I wish I had taken a picture of it because the other pics on Yelp don't do it justice. It was a lot of food too. The hummus was creamy and everyone loved it. They also brought out a delicious baklava for my birthday. Everyone I took with me enjoyed their food as well and we all ordered different entrees. The inside was nice and clean and the service was great. Will absolutely go back soon!

Located in Hilltop Plaza, this Mediterranean restaurant immediately makes you feel like you've stepped into a different place. The decor, music, and even the food products they have at the counter really add to the atmosphere. We were immediately greeted, helped, and seated. The service was impeccable. Our waitress checked in on us the perfect amount. She was attentive without being overbearing. I ordered the baba ghanoush and the beef kebab platter, and both were really good! I'll admit I've had better, which is why I'm giving this place 4 stars, but overall, I had a great experience. The food, atmosphere, and service definitely make this a place I'll be coming back to!

He did offer his apologies more than once because it seemed a guy like me sitting alone in the corner was almost an afterthought. He did explain the soups ... I went for the chicken soip and had already decided on the beef schwarma. The chicken soup was reminiscent of a good Jewish Deli chicken soup with enough goodies in the broth and big chunks of chicken yet the broth was the star. The schwarma was really good too. Somewhat different than others I have enjoyed but different in a good sense A small container of food tasting hummus completed the meal At check out ... well with more than one set of apologies I was an afterthought.

We got the chicken gyro, chicken tawook, and beef gyros. I also ordered a side of rice and tatziki with pita chips. The prices are very reasonable.. I went and waited in the car. The food was ready in about 8 minutes and the gentlemen brought it out to my car, which was very nice. I liked the chicken gyro. It was different textures because of the toppings with a good taste and crunch. The chicken tawook was also good. I liked the beef as well, it was tender and the sauce on it was good. The hummas and tzatziki sauce tasted good also. It made the gyros better. I like that the gyros are rolled kinda long and thin so its easy to eat without everything spilling out. You could easily eat it and drive. The rice was cooked just right. It had no flavor at all, but it was somehow still good... I'd return to try other things. If your looking to try some different foods, this is a good place to try... I got some drinks and a few were good, but one was to sweet. I had fun picking out random things to try though. 4 stars!!

We've loved it, quite literally. But after today and sheer number of problems, we doubt we would ever return, and that's very sad to us. We went after church. We were the ONLY customers there. I saw them doing a Door Dash order or two, but basically it was just us, a party of 4. One server working the floor. Our order. Wife got the beef-souvlaki Greek salad. Daughter a Greek gyro. Son a 16" pizza half pepperoni half grilled chicken. Me a 16" supreme pizza. I even talked to the server about "supreme" and she was like yeah, oh yeah, I got you, I know what that is. And I said I really like heavy toppings, especially the olives and mushrooms. I heard her literally go tell the cooks that. She returns to tell me they have NO ONIONS TODAY! What else for my pizza. Disappointed, no onion? It's Noon on a Sunday and we are the only customers. Ok, sub with tomato. Daughter loved her gyro. She said best ever. She doesn't like opinions, so it's perfect, she didn't have to pick them off. She loved it. Wife gets her souvlaki- beef Greek salad. NO ONIONS. She didn't tell her that. My wife wants those darn onions on a salad, to be sure. But wait, wait... also no Feta cheese at all on this Greek salad. But wait, there's more. The beef, every piece, is so tough, it's like tire rubber. Truly. None of us can chew it up. Literally, it's THAT bad. You're telling me the cooks didn't know it was tire rubber??? My pizza. Smelled good. But, very very SPARSE toppings! I asked for extra. I heard her tell them extra. Nope, just a light sprinkling of veggies. Darn. BUT WAIT! This Supreme had exactly ZERO meats. Zero. And just a light sprinkling of before toppings. My son's pizza? Half pep, half CHEESE. WHERE'S THE GRILLED CHICKEN??!?!? And the waitress is very unattentive, playing on her phone, not looking at us. Very hard to get my drink refills. I finally waive a cook over, the server is still on her phone. I said the pizza was supposed to have grilled chicken, and the beef on the salad was tire rubber, 100% inedible, replace with chicken, please. So they grilled some chicken up and brought it for the pizza and another salad for my wife. Still no feta cheese. Stayed tuned folks, the best is yet to come. The chicken made the pizza much better. My wife was already put off by the tire rubber beef they actually served her, and no onion and feta on a Greek salad. She just wanted to run the heck out of that place. But wait.... The coup de gras. While picking through the lettuce on her salad, we found a BABY COCKROACH , yep, alive and crawling around. We were about to go ballistic with all these screwups, and I just decided to not complain, and to never return, and voice it in a Yelp review, so others are aware Papa's Greek has come off the tracks, and needs to find its self again....... They were lost as lost can be today.

And I just got a salad and appetizer. I've never had Turkish food before, so take my review with that in mind...but IT WAS SO GOOD. This was the best hummus I've ever had. It was so....just, flavorful. And fresh. I could tell someone MADE it with their own two hands. The baba ghanoush had a nice smokey flavor, the lebni tasted just like tzatziki except better...vibrant. The pita was nice and warm. The dolma rolled tight and stuffed well (I really wanted more than 2, but wasn't going to be greedy and order another whole side of it...rookie mistake. Won't happen again). The salad was also strangely delicious. I mean it was just a salad...but the walnuts, the mixed greens, the dries cranberries, the feta, carrots, apple....it all went together so incredibly well. It's not something I usually order, but I really wanted some veggies and this gave me exactly what I needed. I sorta feel like I gave myself a B12 shot. This was also my first time having Turkish coffee. I'll admit, I googled how to drink it cause I was confused by the little "pebbles" that came on the side. Yeah, nah, those are chocolates. And when you take a sip of the hot, kinda bitter coffee and then eat a chocolate?! Yes, please! You know it's gonna be strong when they bring out a tiny serving of it, too. Perfect way to end my meal. (Also, your entire mouth will absolutely burst into flames if you try the coffee as soon as it's delivered. Do yourself a favor and order it with the rest of your meal, let it sit covered while you eat, and then drink it at the end. If you're new here, like I am, you're welcome.) I came in about an hour after they opened, so it was empty (more people came in as I was eating and finishing my meal). The seating was very comfortable, the wait staff was helpful and attentive. There's some cute decorations around the room that made me want to ask questions about the culture, but, again....too busy eating. Now that I'm gone and writing this, I wish I'd given them a bigger tip. My tip wasn't small, but it also didn't adequately express how much I really enjoyed that meal. I hope more people try this place out and keep it in business for a long time. I realize I ordered probably the most basic thing you can get: a salad and a plate of dips lol but man it was all just so good. Next time I'll go for a couple dishes that I'm not sure how to pronounce. THANK YOU FOR FEEDING ME!

The lahmacun was incredible, one of the best I have ever tasted out of hundreds of Turkish restaurants I tried all over the states, the perfect dough thickness, softness and crisps, the fresh meat with seasoned spices just right. The Adana kabob was delicious. Ending with the hot Turkish coffee served in the traditional tray presentation was cherry on the top. I highly recommend you experience this great place for a flavourful dinner experience to enjoy at Virginia beach.

Two of my co-workers and I had a lovely lunch here at Shawarma Shack. I can only say why did it…read moretake me so long to discover this restaurant. This small place delivers big flavor. Actually, there is ample seating, but I can see it being overwhelmed on a busy Saturday. Before your first visit, you would benefit by looking at the menu beforehand. We were warmly greeted. You let the counter server know what you want and they make your creation in front of you. They'll ask if you want it to go or to eat in and they will serve accordingly. One coworker ordered a wrap and wolfed it down so fast - it must have been delicious. I didn't get a chance to ask what he had. My other co-worker ordered the beef and lamb bowl with a base of mixed greens, adding onions, cucumbers, feta cheese, and tzatziki sauce. He also shared his hummus and pita chips with us. The hummus is exactly what you would expect - creamy and seasoned perfectly. The chips were a tiny bit oily, but I wasn't complaining. The texture - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside - made you want to eat a big bag of them. I ordered the beef and lamb bowl with a base of yellow rice. They were generous with both. For my toppings, I chose pickled red cabbage, tomatoes, and feta cheese. For the sauces, I chose tzatziki and tahini. Every forkful was a tasty, savory bite. It was all so yummy and fresh. I was eating faster than normal because it was just so good and forced myself to slow down. All the flavors complemented each other. I could have gorged myself and finished that bowl but asked for a lid so I could take my leftovers home. I can't wait to repeat that scrumptious journey. For my next visit, I will ask for less rice and more red cabbage. As an eggplant lover, I would love to try their baba ganoush (plus it's so fun to say baba ganoush). For the typical working lunch, it's not inexpensive (with can soda, mine came out to $22.38) compared to fast food. But it's worth it and you are worth it. You are getting large portions of quality food that will make your mouth sing. I'd gladly bring in a sandwich from home twice a week in order to eat here. This gem is such a great addition to the restaurant scene here. Please stop by and try their dishes. If you enjoy it - spread the word so others can enjoy it too. You will not be disappointed. I can't wait to come back. It might be tomorrow . . .
