Maybe it was a gimmick to get us to spend more money, and pretend that she didn't hear us. Anyways, we finally sat down and got our nails painted. The lady that did mine was named Daisy I think, and she made my cuticles bleed, but did a more accurate job than my sisters... The owner of the salon, her name is Rainbow, and while she was friendly and talkative, seemed to brag about her salon, and it was such a turn off to me, to be honest...she was too chatty, and her service and quality in her nail technicians did not deliver... My sister's nail tech did the sloppy multi-coat job where you can clearly see the first, second and third layer and lines near the cuticle line...instead of doing it correctly, she left visible uneven polish lines on her nails... We weren't too happy with our experience here so we probably won't be returning...call it high standard, being picky, it's hard to find decent nail salons and techs these days. They do over referral incentives on Wednesday and Thursday and have a rewards program for earning points which is nice...

Popular is located in a great shopping center at an easy to get to location. Lots of parking available! When you enter, there are several attendants ready to assist with your service or you can enter your phone number in the small screen on the counter and input your requested services there. We were quickly taken to our chairs to start our pedicures and offered a menu. At Popular, cocktails are included (one of the reasons it's my friends favorite). Warning - the pink panther is strong and sweet! The technician giving my pedicure was kind and attentive to me throughout my process. I decided on both colors for my mani and pedi; I noticed for the color I chose for my pedicure that they gave me a color that was very similar but not the one I picked; it was a different number. I asked about it, but if I hadn't asked, they weren't going to tell me. For my manicure, the gentleman wasn't very friendly. He got polish under my fingers and cleaned them with a nail file once I showed him, but didn't acknowledge it. I also wasn't offered a cushion for my manicure, so spent the duration with my hands pulled to my right side on the arm rest, which made my neck hurt by the end. I didn't think anything of it until noticed everyone around me with one except me; not a big deal if I didn't hurt my neck, but it did. As part of the package we purchased, it came with an 8 minute leg massage for the pedicure and 5 minute neck massage for the manicure. The technicians asked me if I wanted the massage together or separate, which confused me. I thought they meant both at the same time. I told them together, which ended up meaning I received a 13 minute leg massage and no neck massage. I should have asked more, but felt this was misleading. I would definitely give Popular another chance, but this particular visit was not 5 stars for me.

One thing I want to point out is you should always call the store or text Ms. Kim to schedule an appointment or check if they're busy before "walking in". If you walk in without checking ahead, you take a chance and might have to wait for a while if they're all busy (some techs might have taken off bc they didn't have customers earlier in the day) or they simply already have customers scheduled to come in soon.
