I've had a service contract with them and their predecessor companies for a decade. Get up-sell pitches with each service visit since Call Dad. The last visit needed a condensate pump. They charged over $500 (this was already a semi-annual service visit under contract) and pitched a new igniter and capacitor at equally obscene markups. When I didn't renew the service contract, they removed the in-contract discount for the pump. I'm looking for a new HVAC contractor. read more

Had a repairman come out to troubleshoot my A/C a few days ago. The issue was the start capacitor for the fan. This is a common failure. The repairman was professional and diagnosed the issue fairly quickly. The issue I have is with the bill. First of all, it's written like a story instead of a line stating labor and a line for parts. I had to call the company to get an accurate explanation. The labor was $ 89.00. The replacement capacitor was $ 617.61. I was shell shocked about the cost and asked a manager about the price. He stated that the capacitor costed the company around $ 200.00 and that there was a five-year warranty. I researched the cost of the capacitor and its available at many vendors for around $ 70.00 retail. I feel marking the part up 900% is too much. Our A/C abruptly stopped working on a Saturday morning so I selected "Call Dad" based on their review and weekend availability. Oliver was able to schedule an appointment for the following morning. it was a true blessing when William Spencer showed up at my door. He was kind, empathetic, and extremely knowledgeable. William was able to swiftly diagnose, resolve, and provide helpful feedback regarding our HVAC issue. We will be relocating but I signed up for the Call Dad membership plan because I know that I can trust their work. William came to service the HVAC but by the end of the appointment, I was ready to invite him and the fam back for a cookout! Julio was incredible! We had a new build issue that was looked at a few weeks prior and another company kept delaying when they would arrive to fix the issue. We have an 8 month old at home and could not wait for the heat of the summer...Julio came out to do an assessment and discovered more leaks and issues than the other company revealed to us. He is family oriented and understood the need for a timely fix. He ensured the parts were in stock, even worked on his day off and had it done in 3 days from the contact date. He was very knowledgeable about the systems and what was necessary to ensure it worked properly. tried to charge me $243 for a relay and $900 for a fan motor...i ordered the relay for $13 and the fan motor for $89 on line they say all you got to do is call dad .well you better call the bank and get a loan before you call these over priced people read more

Worst mistake I have made lately. I paid this company $390+ to replace a blown capacitor. They charged me $275.00 for the capacitor and $89 service fee plus taxes. I later found out that the capacitor is sold for $25 (twenty five dollars). What a rip off. Worst still, they sent me a very rude and disrespectful Tech called REN, who I had to send away from my property. My system is still not cooling. Please avoid this people. read more

In addition, after finishing he explained what he did in great detail--the overall health of my system and AC units.
