We came in yesterday looking for bar stools for my daughters apartment. On entering we were greeted warmly. The owner was really friendly and gave us a bit of helpful information and then left us to look. Once we had questions he was both attentive and good about making suggestions based on what my daughter shared with him. My daughter ended up purchasing 4 stools. He originally thought he had only had 2 available but offered to order. We left with 2 and he called just a few minutes later letting us know he'd found a way to get us all 4 right away. We recently remodeled our kitchen and family room. The 'finishing touch' was getting just the right bar stools to go with the beautiful new counter. My adult daughter and I went into CA Stools, Bars & Dinettes and were initially met by Rob and then Filippo. They were great! They helped us identify "mid range' stools and offered us one to take home for a "test". We also brought home the fabric and metal samples to play with. We liked it very much. We were able to easily choose the best matches for our rooms, while at home. Took the 'test' stool and fabric/metal choices back and were able to order just what we'd had in mind. They said our order would take several weeks. After a few weeks, we were having a birthday party (mostly in the Covid-friendly back yard...) but friends also wanted to peek at the new kitchen. I called the store "just checking" if by chance our barstool order came in early. They very politely offered to check on it, called me back and reported that the order was running AHEAD of schedule! Yay! On the day of the party, a very nice fellow delivered the stools to our home--just in time! Dealing with this company was lovely--like dealing with a small-town, 'old school' company! Our friends in Alamo purchased four barstools from here and suggested we purchase our swiveling barstools here because the pricing is so fair (about half of restoration hardware or more) and the quality is really good. Ours friends and us even ordered the special outdoor Sunbrella fabric from RESTO and dropped it off and Cal Stools installed the color we desired (Navy Blue) on the barstools' cushions. Rob and the other gentlemen are even dropping off loaner outdoor bar stools at our house while we wait a couple more weeks for the real barstools which (like everything in this world right now) are back-ordered several weeks. We've been searching high and low for the perfect dinette set! We needed something not too big or too tall, not too expensive but something sturdy that will keep up with our 3 kids. Google Maps led us to an old run down strip mall in Pleasant Hill. I honestly didn't even want to stop but mama always told me to never judge a book by its cover. Inside is a HUGE selection of well...obviously stools, bars, dinettes and dining sets! While the glass table tops were scratched up, everything else was affordable solid wood pieces. You can choose to special order a piece which would take weeks OR choose to take the floor model. Since we just moved to Cali and had an empty house, we opted to take the floor model which was in mint condition AND the owner offered us a discount and free next day delivery. The next day, the delivery driver arrived early, was courteous and adjusted the table per my floor needs! So before heading to IKEA for cheap furniture that will probably break the next year, head to California Stools, Bars and Dinettes and spend you a little more for furniture that will last you years! read more

This review is a year (ugh, 2020) in the making (read: late), but that should say a lot about how strongly I feel about California Stools Bars and Dinettes--and especially Rob, who helped us. We use our bar chairs daily and the product/buying experience has been on my mind since late 2019. As some of the reviews have stated: start here. I thought I'd try my hand at finding the right kitchen bar seats/stools online, but don't bother. Walk into this store and walk into the Google results you think your search will generate. Dismayed after bad luck online, we found CSB&D on Yelp. Rob was the consummate pro. He was never pushy, but present for our questions. He pulled out our top choices when we picked them and nimbly added 1-2 more helpful suggestions to round out the pool of finalists. When we found the ideal bar chairs, he suggested a stool--which we opted for and have used a lot over the last year. As we waited for the set to be built and shipped, he gave us lenders so we didn't leave guests (for a fast-approaching dinner party) standing. The lenders were bright orange metal stools, but they saved our hide--and we appreciated it so much. We returned them after we got ours. No fuss. I purchased bar stools from this store over six years ago when they were across from Target. My stool tips finally wore out and I couldn't find a match at any hardware store. I googled the company and sure enough they were still in business just down the street from their original location. I walked in and was immediately greeted and was asked if I needed any help. I pulled out one tip from my pocket and asked if he could help me track this down. He did one better, he went to the back, brought out a box, and looked through a few envelopes. The chairs were very well built and the buying and delivery process went very smooth. In 2022 I needed another set of the same chairs and stools but with different stain and fabric. We visited several times and asked many questions before making a selection. We were moving 150 miles away and were able to borrow a bar stool for a couple of days to try out with the new kitchen. Thats when we realized that our bar counter is extra high and we need 34" high seat stools. We ended up ordering a different stool from the same brand with colors and materials we wanted. I liked to have a bench it gives you more seats per side. It's nice and wide so if you need to put 2 people on the end you can fit 2 chairs there. I love it. We also got these great bar stools. I ordered a new dining room set. I appreciated Rob advising me of the slow delivery due to the supply channel issues of the panic. When the set arrived, there was a defect in the table pop-up leaf. The delivery employee agreed and called Rob. I sent the requested pictures. Rob called me a couple of days later to let me know he and the manufacture agreed to replace the table; made me very happy. The new table arrived and looks great! I also need to compliment the employee who put the table together at my home; did a great job and protected my floor with a packing blanket as he worked. After we remodeled our kitchen, we needed two bar stools for a new, higher counter. We went to California Dining and Bar Stools and found the perfect pair from their wide selection. The stools are a perfect fit and turned the counter into our Zoom studio for remote working. So when we decided to get a new dining table and chairs, we returned to store and again found the perfect set. Filippo let us know it would take a couple of months for the set to arrive from New England and when it did, it was beautiful. Except for one thing -- the manufacturer had changed the padding on the seats and they were too tall for my wife and some friends. Filippo listened carefully to our story, measured what the height should be and then arranged for an upholsterer to remake the seat cushions -- at no cost to us. He brought them by today and they are perfect. Yeah, the boss personally took care of the modifications and the delivery! Excellent selection and excellent service all around. read more
