracker wasn't really a cracker - more like little toasted bread. After this first meal, I know two things for sure: 1. I definitely understand why it is such a local favorite, and 2. I will be back.

The service is always great and the hosts/servers are always friendly. Our go to is the meatloaf. when you're looking for a good ol' comfort food - that's the best. She gave us one of the best experiences at a restaurant in a really long time. Food was amazing, we had the brisket sandwhich which hushpuppies and green beans. Absolutely no complaints about the food. Riley also recommended the Jamaican lizard, which was the perfect touch to our dinner and so delicious. Truly recommend if you are looking for a place with good food and drinks

I was curious about barbecue in Norfolk so we got some takeout from The Fishin' Pig…read more I decided to get the fried green tomatoes and the beef brisket platter with extra brisket (because two people were sharing), collard greens, and green beans. I had a few allergy-related questions and was able to get answers quickly because the cashier checked with the kitchen. Unfortunately my questions were focused on dairy so we were surprised by the bacon on the beans and other meat (probably pork) under the collard greens. My husband doesn't eat pork so he ended up only eating the beef. The cashier said the order would only take about ten minutes so I enjoyed a quick drink at the bar while waiting. If we get a chance to return I'll probably get the fried green tomatoes and just beef brisket (no sides).

I'll start by saying this: I am not someone who typically writes reviews. In fact, I'm known among…read moremy friends and family as a very critical eater--some have even jokingly called me a food critic. So for me to take the time to write this says a lot. From the moment we walked into Oceanview Diner, we felt at home. There was an immediate warmth--like stepping into what America is supposed to feel like--people talking, laughing, and genuinely connecting over good food. The attention to detail was impossible to miss. Fresh-cut flowers sat on each table, adding a simple but thoughtful touch. Before our meals even arrived, we were served homemade herb focaccia with olive oil--an unexpected and appreciated gesture. And yes, even the water stood out. Being near the ocean, you often get that slightly earthy taste, but this water was clean, crisp, and clearly filtered. Now, the food. I ordered the Parmesan-crusted chicken with roasted potatoes and collard greens. The chicken was juicy (not dry at all) and cooked perfectly--something that sounds simple but is rarely executed this well. The collards were good, though I personally would've liked just a touch more salt and a splash of vinegar to bring them fully to life. My partner ordered the fried flounder with asparagus and mashed potatoes and had nothing but praise. Not a single morsel was left on the plate, which tells you everything you need to know. Oceanview Diner delivered not just a meal, but an experience rooted in care, pride, and hospitality. Thank you for an amazing visit--continued success to you, and a huge job well done to the kitchen staff.

What chu mean so we don't do signature drinks we just do rando's I'm done. OK, so I normally don't edit my post after I post them but this one I definitely had to edit my post so I eat like a bird anybody that knows who knows that so my daughter always gets the same thing from Chili's the old timer so I noticed that the three for me had the appetizer which suits my my bird like pigs the Alzheimer would fit her and her drink so as I'm talking to the young lady at the Togo counter, I said for the starter I would like a baked potato old timer just cheese no side salad the lettuce none of that fries she places to order drink boom Pepsi no ice I said hey can I add the white cheddar mac & cheese? Wanna try it place the order pay for it as I'm waiting like I always do I go to the bar I get a drink cause that's what I do. Young lady brings the bag out. I finish my drink. I tipped the bartender pay for my drink. Take the bag go to the car. We drive home. My daughter brings me my mac & cheese and I'm like where's my baked potato she said all you got was cheese and according to the receipt, all you got was the mac & cheese no, I specifically know my verbiage hey can I add when you say can you add what does that mean? That means an add-on that doesn't mean instead of or replace of those are words to replace or instead of I'mma eat chilies to get somebody that pays attention to their customers now I'm pissed because I really wanted to baked potato. The mac & cheese was just a test run which was way too salty so now I know my blood pressure is gonna be through the roof because that was sodium loaded not happy even though the banter at the bar was entertaining now I got back my stars down. I'm pissed.

We visited during the lunch rush. I'd say during our stay the location stayed about 70% or more full. Sorry, no pictures, but the wifey and I both had one of the 3 for deals. Drink, burger and fries for $10.99. The burger was done well and tasted good. Same with the fries. Now I will say the fries serving size was a bit small but again it was a $10.99 meal. Total bill was just under $25. As for the service. Our server (I think her name was JJ) was really good and I saw her bust her tail for our entire stay. I'm not sure how many tables she was working. But she checked on us several times and made sure we had refills on our sweet teas. Again she did a great job. As for the location: It's a bit older but it seemed to be clean. So again. We had a nice experience. I hope you also have a decent meal.
