The food and service was so great I forgot to take photos of my food :) had the sausage muffin with everything and it was fabulous. The coffee was hot and fresh! The service was friendly and fast! Will come again soon!

Love a good local coffee shop and this place hit all of the must-haves - super friendly baristas, a good breakfast menu, and an unsweetened matcha. My jalapeño cheese bagel came with tomatoes, egg, red onions, and avocado and was PERFECTION! They have a few tables outside and a lot of tables inside. They also sell local coffee and cute mugs, etc to take home.

Calistoga Roastery is the neighborhood coffee spot in Downtown Calistoga. They have a wide variety of coffee flavors as well as bagels, breakfast sandwiches, teas, baked goods, and more. We got there right before a big rush of people came in. Either way, staff was hustling to turn drinks and food orders quick. I got a 16oz Hot Lavender Latte and my husband got a 16oz Chai Latte. Both were good but could have had a better flavor punch. The coffee was also rather milky. For food, I got a simple Cinnamon Raisin bagel which was good and my husband got a Lox Bagel which he thoroughly enjoyed!

Super cute store with a decent selection of coffee and food. The breakfast sandwich was pretty good, the best part was the bread! The staff were really friendly while you ordered.

Cool place ! Owner was really welcoming to us. Stopped by both mornings. Coffee was delish and breakfast food was easy.

Love this place for a quick bite of breakfast. Americano is decent. Breakfast sandwich is super yummy with avocado and wheat toast. It lasted a while too. Decorations are cute with a good sense of humor. My friend got a standard breakfast sandwich and it was good too. Food is ordered at the counter. Fast and friendly. Would love to come back again.

Very relax and local feel. Good number of staff a hand to fulfill the orders quickly. Almost out without out. Plenty of places as nice ambiance to it

I'm so glad we decided to come here. We were greeted by a peppy man at the counter. Turned out he's the owner, Clive. He was hilarious. Every question I asked, he shot back with his British sarcasm. He had us in stitches. I had an oak milk latte that was fantastic. We tried the BLT, avocado toast, and bagel sandwich. All delicious. Wish we could take the place and its owner back to Walnut Creek. Such a gem!

Friendly service and good food and coffee. Owner is British with that classic British sarcasm.

There was warm bread service with yummy kale butter. The mains: 2 orders of the 'wine forest risotto' = boneless Wagyu short rib with wild mushrooms, parmesan cheese it was sublime, melted in your mouth, very heavy. There also an order of the 'heritage beef and pork Bolognese', another home run! Lastly of course, dessert consisting of their 'hot mess' a chocolate flourless brownie, with marshmallow, pistachio ice cream, salted caramel - screaming goodness. Service was on point. There is no tipping as it is included in the pricing. Ambiance is casual; there is both indoor & outdoor seating. I had told the restaurant it was for a birthday & the staff have a staff photo made into a card where they all wished my friend 'happy birthday' plus a little gift of a wine bottle stopper, so sweet. Definitely coming back.

What a fantastic operation!…read more The Wife and I had taken a weekend trip to Calistoga, and after a morning and afternoon of wine tasting, we returned to the cottage to find out the power was down for the entire town. The outage continued for several hours. That evening, we strolled down Lincoln Avenue downtown noticing every restaurant was closed (including where we had reservations). A lady suggested looking at Lovina further down the road as she saw people dining. Lovina was open, and it turns out they invested 30K into a generator and it was serving them well--the restaurant was bustling. We approached the host stand and asked if there was a chance to get seated without reservations, and the host pointed at the bar and said "That's all I have." and we took it. The first thing you notice on the menu is that tipping is not expected. They state clearly 30% of the revenue goes to staff and they have 401K, paid vacation, and half of the medical covered for full and part time staff, and the food is priced to reflect those costs. The thing is, the costs were well within the costs you see for other restaurants in the area that expect tips. Add to that, the staff is overwhelmingly competent and seem to be happy. We watched them feed well over 100 customers, meet every reservation, and yet kept our drinks refreshed. The food was delicious, we both had the beef and pork bolognese, and their mocktails were tasty. Often times, the true value of a business is revealed at their worst times, and this team really put on a show. Highest recommendation, sixth star if there were one.

Don't just stop by for a meal--plan to spend a few hours exploring because every historic train car has its own unique experience. The amount of creativity, craftsmanship, and attention to detail is incredible. Every space feels thoughtfully designed, and you can tell every decoration and element was placed with intention. I notice something new every time I visit. I honestly can't pick a favorite train car. Casa Obsidiana serves authentic Oaxacan cuisine in one of the most beautifully designed spaces. The Parlor Car is elegant and perfect for champagne, caviar, and fresh oysters. If you're visiting with kids (or just have a sweet tooth), Earth & Sky Chocolates is a must--everything is absolutely delicious. Then there's the First Millionaires' Saloon, which is one of the coolest bars you'll ever walk into. The décor alone is worth the visit, and the distillery adds another unique experience to explore. Every train car has its own personality, making the entire property feel like an adventure rather than just a place to eat. The food is fantastic across the board. My son is obsessed with the wood-fired pizzas, and we've never had a meal we didn't enjoy. Whether you're stopping in for dinner, drinks, dessert, or simply wandering through the train cars, there's something for everyone. What truly makes this place even more special is the people. Every single employee we've encountered has been genuinely warm, welcoming, and kind. Michael always goes out of his way to say hello and make us feel at home, and Pedro is just as friendly and accommodating. You can tell the staff genuinely care about creating a memorable experience, and that hospitality is a huge reason we keep coming back. To make it even better, they have live music every weekend, creating such a fun atmosphere that you'll want to stay for hours. I've visited many places throughout Napa Valley, and nothing compares to the Calistoga Depot. It's historic, beautiful, unique, family-friendly, romantic, and unlike anywhere else. Whether you're looking for amazing food, handcrafted cocktails, authentic Oaxacan cuisine, incredible desserts, live music, or simply a one-of-a-kind experience, you'll find it here. This isn't just one of my favorite restaurants--it's one of my favorite places, period. If you're in Calistoga, don't even question it. Put the Calistoga Depot at the top of your list. When we arrived, no one greeted us or directed us where to go. We stood at the bar for quite a while with employees nearby before eventually making our way around to the other side. When someone finally took our order, the employee seemed annoyed and reluctant to help. We took our number and sat ourselves, as the signs instructed. Shortly after we were settled, a server came over and told us we would enjoy our experience more if we sat closer to the music. She took my friend's purse and my water and moved us to another table. From there, things continued to go downhill. Two of our four drinks came out incorrect, the avocado toast was completely inedible, and our pizza arrived cold. We repeatedly had to ask for napkins and plates, and we never received silverware. At that point, we asked to speak with a manager. She said she would make it right, but unfortunately, it felt like she simply wasn't equipped to do much to actually resolve the situation. She removed one drink and the avocado toast from our bill. While we appreciated the gesture, considering the overall experience, it didn't feel like enough to make things right. The manager did offer for us to come back and give Calistoga Depot another try, but unfortunately that isn't really an option for us. We were tourists visiting the area and don't live here, so we won't be back. We were celebrating a special 40th birthday and were really hoping for a fun, memorable dinner. Instead, the lack of service, incorrect drinks, cold food, missing utensils, and overall disorganization left us pretty bummed. We understand that restaurants can have an off night, but this felt like much more than just an off night. It was especially disappointing because this was supposed to be a special celebration.
