3-Years Review Update:…read more I posted current 2020 pics of our front and backyard landscaping over 3 years old installed by KD Landscaping. As you can see, the total landscape is thriving, looks great and we still get inquires on who did our landscape. Many of our neighbors assumed or thought it was installed by a more popular and prominent Brentwood Landscaping company. I cannot speak for other Khandy customers, this is my personal interaction and observed work of KD Landscaping. Khandy has done at least 12 projects in our community and all still looks great. I wish they would do a review for KD Landscaping, but that's not what they like to do. So I only saw not so good reviews on KD Landscaping website. I sympathize with their experience. Fortunately, our and many more households in our neighborhood experience with KD Landscaping was different. Khandy stands by his work. He replaced 10 plants that didn't survive the very hot Brentwood summer back in 2018. Khandy also came back and fixed a broken sprinkler head 2 years post installation. There are some hairline cracks (3) in cement work that appeared after a year or two but they were at high stress points that cement would tend to break. Could it have been prevented? Maybe. But the cement work is still looks great. I would still recommend KD Landscaping for new and redoing yard landscaping. I would also strongly recommend going through a landscape architect to customize your yard first, then give the blue print to Khandy to follow. That is what we did. His workers are skilled and very hard working. They worked on our yard when the summer temp reached 103F! Communication might be a little challenging, but be patient. Khandy understands what you want. Be sure to get a final complete estimate of work. Payments to KD Landscaping are done the right way. Khandy doesn't ask for 50% upfront without doing a single hour of work. You pay in intervals after each segment of work is complete. You inspect the work and pay the agreed amount if you're satisfied. Give KD Landscaping a call. At least get a quote!

We didn't realize upfront a ton of stuff about the guy- 1.he only works with one guy @ a time, whomever he can pick up from Home Depot that day.2. marginal cement work (photo says it all) 3..he's unaccountable e.g., used the wrong color stain on our fence & never admitted it even after he had to come back & sand it out! /one of his workers broke an irrigation pipe, never told us about it ,Khandy blamed us 4.Khandy lied about how far down he would rototill before planting, lied about putting down compost. We basically had to replant every single thing he planted. He did a pretty good job on the pavers. He has no business doing landscaping.

He came over Saturday morning and we talked about the project for 40 minutes. I was already amazed at his responsiveness on such short notice. He gave many great suggestions and helped to shape my vision of a nice landscape. I was very interested in getting a new sprinkler system, as I've never had one and it takes so much time to water everything. He guaranteed that EVERYTHING on my land would get water and then walked me through how that would happen. I also wanted him to clean up some old bushes and shrubs, as well as clean up the old/drying "front yard" (dead/bad grass with weeds). In the back, I wanted him to put down fresh new grass, and put in a border for the walkway. He gave me his bid, which was more than fair, and I told him I'd let him know ( I had more landscape architects coming to give me bids that day). That night, my wife and I talked about it. Although Juan's wasn't the "cheapest", he was by far the most through and competent of the lot. Also, the others didn't include many of the things Juan was including. The next morning (Sunday) I called Juan to tell him about the other bids. He offered to come right over and talk about it in person (on a Sunday! Wow), so I agreed. After discussing it another hour (!), he agreed to match the competitors bid and STILL include all the extra work! Let me tell you, it was an awesome deal. I paid him $200 to close the deal, and the promise to pay him 1/2 later, and the final amount when he was done. The next day, (Monday) he arrived early in the morning and got right to work with his crew. They worked all week, even when it was raining! I would get home from work at 7:30pm and they would still be hard at work too! Juan and his crew did an awesome job. They know exactly what they are doing! They even know how to use and apply "water crystals" before putting down a new lawn. These are little gel things which store water (when you water the lawn, or when it rains). Then it slowly releases the water over several days. I've read that some people only need to water the lawn once a week because of the water crystals. Thanks Juan for bringing water everywhere: to my front, back, corners, and side yards (everything!) and for helping conserve water by using water crystals! Awesome! Great service and great price! Done in 5 days! BTW, according to his business card he does everything, including: Tile Works, Fencing, Retaining Walls, Concrete Work, Brick Work, Bobcat Service, Tree Service, Stucco, Roofing, Remodeling Kitchens and Baths, Demolitions. Job Satisfaction Guaranteed! (I was!)

John was very thorough in the estimating process, made some good suggestions about the scope and design, brought me a sample of the material just to be sure, and was here every day at least once to check on the job. Their work was meticulous, and they worked through some difficult angle, slope and drainage problems since I have soil settlement issues. It looks beautiful! I just wish I'd done it sooner. I will definitely be calling John when I'm ready for phase 2 of landscaping.

Several weeks ago, I looked out our tiny bathroom window and admired the long stretch of beautifully-stamped concrete that I had forgotten Jerod had suggested. Everyday I see the hummingbirds enjoying all the beautiful butterfly, bee and bird attracting flowers. We are not the only ones enjoying our new backyard. Since Jerod (JB's Landscaping) finished, we've hosted my husband's wrestling reunion, our daughter's baby shower, a family gathering, and a hockey Meet-and-Greet in our used-to-be small, 50-year old home. I can't wait to plant in my over-sized raised garden bed tucked away for quiet mornings. I love all the subtle lighting that "Jerod" suggested. This is what I miss the most: Jerod's enthusiasm, his 80's music, his creativity and his 25-plus years of experience. His problem-solving. His quiet demeanor. His self-sufficiency. His neatness and organization. His resourcefulness (he found 2 Japanese maple trees that someone had thrown out on the street and today they're thriving in our backyard). His "texturing" by adding big boulders with "personalities". Thank you, Jerod, for a job well done. We love our backyard. Some days, there are no words. Just a smile and gratitude for our decision to choose you.
