The only good thing about the service was that we received freon. After Tyler left, we noticed Tyler had left panels off the unit and it was bent and not caulked around the unit and brick. Have been trying to get this resolved. They were however very quick to give me a very expensive estimate for additional repairs they think we need while here. didn't have a "little red wagon experience " with this company. I scheduled a service call to look at a possible freezing coil issue for my Carrier Infinity unit. booked the appointment for 2 days in the future. technician was supposed to be here between 12-4pm. technician didn't show up but did call me at 10pm to let me know he would be here at midnight. we deci to reschedule for the next day. technician showed up 3 hours late. cou not diagnose the problem as he had no Carrier training. paid him 95.00 to fix nothing. I told the appointment setters that I had an infinity system and that I needed a qualified technician. they assured me all their technicians were qualified. I wanted to get a quote on installing a 2 zone damper on my current system. I found call da through finditduke. they reached right out and scheduled an appointment for a Monday from 3-6 PM. I got another text fr9m someone else the next day about setting up an appointment that I had already made. did not respond to that one. I then got a call at 10 PM on Saturday night that went straight to VM. it was someone calling about setting up an appointment again. now it is Monday at 5:40 PM and I get a text that the tech is almost 70 minutes from my house. I told them to cancel my appointment and I will not be doing business with them ever. read more

I cannot recommend Call Dad. They have no business doing residential HVAC, with a CEO in finance and a current licensure in a 18 month probation period due to - Allegations licensee failed to obtain permit(s) prior to commencing work, failed to request inspections within 10 days of substantial completion of work, failed to obtain final inspections, failed to provide supervision, failed to perform proper load calculation(s), violated the minimum standard of the North Carolina State Mechanical Code, improperly licensed a branch office, but pulled a permit for another branch office, installations were performed in a poor workman like manner / poor workmanship, charged for and was paid for items that did not need to be installed and were not installed. After the complaint was filed the firm rectified the issue. Resolution Conference held 01/22/2025. The Review Committee found that the allegations were supported by the evidence and recommended that the license of Matthew Stewart, number 29999 H-2&3-I & P-II, and that of the firm shall be placed on supervised probation for a period of eighteen (18) months. Among other requirements during the probation, the licensee shall enroll in, attend, and complete the series of Special Mechanical Code courses and complete the Special Board Laws & Rules course ( Stewart, Matthew J. Call Dad, LLC Denver, NC License# 29999 H-2&3-I & P-II) My personal experience has been at a loss of over $17,000, an incorrectly installed system with initial failed county permit, property damage, gas leak, and a years worth of pain and suffering from trying to work with them to correct Call Dad's poor workmanship and failed minimum standard to basic codes. read more

Called on a Saturday morning to schedule a quote for replacing my aging HVAC system. Interacted, supposedly, with their AI that sounded like a real person pretending to be AI... I was surprised that they scheduled a person to come out that very same afternoon and received an email confirming a window of 12-3PM. Nobody showed up or called. On Monday morning I received a text to confirm an appointment for that same afternoon with a window of 12-5PM. Since I was going to be home anyway, I accepted it and received a text confirming the appointment. Nobody showed up or called and I received no further communication from them. Obviously I cannot recommend Call Dad to anybody- no idea about the quality of their work, but they are seriously lacking in the quality of their customer service - not a great way to run a business! ZERO STARS!! Had a "plumber" from Call Dad to fix a blocked toilet. Had to call someone from Columbia since apparently, they don't have plumbers in Charlotte (WTH?) even though they claim to have local plumbers. Guy charged me over $400 and told me they had to call another company to actually fix the problem. This company was also out of Columbia and didn't serve Charlotte. Plumber said he couldn't do anything and I had to call another plumber but did not offer any refund. Called another plumber and he fixed for a little over $100. Call Dad lost another customer! Looking at other reviews here, I'm not the only one. From Invoice: "Arrived at the residence in response to a toilet that won't flush properly. Slow draining toilet. Upon arrival, I was informed me that over the weekend they were cleaning the bathroom and the husband accidentally flushed a sponge down the toilet. After asking follow up questions to what seemed to be the issue I put together a game plan, went over it with the customers and once they agreed and signed the estimate, I proceeded to start my inspection/do the work. Homeowner had stated he had already tried auguring the toilet with no luck. Knowing this, I first pulled the toilet before auguring to prevent pushing the sponge deeper into the line. Once toilet was pulled I snaked the toilet 4X to ensure it wasn't lodged in the integral toilet P-Trap. I then augured down into the drain line itself. Never felt any kind of resistance as far as my auger would go. I walked around the house and searched for clean outs to access, but the 1950's built home did not have any. Attempted to reach 1 Tom plumbing where I was informed by Carly that they don't service the residents zip code area. Spoke with the homeowners and informed them that whatever is blocking that line is unfortunately out of our reach. A main drain line company will need to asses further. Did not recommend any other company as 1 Tom Plumbing is our only trusted company at the moment." read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Hands down the WORST service experience I've ever had -- and I was completely bamboozled by the positive reviews that made me think this company was reliable. The tech showed up clueless about the NEST system I needed installed -- I honestly knew more than he did. Then he managed to blow the circuit in my AC, leaving me without air for five days. And the circus didn't stop there: - Part had to be ordered (zero urgency). - Day 2 Radio silence -- no updates, no calls. - Day 3 Tech finally shows up at the end of the day with no communication, only to discover they ordered the WRONG part. - Day 4 I was scheduled incorrectly and told at the very end of the day that no one would be coming. - Day 5 I was promised an 8-12 slot. By 2pm I still had no tech. The tracker app showed him just sitting at the entrance of my subdivision for over 20 minutes. Then at 3:10, I get a call from the tech giving me a sob story about how busy his day has been, that he finally got to sit down, and that he needs to use the restroom. I don't care. That is not my problem. You're here to do a job -- not park at the entrance of my neighborhood. And if you are peeing in the woods, I really don't want to know about it. AND ITS STILL NOT OVER...in the time it has taken me to write this review...still at the entrance to my subdivision. This company has no urgency, no communication, and no clue. If you enjoy stress, broken promises, and roasting in your own home while you wait days for "help" that never comes, Call Dad is perfect for you. If you are considering a new heating & ac service company, take my advice DON'T USE CALL DAD AC & HEATING. My reason for this is I have used their service this year (2025) for the annual service plan on my AC system and my oil furnace. Now to let you know why I say not to use this company. First they installed a fan motor on my outside AC condenser that was very noisy, this had to be replaced. Second, this company serviced my oil furnace. The first service technician the company sent for the service was not very knowledgeable. He was not able to replace the fuel nozzle so I called the company. They then send two service techs (one was a company trainer) to replace this nozzle. Approximately two weeks after the nozzle was replaced the heater developed an internal fuel oil leak, again the company sent a service tech to repair the leak, this tech even stated they were not familiar with fuel oil furnaces. Now there is another leak of fuel oil inside the furnace inside of the furnace cabinet. Again I have called the company to check to see what this is. This will make THREE times this company has sent service techs to do something that should have been all done with ONE service call. I will give it to this company they come very quickly when called but this is of no use when the problem is not corrected. Now the time is about two months later and another 19 service tecks trying to find and stop the leak. The furnace still is leaking. This company creates problems with everything they touch! read more

When I pushed back asking for details of his claims he had none. As a potential customer I would not want to interact with Bryan. Chris was kind and respectful, Bryan was an arrogant bully. Started as a call I made to a Sage D advertised on Facebook market place AC repairs all types of units $45 thought it would be small company trying to get business. Sage told me to call I did It was not Sage It was Call Dad not $45 but $89. Decided to give them a try any way . Despite the bait and switch. After much confusion about time of appointment A tech shows up young guy . Gets out of van with nothing no tools. As we are walking to house wants to know If it was professionly installed and did I have the contract or invoice. I said no A friend that was retired from the business helped me do it. This company is garbage. Called about scheduling an appointment for a malfunctioning HVAC system, and they called me...AT MIDNIGHT to schedule. When I answered they acted as if this was normal. (I was not calling for an emergency and did not state that it was). Then they proceeded to tell me if I signed a maintenance contract with them, they would come out tomorrow. But if I didn't, they would come 4 days later. The problem turned out to be big, and then they sent out a a different employee to give an estimate on repairs. They never sent an estimate, after I paid them $300 for something they did not even fix. I called them 5 times afterwards, and each time the receptionist said she'd have someone call me within 24 hours. Never heard from them again. This business is atrocious. read more

id give 0 stars if I could. screw these guys. needed someone to come look at my outdoor ac unit because it stopped working in the middle of summer. a technician arrived a DAY late. we were furious we had to go another day in that heat. the tech looked at it at determined it was the capacitor, I expected to pay 50 dollars at the most for parts and labor. they wanted to charge me 650 DOLLARS ! turns out they won't just change out the part for a new one, they have to use their " turbo charged, proprietary model with a 5 year warranty" no capacitor is worth that. 20 dollars on Amazon and took me 10 minutes at the most to install. they are a rip off. Have had excellent service by Sky HVAC. They installed new HVAC equipment about 2yrs ago. Unfortunately had an issue with it recently, however they were very responsive. They came out the same day that I called, diagnosed the problem and had it fixed the next day. They continued to trouble shoot until everything was 100%. One of the lead guys called me personally daily to update me and ensure I was satisfied with the work. Have just signed up for the maintenance program as well. Highly recommend. I am a North Carolina Licensed General Contractor. I know the building profession well. 44 years of dealing with all aspects of the profession and all traded. I have used SKY HVAC a few times with negative results. They don't over price, they simply price gouge. Their installation is sub-par. The call backs on leaks, incorrect settings, low Freon, (all stemming from their poor installation quality), is their second payday. Their warranties on parts and labor are shorter than others. Just got an estimate from Sky HVAC in Charleston SC to do the duct work in a property I have and quoted me $20,200 for all flex pipes and 3 yr warrantee. I got 3 other companies given me estimates for the same thing but with hard pipes for the crawl space and flex for the attic plus re-encapsulation of the crawl space with the thick white plastic that is normally used and none of the estimates went over $15,000 This company has some nerve to think that people would be so foolish and go with them. In addition the day of the appointment I was told that the tech would be at the property between 3-4:30 and it was 6:00 and still no word. I called the company and finally the owner sent someone around 7:00pm and the tech had no idea about doing estimates since he normally does HVAC work. So i wondered if the estimate they just sent me today is based on how the property looks. Sad that there are people price gouging like Sky HVAC LLC. read more

I heard about this company through the Duke Referral program and they offered a free first service visit for new customers which I had done last week. I have a new (1 year old) gas pack but have had serveral issues with the company from whom I purchased it.. I had the service call with SKY last week but late last night I heard a loud metallic sounding crash that I couldn't find the source of. Early this am I checked my crawlspace and saw a large pipe had fallen down and was hanging suspended in the air with part of it being pushed against a duct which was the only thing holding it up. I didn't know if it was a main water line or gas and panicked and called Emmanual from SKY EARLY this am! He and a tech arrived within 2 hours, diagnosed it as a GAS line and resecured everything. This was my SECOND service to SKY in less than a week and he did NOT charge me for today's visit either! He was calm and pleasant throughout the entire process. I'm in my 70s with low income and that means a lot to me! I can verifiy that this company truly IS one that is easy to contact after hours and gives VERY PROMPT service! read more
