Had breakfast here twice during my weekend stay in Calistoga. I rarely would visit a place twice during the same vacation but have to say the breakfast sandwich of sausage cheese and egg is incredible - probably the best I have had. The sweetness of the tomato and mayo (I asked to hold the onions) go so well to balance the saltiness and fat of the sausage patty. The BLT with avocado is also very delicious with crunchy and flavorful bacon, fresh and crunchy lettuce, and richness from the avocado. My wife and I take a few trips a year to Calistoga and this is always our spot for morning coffee/breakfast . I always go with some type of Latte and the Sausage breakfast sandwich. Coffee is always great with a good bite. One of my favorite breakfast sandwiches is here. Always served piping hot with incredible flavor. I love that they have different bottles of hot sauce available for you to use as well. Service is always friendly and prompt despite being busy. Dear Management Team, I am writing to formally express my concern regarding an extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional experience I had at Calistoga Roastery on August 21, 2027, between approximately 1:00 and 1:15 p.m. I was visiting Calistoga with a friend to celebrate our birthdays and enjoy a spa treatment. Before our appointment, we decided to stop by your coffee shop for a quick bite and a coffee. Unfortunately, what should have been a simple and pleasant experience became very upsetting and left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. When we entered the establishment, a male employee greeted us. I responded politely, "Good, how are you?" while looking at the menu. He responded, "Shitty." My friend immediately acknowledged his comment by saying, "Sorry about that." I did not hear his response clearly and continued looking at the menu. He then said to my friend, "Thank you for acknowledging it, unlike your friend. She doesn't care what day I'm having." At first, I assumed he was joking. However, once I realized he was genuinely upset with me, I apologized and explained that I had not heard what he said. Rather than accepting my apology, he continued repeatedly telling me that I "didn't give a shit" and that I "didn't care" about how he was feeling. He continued making these comments in front of my friend and other customers. I repeatedly tried to apologize and clarify that I genuinely had not heard his response, but the situation continued to escalate. At that point, I felt extremely uncomfortable and confused about what was expected of me. I had simply responded politely to a greeting and was not intentionally ignoring or dismissing him. I understand that everyone can have a difficult day, and I have empathy for that. However, it is not appropriate to project personal frustration onto a customer or repeatedly criticize them after they have apologized and attempted to clarify a misunderstanding. There was also a woman present, who appeared to have blonde hair, who witnessed the interaction. She smiled at me and commented that "he always does this." Her reaction gave me the impression that this behavior may not have been an isolated incident. The employee later explained that breakfast was no longer being served because it was after 1:00 p.m. I accepted that information without issue. Despite this, when we were leaving, I thanked him and attempted to end the interaction respectfully. He made another insulting comment in front of my friend and other customers, stating that I did not know about my friend because "she has a bad attitude." I was especially disappointed by this experience because I also work in the customer service industry. I understand that employees can have difficult days and that misunderstandings can happen. However, I would never allow a customer to be treated this way, nor would I expect an employee, supervisor, or manager to repeatedly insult or confront a customer over such a minor interaction. What should have been a quick and pleasant stop during our birthday celebration instead became an experience in which I felt embarrassed, disrespected, and unwelcome. I did not confront the employee or respond disrespectfully, despite how uncomfortable the interaction became. I continued to conduct myself with grace and professionalism because I believe that is how customers and employees should treat one another. I am respectfully asking management to take this incident seriously, investigate what occurred, and take appropriate action to ensure that other customers do not experience similar treatment in the future. I also hope that appropriate guidance or training can be provided to staff regarding professional communication and customer service. I appreciate your time in reviewing my complaint and hope to receive a response regarding how this matter will be addressed. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Love a good local coffee shop and this place hit all of the must-haves - super friendly baristas, a good breakfast menu, and an unsweetened matcha. My jalapeño cheese bagel came with tomatoes, egg, red onions, and avocado and was PERFECTION! They have a few tables outside and a lot of tables inside. Calistoga Roastery is the neighborhood coffee spot in Downtown Calistoga. They have a wide variety of coffee flavors as well as bagels, breakfast sandwiches, teas, baked goods, and more. We got there right before a big rush of people came in. Either way, staff was hustling to turn drinks and food orders quick. I got a 16oz Hot Lavender Latte and my husband got a 16oz Chai Latte. Both were good but could have had a better flavor punch. The coffee was also rather milky. For food, I got a simple Cinnamon Raisin bagel which was good and my husband got a Lox Bagel which he thoroughly enjoyed! read more

We were biking in the neighborhood and stopped by for some coffee. Their Americano was delicious. I add cinnamon, honey and half & half that they had available on the counter. Hands down better than SBX and most coffee shops I frequent. The ladies at the front very super nice too and extremely patient while I decided what to get. Enjoyed frequenting this shop when staying at Roman Hot Springs Resort down the street. The service was fantastic and quick and the drinks were strong enough to amp me up for the day. This is my favorite coffee spot in Napa Valley. Coffee is good enough to satisfy even a coffee snob like me. When I ask for a dry cappuccino, I get a really dry one, not a coffee with milk and a bit of foam on the top. Service is quick even when busy. Like the breakfast avocado sandwich. I did not try any other food in there but it looks like a good selection. Bought their coffee for a home use, brewed in the Breville Espresso maker, even at a non-commercial machine espresso came out really tasty, what tells me that beans are roasted well. 3-27-22 I had this cafe bookmarked on Yelp. Got in line 5 minutes before the kitchen closed at 1 p.m. and the entire eatery closes at 2 p.m. Hubs saved the table while I ordered at the counter. Selected iced and frozen mocha drinks and lunch. I finished before hubs who leisurely likes to SLOWLY enjoy his coffee. Want to stay here or go look in some shops? He said he'd remain- oh yes! I could wander a bit and try to pick up some gifts without a shadow. By the time I returned hubs was sitting outside the cafe with the wines and chocolates we had purchased earlier that morning at Castello di Amorosa. Great coffee, great value. Busy place, and no wonder. Espresso tastes darker roasted. I forgot to ask what origins and today in the espresso. I had a 2 about cortado, and my partner had a mocha. The cortado tasted like they used milk for a single shot. This is an observation, not a critique, as I also love espresso straight. It also have me a more clear taste of the espresso used. And too many ships add too much milk anyway. So the cortado was guys The mocha was also very good. We also had bagels, and the prices were great. Good atmosphere, friendly staff.
