Here is a photo of our completed backyard by Callado Concrete. It is multi-level. They installed the trex deck, laid all concrete, built rock wall to hold up flower bed that surrounds the yard. They put in drainage throughout the entire yard and laid the grass. They erected the pre-made pergola. Everything is perfect (workers even used a laser to align decking). Eduardo and his crew did an excellent job at my house. He demoed and poured a 9 ft x 50 ft slab on the side of my house. I had been having some bad luck with some other contractors I had previously hired. So, I wanted to make sure I hired someone I can trust. My son and daughter in law had recently used Eduardo and recommended him to me. I'm glad that I listen to them. Eduardo and his crew were very professional every step of the way. From demo to prepping with gravel and rebar, getting the right slope for drainage and adding drains for the AC and gutters. he even fixed some mistakes a previous contractor did and wouldn't fix. I am a very fair and honest reviewer, you can read my previous reviews. Although I don't leave many, the reviews that I have left are very accurate and in most cases, the owners of the businesses reach out to me afterwords. I will update this review if Eduardo reaches out to me. In all fairness, I would only want a negative review to go to the companies that deserve it. I am this way because I am tired of inflated yelp reviews, which seems to be more common these days, by family, friends, or maybe a review for a fair discount. I can honestly say that I have not received any discount or break, and I am not related to Callado Concrete in any way shape of form. I want to be fair and partial with this review. I don't review much and usually only write a review when my experiences are either extraordinary and they deserve a review from myself, or if there is something about their service that was beyond terrible. First off, let me start by saying that in 2013 I had a 1100 square foot concrete job in my backyard and front yard and it was by the previous owner, Juan Callado. Let me say that Juan, honest and fair guy, was awesome and a pleasure to deal with. I loved the work I received and I provided a very generous tip for the work after it was done. It was a traditional transaction and I even offered to feed his hard working guys two square meals a day to which he was very appreciative. Fast forward to last week, I wanted to get more concrete work done, and fix an issue that was never fixed the last time. Juan promised a fix because he forgot to cement my condenser drain and instead, the condenser stained my concrete. So i've had a bucket underneath for a few years and I finally wanted to get it taken care of. I spoke with Eduardo over the phone and was pleased to have an estimate done within two days of my call. Eduardo met with me in person at my house and assessed my needs. Eduardo told me that since he took over the business from Juan, he no longer honors the warranty from when Juan owned the business. Strange because I didn't think that there was an official business transfer but i am looking into that. So I said ok, i guess I could understand that. Since I wanted more work, Eduardo said that if I do more work with him, he would take care of the issues for me no problem. I was very thankful. After the meeting, Eduardo said that the job was small and that he would try to squeeze the work in between his jobs but that he is booked through two months. I told him no problem and Eduardo stated that he would send me an estimate later that day or the next day. Next day, I never got the estimate, he called me the day after and said that he had sent it. Funny, I never received it. He asked me for my email address again. A few hours later I got the estimate in my email, imagine that. I called him back to schedule a time to talk about the estimate and see if we can work out a better deal. He called me one time and i was at the doctor's office and he said he would call back after 2pm. He never called me that day. Next day, he says he will call me at 6pm, never calls me. I tell him to call me back whenever he can, he never calls me back. Two days later, I send him a message and he says he will get back to me later. He never calls me back. Finally, I send Eduardo a message saying if you don't call me back tonight, don't bother. I'll forward you a copy of the yelp review I will leave. Out of respect, just a heads up. He replies as such: "I haven't even eat. I was working all day with the rain. I wont be able to lower the price. Thank you for contacting Callado Concrete. " Message received. I wish you would have just told me that you didn't want to talk about negotiating in the first place, I wouldn't have bothered and I would have moved on. Instead, you tell me 4 days ago that we can work something out and then you string me along. I was just so happy with the work from the old owner that I wanted to show some loyalty and the new owner just shut me down. It seems like he didn't really care for my job since he has other jobs to do and he considered my job "small". Well, it was a $3000 job and I was going to pay in cash but I guess that doesn't matter these days. Honestly, not a place that I would want to do business with anymore and that's really a shame. If you respect loyalty and honor, then this may not be the business for you. read more

After getting 3 quotes, Callardo Concrete was the best priced and you could tell they knew what they were doing. Then his worker appeared before our appt to measure the area needing replacement. That didn't set so well for me either. So far so good. Juan poured some concrete a couple months ago. They moved some sprinklers and one pipe is leaking under the concrete. I called Juan yesterday and he had a crew out today. The problem so far is my landscaper just finished landscaping the area around the concrete. Juan's crew is digging up my newly landscaped yard to run new PVC right now. Juan met with my Husband and I, after a quick google search gave us his company and the man preformed a backyard miracle for us. He had his guys clean up all the weed, old wooden planter boxes, cap and removed two sprinkler systems. I chose Callado concrete because of all the Yelp reviews. Their bid was not the cheapest I received, but I figured that since so many other yelpers had trusted them, then I would too. Eduardo was my main contact and he was excellent at returning phone calls and answering E-Mails, which is great for a high-touch customer like me. I would have given them five stars, except for the fact that the stamping work they did on my backyard patio was a little crooked. After telling Eduardo about it, he gave me two options: 1) a discount on the total or 2) his crew would re-do the patio at no cost. The fact that he owned up to the mistake and was willing to fix it definitely speaks volumes about the integrity of their company and the pride they have in their work. I ended up opting for the discount, since I typically hate re-work being done. You never know what could happen the second time, right? Also, to respond to someone else's comment about them asking for too much upfront, this was not the case at all. He bid the job, provided an invoice and held to it. He worked with me on design and offered suggestions to make things go easier. Even when I made a mathematical error in the billing resulting in a $50 credit in my favor, he didn't blink an eye. Only after my wife pointed it out did I notice. He is such the businessman he would rather have a satisfied customer than argue over the $50. After discovering a flaw, he gave me the option of a discounted final check or redoing the entire driveway. Very professional. The workers were excellent and cleaned up at the end of everyday. The only draw backs were scheduling. He does such good work, we had to wait a bit of time before he was available and we were scheduled. Then the weather delayed us pouring for another day. Called CALLADO CONCRETE and left a message to give me a bid on the side of my driveway and a 10'x 8' pad in the backyard. No response! Called again, the next day and got in touch with Eduardo. He made an appointment to show up at noon on Monday . Eduardo was running late and came by an hour and half later. After taking measurements Eduardo told me that he would get back to me with a bid. He told me he could fit me in, the earliest in the first week of July!!! By Wednesday I never received a bid. I called another concrete contractor on YELP and the next day the contractor had completed the job..... Correctly. I guess some jobs are too small to be concerned with for CALLADO CONCRETE.
