This was my first time with Callahan & the overall experience was mediocre. I called manufacture directly because appliance was still under the warranty. After giving & verifying all the information, including the warranty, I was told Callahan will contact me. I got a voicemail from Callahan stating that they would need some kind of paper work to proof appliance is still under the warranty otherwise I will incur charges for everything. I was surprised by this as manufacture already verified all the information & never told me that I will also need to provide some kind of hard copy to Callahan as well. I called Callahan back & Lori told me that they need a proof because manufacture requires that for them to get reimbursement. I was told appointment cannot be made unless I agree to pay out of pocket or provide documentation. I also found out that Callahan had no idea what the issue was with the appliance. I had to go all over with them. I thought everything was noted by the manufacture in detail & as I was told, should have forwarded to Callahan. I called back Callahan & this time talked with a different lady who sounded more reasonable. She told me I am not required to provide anything, in advance, if I am not comfortable but to expect a bill if there is any problem with payment. This sounded better to me & appointment was confirmed. Since I wanted everything to be taken care of in the first visit, I confirmed with the lady if they have all the information needed & that issue will be resolved right away & was told to expect that. Steve from Callahan showed up on time. He had mask on but he tried to enter the house with his dirty shoes without any cover! Didn't bother at all to ask whether that is fine with me or not. Doesn't he suppose to wear those shoes cover regardless because of the current pandemic? Not sure if it is not mandated by Callahan or Steve just being careless. I stopped him & he reluctantly took out his shoes. I clearly felt he didn't like that at all which I am not sure why. Right away I was asked to produce some kind of documentation as a proof regarding appliance's warranty. Exact opposite of what Callahan told me on the second call regarding documentation requirement. I showed whatever I had to just move on. Once this was done, Steve started to look at the appliance as he had no idea what he was coming for. He started to ask me questions about the issue. I was totally surprised by this as this would be the third time I had to go in detail regarding the problem. Then my worst fear came alive. Steve told me parts need to be ordered. As if I was not shocked enough, Steve told me the entire panel needs to be ordered instead of just the broken part. This was opposite to what I was also told by the manufacture that only the broken part will be replaced. When I questioned Steve on why not just replaced the broken part his entire attitude changed! He became rude & told me something along the lines of; he is the technician, knows what he is talking about, been doing it for so many years, not sure who told me what, etc. Obviously I wanted my appliance to be fixed as soon as possible so I didn't say much but didn't like his sudden change in attitude. Second visit from Steve turned out to be much better than his first. He wore mask & had shoe covers on. He was in a much better mood. Gave us some tip for the longevity of the appliance. Asked multiple times whether we have any questions or not and left. The only thing I would say regarding the second visit, which is nothing major, I thought Steve didn't come prepare. He ask me if I have any stool or anything like that to step on. Then he asked for something to lay appliance on. Like I said, nothing major but I found his request odd because he should have come prepared with everything specially he already came before and knew exactly what was needed. What if I didn't have things that was needed? I think there are quite a few things Callahan and their technicians needs to work on before they can expect 5-star reviews from their clients. read more

I had a GE freezer that when out after only 6 months. So it was under the manufacture warranty. Callahan's was the company who came out to diagnose what was wrong with my freezer. It turned out to be the compressor. Callahan's came out on December 2nd, told me it would take 7-10 days for the part to arrive. So after 10 days, I called to see if the compressor had arrived. Nope not yet. I was assuming that the delay was due to the holidays...lol!!!!! No, Callahan's had not even placed my order. They did NOT place the order till December the 23rd. WTH??! If you have a choice, which I didn't, go with anyone else. GE had to get involved. It took a month till I had my freezer fixed. Not Acceptable!!!!!! read more

If you want to schedule a service tech, plan on them not showing up in the allotted time window. I was told 11:30am - 2:30pm and the tech ended up eating dinner with me. I'm now on my 3rd visit (dishwasher is still not fixed) and Callahan's missed the window again 11:00AM - 2:00pm. There is 0 and I mean ZERO customer service or empathy from the girls that answer the phone. I would recommend finding another company. read more

Horrible non-responsive company, Terrible Management, Absent Owner, and "Marcy C" that allegedly responds to YELP Reviews is VERIFIED not an Employee of the Company! -GE actually authorized a tech from this company to come to my home to repair WiFi issue on my range. The Callahan's tech said, "you need a new board." -5 days later (the 6th) after NO follow up call to me on part status, I have to call and speak with Manager named Lauren. She said, "the part should come in the 22nd." I said, "Great, let's schedule for the 30th" (giving 8 extra days for the part to arrive and scheduling flexibility). Lauren says, "it's AGAINST OUR POLICY to schedule until we have the part." (What???) -I call back on the 30th and ask for Mike Callahan, the Owner. Lisa said, "he's not in today." I asked her who Marcy C is (that responds to these YELP REVIEWS). Had Callahan technician in for a Speed Queen warranty issue on today. They are one of Speed Queen's service providers. Technicians need to know that everyone isn't stupid and some customers have technical skills also and have an understanding of how certain equipment works. This Callahan technician's troubleshooting went from using too much soap issue, to plumbing issue to quality of water to plumbing of drain in house. Make up your mind. He also told my husband that he specializes in GE appliances but works on Speed Queen. Callahan technician also went against Speed Queen's procedure of recommendation of cleaning washing of machine. During the "troubleshooting", the Callahan technician placed washing machine on cycle that is not recommended by Speed Queen. The ECO cycle. Also stated manufacturers of liquid laundry detergent do not work on washing machines. My husband stated machine now has small puddles of water which it did not have before. Callahan technician stated that it is normal. That's not. Finally, don't ever give your customers the impression that you don't care about what they are saying. read more

Needed a water inlet valve (OEM part $70) for my Kenmore Elite washer. Service guy was great, until he quoted me the "companies" price for repair of $457. The labor was less then one hour according to repair manual. $146 for the service call. I said no thanks on the repairs and went with another 5 star company with a TOTAL charge of $239. I still came out ahead $72 by not using Callahan's. read more

Callahan's was sent to fulfill a warranty request from GE for a washing machine delivered and setup by Home Depot just 10 days prior. The washer was throwing an error "door" and would not start the washing cycle. Callahan's team called the same day that I placed the call to GE and confirmed that they would be able to arrive the next day. The tech that Callahan's sent is Colton. Talk about a breath of fresh air with regards to appliance technicians, Colton is amazing. He diagnosed the issue and asked me qualifying questions to ascertain the root cause of the issue. He checked and rechecked the unit to assure he was getting everything needed to get this unit running again. He ordered the part and arranged to come back when the part was available. Colton then cleared the error codes on my unit that allowed me to use it again that day (for at least 3 washing cycles) until the part was available. After he left, I called the office to pass on some additional information and the wonderful lady who helped me said the part was coming in and she set up Colton the very next day to replace the part. Colton came out, replaced the part and once again did a diagnostic to assure the issue was resolved. He also provided feedback on the best way to keep my new machine in top shape and longevity. I am not sure about other people's experiences, but Colton and the lady who sets appointments at the office made my experience an awesome one. Thank you! read more

Don't work with them. They destroyed our countertop when they were fixing our stove and then completely gaslit us when we reached out about the damage. Grasping for straws to make excuses. It will be tens of thousands of dollars to replace the countertops that got damaged and their response was, "our technician says he didn't do it". Wish I could go lower than one star. This company deserves 0 stars. We have been waiting for three weeks for a dryer repair. They started by telling us they'd be back with the part within a week. After several calls of them saying "We're waiting on GE to send the part." We finally called GE ourselves. GE called Callahan's to get the part number. Turns out, Callahan's had never ordered the part. GE advised us the part would arrive at our house by Thursday and to call Callahan to get on their schedule for Friday. Instead of getting on their schedule, the manager yelled at my wife and told her they won't come finish the job. Manager's name was Mark. I see all the comments on other one star reviews to call in and speak to a manager... don't waste your breath. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worse enemy. I purchased a GE ice maker and had it delivered to the house. When my appliance tech came to install it he saw that the inside mechanisms were damaged. GE send out a tech from Callahan's to do warranty repair work. He barely spoke english and i finally understood that he needed to take it back to the office to look at the damage. In order to take it back, he had not dolly and had to drag it accross our wood floor through the kitchen, dinning room and entry way. Then I saw that he was in a compact car. He was unable to lift the machine, had no help, and had to pivot the machine into the the small car. He just left without saying anything at that point. No explanation of what to expect and no paperwork to show he had taken my machine. I got a criptic email two days later in very broken and vague language. I had to call Callahans to understand what it meant and the was then told they would not repair it. After a few minutes talking with the service manager if had to figure out they thought it was damaged in transit and said I had to call someone else. Pitiful service. I would never intentionally call them for service. They do not communicate well. read more

I have yet to have my repair problem resolved but incredibly I have already experienced horrific service and extremely rude behavior form these people and I am frankly wondering how they are in business for any length of time, much less 50 years. I scheduled a repair to my refrigerator through Sears due to the very expensive warranty I purchased when I bought the fridge. The original appointment a technician and he was a pretty nice guy he didn't have the part I needed and he ordered it and everything seemed fairly normal. A week or so later the part showed up with no explanation of what to do next, so I called Sears to let them know and hopefully schedule the return visit. I was sent a text pretty quickly that had a link stating that I already had an appointment for the next day between 1and 3 PM. It wasn't my preference but it was doable with a little effort so I let the appt. stand. Well needless to say Callahan's didn't show up so i contacted Sears since I didn't have Callahan's number at that point. They couldn't help me and told me to call Callahan's and gave me the phone number. I called and spoke with a Jennifer (who is extremely rude) and she said Sears system doesn't communicate with their system at Callahan's, This can not be true since I never spoke with Callahan's prior to the original appt. it was all scheduled through Sears' system. She told me they'd be out in 2 days, but would not give me a time window and when I asked for a time she then fed me some more semi-truths about their tech would give me a window tomorrow. It all sounded pretty ridiculous. She then hung up on me for some reason that i am not aware of since I wasn't being rude. Must've been a hard day of BS-ing customers, I guess. She then apparently blocked my phone number from being able to call her supervisor back because I was unable to get through again on several tries. At this point I just want my refrigerator fixed and to forget about Callahans Appliance repair company they are not worth my time or money and if you're reading this I suggest you find another company that actually cares about serving they customers who might be interested in additional repairs like any homeowner. Spend your money with a company that doesn't suck. Addendum: I was notified by the not rocket scientist running this company that they were canceling my service order placed through Sears warranty service. I guess the voicemail I left him to speak with him about the quality of the service I had received form his company somehow offended Mike. So far so good. My warranty company sent Callahans to look at my ice maker. The technician, Kerry, is excellent. I've had other companies sent out to repair my refrigerator and they just try to blow it off as if my problems are just a freak thing. Kerry really understands how a refrigerator, freezer, and icemaker work. About a week ago Kerry identified my faulty parts and placed them on order. I was just notified the parts have arrived. My instinct tells me this is going to turn out very well, but I will update my review when the repairs are complete. So far I am very happy. UPDATE 9-8-2022: Kerry came back out to my home with the parts. Everything was replaced in short order. He made sure the ventilation under my refrigerator was clean to prevent other problems. My experience with Callahans was simply wonderful. I will definitely use them again. read more

Our fridge went out on a Sunday, we called LG and Callahan's was assigned to our case. They called first thing Monday morning and got out to us that day, the fridge was fixed in an hour and we were so grateful! My Samsung washer needed repair under Lowe's warranty. I called Lowes warranty repair on Monday (Sep 30) and they scheduled Callahan's to come on Wed (Oct 2) between 8 and 12 noon for the repair. Callahans called me around 8:40 a.m. and said they would need to change my "window" to sometime between 2 to 4 p.m. I went to considerable effort to rearrange my schedule to suit Callahans schedule, and then the repairman did not show between 2 and 4, so I called Callahans (they never called me about the no show) and was advised that the repairman would probably be at my house sometime between 5 and 7 p.m. If he shows, I will be amazed. I hope he has all needed parts. This scenario will never happen again as I have advised Lowes Warranty to never schedule Callahans for any of my future warranty repairs. read more

After my refrigerator starting making a noise, I called Callahan's to check it out. My technician Garrett was knowledgable as well as professional and courteous. He not only identified and fixed the problem (ice build up) but he also went the extra mile by finding that the sensor could be relocated to prevent future ice build up and did that maintenance as well. I appreciate Garrett's efforts to make sure that not only was my current problem fixed, but future problems prevented. read more

Wow! Just read some of these reviews but I had a very different experience. Spencer came out and diagnosed my 'fridge as needing a new ice maker...it's still under warranty. He was extremely personable and when I asked him a question about our Whirlpool washer he gave me some good advice as to how to use it plus a tip about how much detergent to use. He was clean, articulate, prompt and efficient...I'm a fan! The only reason I did not give five stars is that the new icemaker has not been installed yet. If he does as well on the install, I hope to get back on here and update! OK! Update...Spencer just left and this goes to 5 stars! They replaced the drain pump on my washer while it was still under warranty so when it went out again less than a year later, I called to see if there was a warranty on the new part. There was...3 months. Really! So I asked them what they'd charge to replace it now that it wasn't under the manufacturers warranty anymore. For the price they quoted me, I could almost buy a new washer. If they're going to charge those prices, they need to guarantee the part for longer than 3 months. read more

Callahan Appliance Repair had been referred to me by the folks at Whirlpool as my appliance was still under warranty. I was kind of reluctant due to having had a bad experience with washer repair in the past. Dale came out on time with his mask on. He didn't have shoe covering but asked if he could come in without them to which I said he could. He quickly got to work. He checked the machine out, asked me some questions, removed a panel and immediately could see the problem. He proceeded to explain to me what had happened and the washer was fixed in about 30 minutes. He also gave me some tips on getting the best use out of my washer. I had a washer full of water that was totally dead and a weeks worth of dirty clothes stacked! This just happened to be at the end of their business day on a Saturday. The technician came to my house diagnosed the problem and did not leave until it was repaired. He was professional, and even engaged by very talkative little one who had a LOT of questions. I would give them a "0" star if possible. The owner himself has no customer service whatsoever. His tech came out to change an ice maker and 45 minutes later we had a refrigerator that didn't work at all. 6 days now and still no refrigerator. Lowes says they are supposed to pay the amount that we paid to get a new one. He says that it's a mfg warranty problem. Pretty much getting the run around from both. Want appliance's??? I had a GE microwave that went out 11 months into warranty. GE assigned Callahan's to fix the problem. On 11/30/2017 they replaced a glass fuse with a ceramic one. "That always causes the problem". The same day, the unit went out again, so Callahan's had to come out again and at that point they took the unit to their shop. Over the course of the next SEVEN weeks, my microwave was at their shop. During the first 3 weeks or so, the communication was OK, but there were always excuses about how the part they replaced did not fix the microwave, and they needed to order another part. For what it's worth, I only spoke with them once a week or less because I wanted to respect their time. Afterwards, however, it was like they disappeared. Constant excuses - training time, delays or cancellations on parts orders, etc. After replacing the 5th component on the microwave, I began to suspect that these people have no idea what they are doing. At one point, I took time to have a magnetron from GE delivered to my house, then took it to them personally (total of about 2 hours of my own phone time and 3 hours drive time to Callahan's and back on a warranty repair) so that they did not have to schedule a pick up on on the part. I just wanted to help them out (this was more than 5 weeks in). I was told I would be called the very next day to be informed as to the progress of that part. I wasn't called. Three weeks and two additional parts later, I could not get them to call me back and leave a message (when they said they would) and they did not respond to email. I spoke with a lady name Tracy at one point well into this. She said she would confirm with her manager (and put me on hold) when one of the parts was supposed to be in (after the one I hand delivered to them). When she said it would be another several days, I asked to speak with her manager. She told me she IS the manager. Never outright lies, but certainly lots of deception. And obviously a healthy dose of incompetence. If you still haven't figured out what's wrong with a microwave after replacing several components, then you have no business being in business. During the 8th week of not having my microwave because Callahan's could not figure it out and would not communicate with me, I finally convinced GE to replace the unit. Callahan's dropped off the unit to my house on 1/22/2018 so that it could be exchanged with a new unit that will be installed by another company. Keep in mind that, as of 1/28/2018, this amounts to nearly two months without the unit. Also, the Callahan's website says they are BBB accredited and have an A+ rating. When I told "Tracy" about the fact that they are neither accredited nor A+ rated on the BBB site (trying to be helpful to them even after several weeks) she said "I have no control over that." I would not recommend Callahan's Appliance to anyone at all. read more

Callahans was just the worst experience we have ever had and I wish they had not been allowed in my home. During COVID 19, the employee didn't even wear a mask in my home. I got angry and my husband and I saw it in his pocket. He refused to use it when asked. He also came 3 times to fix our washing machine and did so incorrectly. Three times! The first time he left, he stated that our circuit board needed to be replaced. He did not replace it properly, so the machine shook violently and loudly like a jet engine on take off! We found screws and pieces on the laundry floor when he left, so we had a feeling it was bad work. On another review site, it has been said that employees write false reviews to up their ratings and that the receptionist is often rude to clients and will wmeven hang up on them (my experience) or charge a higher rate for customers that they do not like or that complain about inferior work. The second time Callahans came out, the guy actually looked at me and (I'm not joking, folks) proceeded to violently shove the washer back and forth and sideways, saying that my floors were uneven and that was what was making the sound. I was incredulous...when the machine worked perfectly, it sat on the same floor with no issue. Callahans either didn't know how to fix the product or they didn't want to. My feeling was incompetense. When I called Callahans, i told them that their employee didn't know how to fix the problem and wasn't wearing a mask, even when asked to and kept it in his pocket. I spoke to Callahan again and the woman was extremely rude and told us that the employee would be wearing his mask the third time because the owner had spoken to him. I stated that they would have to send another employee as this one was no longer allowed in my home, ever. So on Monday, guess who arrives at my house? I called again and was told by an extremely rude woman that I would need to figure out how to get another company to service my machine (weeks have gone by, during COVID, in which I had to go to a public laundromat. I called Home Depot (thank goodness that we purchased a 5 year warranty, as this crappy but expensive machine has been serviced 7 times in 3 years) and explained that I didn't want Callahans, they refused to work on my machine and were incompetent and shady and that they should not be a preferred vendor. HD then scheduled GE to come fix our machine. We did not ever need a new circuit board, the board we did get was not installed properly and was (amazingly) missing pieces. All these a-holes from Callahans tromping in and out of our house, replacing good parts and even screwing that up, FOR MONTHS, during a pandemic was just ridiculous and endangered my family and children. The real problem? Something stuck in the hose. Easy fix. Callahans was pumping up the bill. Once GE reinstalled the circuit board correctly (one visit) the jet sound stopped immediately. Callahan's called the morning of the appointment and moved the window to 1-3. I waited but no one showed up or called. Worse customer service. Will not work on my Bosch dishwasher even with authorizations from Bosch. puts All the blame on Bosch - no parts but then Callahan's doesn't train their techs anymore.
