Love coming to California Fish Grill whenever we are in the area. They are located near the Kaiser hospital, but they have their own parking area with the other restaurants. They offer a great variety of dishes that feature seafood. My favorite are the bowls, which are very well balanced, since it comes with rice, veggies and choice of protein. It's also very convenient that you are able to order from their kiosk, which makes the ordering process much more efficient. read more

I got my usual fish n chips...the coating was so well done that the fish was fried to overly cooked! -condensed and dry. So oily! The Caesars salad I paid extra for had some wet bits throughout that I must interpret as croutons? with the lettuce a bit droopy for iceberg! This is my first time to Riverside location...I normally go to Redlands. My complaint against them is poor service and dirty bathroom but AT LEAST the food is delicious! read more

I used to love eating at California Fish Grill over the last 20 years or so there was one near my old house and all I remember is how bomb it was for a cheap fast seafood fix. Sooo first I noticed a handful of workers standing around directing me to order at the giant iPad thing.. ok fine. To my surprise no fried calamari I was craving it and it's unavailable so that was a bummer. I don't know I was a little disappointed in the changes. Went for a quick takeaway. Ordered on the app and the food was prepped when I arrived 10 minutes later. Once you enter, there's a line for dine in and another for quick pick up. I got some battered-fish and some corn and salad on the side. I get the charm... and the price. The quality of the food was good. The dishes were pretty warm and also filling. I also tried some of the shrimp and it wasn't that bad. This place could be a good alternative for some healthy seafood dishes. I believe there used to be a sauce bar but it's all gone? Probably just have to ask them for it when you order. Ambiance wise, it's a quick in and out place. I still stand by with the good flavor of the food. My favorite is still the dynamite shrimp bowl with white rice, I also like the fish tacos and sub the corn tortilla with flour. Love this place. I pick up Uber Eats from here often. And no matter how busy they are, they have great attitudes, work fast, and maintain quality Now. The pics don't always match the food. BUT the taste is absolutely delicious! The fried catfish, rock fish, and the Brussels sprouts and asparagus are delicious! The alcohol is a bit of a miss. My own taste. But the juices are awesome!!! I got the salmon plate and it was burnt. The nice manager gave me passes to order again. On another day, he gave me the salmon plates again and they were burnt again. I threw them away because they were hard and crispy. I didn't take them back again. I just haven't been back. I only eat the salmon and apparently their cook burns them all. So I won't go back. The manager was very nice and I have been all over the city to California Fish Grill, it is one of my favorite. But that one was the only one that burnt their salmon. read more

First time trying this place and it was a 10/10. I got the sea bass with white rice and zucchini, Greek salad, clam chowder and fish and chips. This is by far the worse location of California Fish Grill!!! I ordered the Salmon plate Cajun style. While the food tasted fine the portions of the fish as well as the side of Street Corn were ridiculously small! I complained to the cashier and she just said, that is how they come now. I was very disappointed and almost told her I wanted my money back, but I had just driven 30 minute to get there. I have been to several other locations and I know how big the portions are supposed to be. I can tell you that the location in Anaheim Hills area is the BEST Location . I will never by going back to the Riverside location and recommend that everyone else find another location or place to eat. I've enjoyed dining here on occasion since they opened. They're salmon, rice, and Brussel sprouts with their parmesan cheese bread are all I ever order because it's so delicious. Today I came in and decided to order to go as they were pretty busy during the lunch hour. There was a friendly gentleman at the walk-up ready to assist with questions, ordering on the screens, or getting someone to assist if you needed. I could see they had a ton of orders but my food took no time at all to be ready. The portion size and flavor are just as good as dine-in. My only disappointment was that they no longer offer their Miso sauce. That added such a unique flavor to the salmon and I hope they bring it back as a permanent option. At times the music can be well above conversation level but if you ask them to turn it down they graciously do. read more

First of all - let me start by saying I love this place and truly enjoy the healthy food options. The quality has gone down significantly; however, we still are regular customers. I brought a friend here today for the first time and we ordered at 7:05. My friend's food came out and her rice was hard. My food did not come for like 40 minutes. It was too cold for me to eat and I asked for it to be remade. I waited another 20 minutes and nothing was brought out. I ended up walking up to the manager and asking for a refund for my food since I was waiting for almost an hour. I'm not sure if it was the manager or just a worker but Shannon proceeded to give me my refund for the dish that didn't come out. She did not try to fix the problem; nor did she ask if there was any way for them to make this right. Simply just gave me my receipt and took no accountability for the inconvenience. I'm saddened because I truly love this place but I'll think 10 times before coming back, unfortunately. For clarification today's experience deserves 1 star. I discovered California Fish Grill about two years ago in the Palm Springs area and I fell in love with the restaurant. I love the fresh shrimp plate. It's my favorite. The food is healthy well presented and very tasty. Everybody's very nice and if I need help with the order, they take care of it. I love the restaurant itself because it is aesthetically pleasing. I'm glad I found this one in Riverside because the one in the Palm Springs area is closed. I will definitely keep coming back to this location. read more

Another customer noticed too and told me it's ridiculous. I come here weekly probably more than what my wallet wants lol. There isn't a feed back/survey type option at this location so I figured I'd share it here. Food and quality taste are always consistent given that my sauces are usually ordered on the side. Also consistent is the one worker who is always on his feet. He's hardworking, and very on top of things. They don't wear name tags but he's in his 20s(?) and always wears a mask (thank you for doing so esp working with food ). He's always aware of his surroundings and what needs to be done: welcomes customers, putting food on trays, calling names out, putting away food waste, offering to help customers, etc. I wish your act of service does not get unnoticed. On a last note, I still can't justify tipping because ordering from a kiosk and I go up to counter to claim my food feel very much like food court level service and def not something "shrinkflation" can justify tipping. read more

Great service, I like the smart screen that you can use to order! Nice atmosphere for a fast food kind of restaurant. We had the pina colada which was really strong and amazing. Along with the fried shrimp and calamari plate, which came with a very generous amount of fries. I prefered the calamari, it was super crispy on the outside and tender inside.
