We drove all the way out from LA area to check out their showroom. However, once we arrived there was a lady in her car and she asked my fiancé "are you here for the calrep?" & once my fiancé said "yes," she said "oh sorry, we're closed" and proceeded to immediately drive off in her BMW. Last year, I ordered 13 Windows, a sliding door and patio French doors from them. I liked their service and price and things seemed to be going well. They gave me a 4-6 week delivery expectation. Two weeks later they called me and told me it would be 10-12 weeks due to Covid. Annoyed, but was ok, had to delay our painter buytwo months, but it all worked out. As things were going, they provided updates and status. We decided we wanted new front doors as well and asked them for a quote, we also got a quote from other location and asked them to match. They said yes. The told me up front it would be 10-12 weeks. Ok, so did the other guys. So at least the expectation was there. Finally, in Nov, our door was installed. When I got home, I noticed the Dutch door latch was missing and things were out of alignment. They had someone out the next week to add the latch, he told me that the manufacturer doesn't like them to do the realignment, but then proceeded to do it anyway. Now I know why, it was even worse. I called and let them know. They sent out their master installer, he couldn't fix it and took pictures for the manufacturer. A few weeks go by, no contact. I call my sales guy and ask him to come see it (Dec 23). He comes out and says that we'll need a new door and took more pictures for the manufacturer. I also showed him issues with the sliding door and patio door, A month goes by, the manufacturer calls me, we play phone tag for a week. Manufacturer comes out, says that he could see there were some manufacturing issues, but also install issues that can't be fixed. Now 3 people have told me I need a new door. But wait, his boss has to come out and see it too! So 2 weeks later his boss comes out and says, yup needs a new door. This was now late Feb. GUESS WHAT?!?! 10-12 weeks!! In the man time, my whole house had been painted and we redid the entire front yard and driveway. The only thing screwing up beautiful curb appeal is the primered and unfinished front door. In April, I asked if there was a delivery date yet and asked about the issues with my sliding door and patio door. Was told they still don't have a delivery date and that I should get a service date in the next week. A month goes by with no contact, we are now at more than 12 weeks. I emailed again last week, asked about my service date and delivery date. No response. I called the office, as usual, front desk is clueless, can't help, but told I'd get a call back. Pat came to our house to measure our windows for the in home estimate. We have 22 windows and a slider so this took about 2 hours. Pat was very detailed in describing all our options , and he did not try to force us into any product. We needed some casement windows (crank to open), some stationary windows, and some slider windows. Pat emailed our estimate to us within the 24 hours which he said he would. We had one other company that had the same product. Our estimate came in $2000 less with California Replacement Windows. He also informed us that orders were taking about a month and he would get us an install date in a couple weeks. Once we had the install date, that never changed. Our install date was July 14. Art, Hugo, and their nephew (we did not get his name) showed up around 9 am. Due to the amount of windows they informed us this was a 2 day job. They set up the mats and covered all furniture in the rooms they worked in. They installed about 14 windows the first day. They asked permission to leave tools and the extra windows in the garage which was not a problem. They cleaned up so well that you couldn't even tell they were here. The next day they finished installing all the windows and finished all the fine details like caulking and trimming. Once again they cleaned up. All windows were installed perfectly and the attention to detail was amazing. I would 100% recommend California Replacement Windows. Pat was so professional and knowledgable as were the instal team. All I can say is WOW! I live in a condominium that was built in the 70's with original windows. I dreamt of getting new windows, but knew they could be costly. After asking my neighbors, I made contact with 10 companies. Of the 10, 5 responded. Of the 5, 3 showed up for their scheduled appointment time. The 1 that stood out was Cal Rep. They were on time, courteous, and honest!!! Their representative (Michael) was super friendly. The office staff kept me up to date (Karen, Samantha...I'm sure there were more). The installers were so hard working and speedy ( Rafael, Rafael, and Irvin). And the cherry on it all...you were the most affordable. My windows look and sound fantastic! We had a new Milgard high-end slider installed 10/20. The Rep, Pat who came out was very nice and informative. The door came as scheduled and all was fine for a few months. About December/January the main slider started to knock when opening and closing. I called and the woman who answered said the door was probably bent and they would call back to set a time to come and fix the door. A few weeks pass and still no call. I called again for an update and the woman again said they would call back with a schedule. I asked when would I get the call. She tells me the doors are on backorder and they are waiting on the manufacturer. Why couldn't the first woman have told me that? I get covid, but be open and transparent! So I called back 2 more times for updates and finally was able to get an appointment booked to replace the door on 3/23/21. The crew of 4 who replaced the door were mostly young kids. None of them showed up wearing a mask. The one blond kid stood around chatting it up with his co-workers doing nothing to help with the install. Very unprofessional. Now we are having an issue with the screen door unlocking when trying to open it. The locking latch was drilled in too high so the slide hits the latch instead of clearing it. We have had to remove the latch in order to open the door, should we need to exit quickly. Same shitty customer service, I called, let them know what was going back and they need to pull the file and will call back to schedule a date. I had also scanned in a letter dated Oct 1, 2020, from a Julianna McCann (I'll assume this was you) stating, in part, "Effective Sept 30, 2020, we merged all sales from our FV location to our main facility in Anaheim and have closed the FV location." I don't believe the "company" we bought the slider from went out of business but closed a location they owned and operated. And yes, that "company", California Replacements, should honor a repair on a brand new slider still under warrantee. I do not have time to go through my phone records and pull out exactly what number I called and the exact date and time but I know I called your Anaheim location and spoke to a female in January several times, as I have the notes. What I appreciate as a customer of any business is clarity. The clarity to know a part is being ordered and how long it might take to arrive. I do not appreciate a "We'll call you back" response and then a week(s) go by with no update on my order. This happened in January and then again on June 16th. Sandy did not tell me she ordered a part on the 16th. Had she, I would have told her not to and re-explained the issue to have a tech scheduled to come out. Bu this didn't happen. I asked her when she would get back to me and a date or time or approximate date and time was not given. However, I put up a not-so-good review and 20 minutes after you call me. We scheduled Tony to come and fix the door. This didn't happen on the June 16th call with Sandy and it should have. Again, thank you for assisting to fix the issue. Summary: We are very pleased with the work CalRep Windows did to replace our home's 25 year old windows along with replacing a huge sliding glass door with a smaller one. We definitely recommend contacting them if you need to get your windows replaced! Details: Cal Rep was one of three places we contacted regarding getting our seven windows and one sliding glass door replaced. Each place sent someone out to visit us at our house in order to give us a quote, however of the three people who visited only Jimmy Jiminez with CalRep took the time to truly listen to our questions and determine what we wanted instead of going straight into a sales pitch telling us what *they* thought we would want. Bonus: He was prepared and had his mask on before we even opened the door to greet him. Jimmy was very patient with us as we went through many rounds of deciding on style, model, etc for the windows. The final cost was reasonable (lowest of all three we contacted). Jimmy estimated four weeks to get the windows from when we placed the down payment and that's how long it took. The day that the windows were replaced Rafael, Libo, and Johnathon arrived on time. They completed all the work in one day which was impressive considering that the new sliding glass door was smaller than the old one so they needed to build up the new wall area (including frame up, insulation, drywall, putting texture on the drywall, adding stucco on the outside, etc). They did forget about the new baseboard but arranged to come back to add it at a later date for no additional cost. The only thing they didn't do was paint (either inside or out), however this was not a surprise as Jimmy had told us about that up front. We were especially pleased that the workers listened to us and took the time to replace our bedroom window first so we could then isolate all our pets (and ourselves as well) in a single area while the rest of the work was done. The workers did a good job isolating the work being done on the windows from the rest of the house which meant we didn't need to do much vacuuming or dusting afterwards. When I called for service this morning my info was taken down and was assured a callback. I did get a call back however, upon the returned call I was told they would not honor the warranty that it was done through a now closed location that used to be in Laguna HiIls. I was told that it was probably the caulk and I should do the job myself. UPDATE... they called me back and told me they would honor the warranty that someone would be scheduled to come out as soon as the weather clears/dry's up. We used their services to replace our patio door. What I like is that they had wide variety of options for us, which was great, and the price was fairly well and the sales person was really pleasant to work with, but worked with them to correct few invoicing details. The install was ok however, I was disappointed at the workers craftsmanship. First they used this really sticky and hard to paint over caulk. Also the reasoning to use clear versus white caulk made no sense to me at certain parts of the frame, but I didn't let it bother me because I was eventually going to paint over it. After they installed, I had to call out various areas where they didn't properly smooth out the caulk which I'm glad I did otherwise it was going to dry and look horrible. I mentioned to them why there was only one stopper where my previous door had two, and they said that that's what it came with. No big deal eventually I moved the stopper to the bottom part at least rather than the top where it was sticking out anyway. Then I noticed that the sliding door and screen door was rubbing pretty tight against the frame making it not as smooth, but again, they shift the blame on the weatherstripping, which is fine because of my logic is that eventually it will flatten out down the road and should slide smoother eventually. I did mention to them that when the screen door clips it's quite tough to push in. They didn't really address it and gave me more excuses trying to justify it. At that point I was just tired of excuses and just signed off that we can always address later on. I called them yesterday that I really need this addressed because I pretty much cracked my nail trying to close the screen door. The person on the phone was professional and said that they would get back to me however, this was really something that could be addressed quite quickly so I decided to resolve the issue myself by adjusting a few screws. Overall, I did appreciate that we found our options when it came to replacing the patio door and their office was very professional. However, I would think twice doing business with them again if this is the quality of their workmanship in the field. When you hire a professional, you should not be inspecting their work constantly and compromising to make things work. They should do the job right the first time as if this was their own home. read more

Overall I had an okay experience and might use them again if I had to. First I want to say the install guys did a great job and the product itself is impressive. We had Jimmy come out and give us an estimate on replacing almost ALL of our exterior doors and windows in our home. ~22 items worth. Cal Reps quote was surprisingly super competitive vs the other two companies we looked at. The first hitch was that Jimmy told me over voicemail the install would be happening on "x" day between 8-10am. It's a three day job. I had to get work off those days to accommodate, no big deal. 11am rolls around and they're nowhere to be seen. I call and it turns out they confused my install date with another customer with the same last name. So now I have to wait for the ACTUAL date and get get ANOTHER three days off work. Not cool. The other hitch was in one of the bedrooms, was supposed to be plain glass and a window with privacy glass was delivered. So now they have to come back in a few weeks to change out the mistake. Thirdly, one of the odd shaped windows is "out of stock", so they'll install that and change the privacy window later. Like I said, install guys and the installed doors and windows are awesome. They even finished a day ahead of schedule. Scheduling rubbed me the wrong way since the job was over $20k and time is money at work. 5 stars for the install. 3 stars for everything else. read more

My wife and I have been in our home for over twenty years. Last year we decided to do some upgrades to our home, including window replacement. We did our due diligence and after looking at way too many window companies, and talking to friends with way too many suggestions, we decided to have California Replacement Windows give us a bid. We were quite pleased with the quote to replace all of our 42 windows. We were told the windows would take about four weeks to be made, however they were ready in about two and a half weeks. We had them installed on July 2nd and 3rd, 2018 and we couldn't be happier with the entire installation process. Roger was the lead man with four assistants. All of them were professional in their work and interaction with my wife and me; they were extremely polite at all times. They covered nearby furniture with plastic, and they swept up and vacuumed the inevitable messes, including broken glass. These guys hauled away the old windows and frames and made it look like they were never here. The finished installed windows look absolutely great; we should have replaced them years ago! I would, and I will recommend this company to anyone interested in window replacement. They are fair, competitive in price and there are no hidden costs, or "difficult installation added charges." We had two Pella bay windows and needed to change out the windows themselves without changing the whole system. We first contacted Pella, their guy said we would have to change the whole system, that we couldn't change just the windows. We said that wasn't going to happen, we had tile we couldn't replace on the base of one window, and hardy board surrounds, freshly painted, on the exterior of the other. We told him that we would find someone who would do that. He said it couldn't be done, picked up his stuff, turned and walked away. When we put the request for bids on Yelp, a couple of the responses we got said they couldn't do it because it was Pella. Then we got a response from Cal Rep. When I spoke to the lady who called, I again told her that the system was Pella. She said it would not be a problem. The rep who came out to give us an estimate, again said no problem. Their estimate was very reasonable, by the way. The guy who came out to take the measurements also said it would not be a problem. Today, they came to install the new windows. We couldn't be more pleased. Their guys were prompt, efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. The windows look great, the casements operate perfectly, NO tiles broken or cracked. The windows look like they've always been there. In all, an excellent job! To help someone like me as I got so much help from Yelp, I'd like to share my experience. I chose CalRep b/c of its good customer reviews and the reviews are true. Michael Incavo, who answered my call for a free estimate and finished my project - 2 sliding doors, 3 sliding windows, is very trustworthy and responsive throughout the project period. It took 20 working days from free estimation to the installation in my condo, which I haven't moved in yet, and we basically communicated via emails. I am very satisfied by their work and they have good customer service! Mike gave me the best offer, discounting some hundred dollars, based on my other estimates. One of vertical blinds was broken during the installation, so I just reported it without asking some money back, but they discount another hundred dollar. They also offer life time warranty for labor and the material (of course from Milgard). I highly recommend this company for your project! read more

I cannot begin to tell you how incompetent this company really is. I ordered several windows and a large sliding glass door back in 2021. Upon installation I noticed several scratches on a couple of the windows. Months went by and they finally came out and replaced the scratched windows however they replaced the scratched windows with newly scratched windows. During the attempt to replace the scratch windows they dropped a very heavy glass pane on the PVC portion of my sliding glass door and damaged the sliding glass door frame. They replaced the door frame and installed another pain of window glass in the sliding glass door however it was scratched also. You have to understand that each time they came out and attempted a repair on the scratched windows or door frame it took several months for them to return to make the installation. I finally had to contact the manufacturer of the window's (Milgard) to see if could help resolve this ongoing problem. I mentioned to Milgard that Cal Replacement Windows blamed Milgard for all of the problems with the scratches on the windows. The owner will tell you one thing and the office workers will tell you something different. Simply put they have breeched the original contract they made with me when the owner came out and promised everything would go fine. It's now been almost one year and I still have not had this project completed. At this point and time I have decided to hire another installer and upon completion take Cal Replacement Windows to court to recover the losses that will be incurred. Do your self a favor and under no circumstances hire Cal Replacement Windows to do anything. Their incompetence is astonishing. How they stay in business is unbelievable.
