Paul has saved me in a jam more than once. Almost 10 years ago Paul came out to my duplex off of Camden Avenue to replace the side door of my house after my dog chewed through it to get back inside. Well I should say he replaced the door that I so horribly attempted to put in after my dog chewed a hole through my last door. I was a fool like many others and attempted to change my door alone, by myself and untrained. I am good at general handyman work, so I read a book, watched a video and said hey I'll give it a try. After horribly butchering the replacement door and the frame of my wall, I decided to give a professional like Paul a call. He came out the next day and saved me! He didn't even make me feel bad about all the mistakes I made, he was happy to show me what I did wrong and corrected everything for me. Learn from my mistake, call Paul at California Custom Creations first. read more

We highly recommend Paul. We had single pane windows switched out to new Milgard double pane windows throughout our whole house. He also installed new patio sliding doors, a new front door, and a new back door. His work was very clean, professional, and beautiful. We love the new windows and the new window trims. Our house no longer has any air draft and outside noise is also reduced! Paul was great to work with and trustworthy. We also found his pricing very competitive! read more

Paul was great to work with. It started with remove a sliding glass door and replacing a window that was custom size. I love Milgard windows! He's very communicative, gave some great suggestions, and set expectations appropriately. Next we moved on to having him create a kitchen in our ADU. He guided us along the way, connecting us with places where we could select cabinets and countertops. He and his team did all the work, plumbing, and electricity included. Plus at the end it was more than I expected. His pricing is transparent and very reasonable. I would definitely work with Paul and his team again. read more

Paul installed new glass shower doors. Professionally done. Happy with the work and happy with him. Jan

Was really happy with my new windows from California Custom Windows. We had old windows (maybe 30 years old) with unknown installation quality. Instead of doing retrofit windows Paul put in new construction Millguard windows for the same price others were quoting retrofits. He was very upfront with pricing and all the options as it was somewhat unknown what condition things were going to be when the old windows came out. We added on wood trim inside and at first I was unsure if we should do it but when done it turned out fantastic. Paul was easy to work with, on time, and did a great job cleaning up. They were even extra friendly to my dog hanging out around them while working. read more

Paul and crew are trustworthy and efficient! And reasonably priced. Baseboard throughout, new painted solid core doors.including code certified fire door. R/R he not only put in a beautiful set of French doors which required a much larger header, he handed everything perfectly. I highly recommend his workmanship , attention to detail . And a great value. read more

Paul came for consultation despite his busy schedule and gave us a reasonable quote for installing windows, patio doors and two exterior doors. it took a while for the windows to arrive (not his fault) and he pushed through his busy schedule to help make sure the windows are installed before Thanksgiving. His workmanship is excellent. he doesn't rush to just finish the job for you. He's always open to you asking questions and takes time to explain to you. Highly recommend! read more

What amazing work Paul did to fix our custom front door! The door/frame had shifted so much that we couldn't use it, and we needed someone who knew what they were doing to help. Paul responded quickly to my request and gave us a reasonable quote. He came out in a couple of days and removed the trim, replumbed the door, and put it all back together in under an hour. We can finally use our front door again! Paul was great to work with, he was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I would definitely call on him again for future work. read more

Hi My name is Jim and I'm a retired general contractor. I recently purchased new windows and doors for my house in Willow Glen. Once I received the doors and windows , I started looking for an installer. I knew after my first conversation with Paul , the owner of California Custom Creations, I had found my installer. As a contractor, I could see Paul knew what he was talking about. And after I received his bid I was sure. Removing and replacing windows and doors is one of the most invasive projects you can do to your home for many reasons like the mess and security. Paul and his son Kyle showed up every day on time, kept dust to a minimum and secured the house each day. Their attention to detail and quality workmanship comes only from someone who loves what they do. That makes a huge difference in quality and peace of mind. You can't watch every minute what someone is doing and with California Custom Creations, you don't need to because their personal standards are so high. I highly recommend these guys for price, ethics, and consideration. You won't be disappointed. Feel free to call me if you have further questions. 4087096383. read more

California Custom is an excellent source for quality doors and windows. I had my whole house completed and Paul and his team went the extra mile to detail my slider trim and more. Zero damage what-so-ever to anything. They left my spaces cleaner than they found them. I was so pleased, I am engaging Paul and his team on a second property we own. Highly experienced. read more

Just completed round #1 of a remodel project. Paul happens to be our neighbor so we called him for an estimate. He replaced all of our interior doors with solid core doors, replaced a bedroom window with a slider, replaced a living room slider with French doors, replaced baseboard throughout the house, built "temporary" decks by the new outdoor doors (that are well built and sturdy enough to last for several years), replaced a bathroom window and installed two fire safe doors. All of the work was completed in a timely fashion and at a reasonable price. Paul is very personable and professional. He made recommendations after listening to what we were looking for without trying to oversell us anything. In addition, he gave us referrals for other projects we were working on. He will definitely be our guy for future projects. read more

If you have any windows/sliding doors that need to be replaced do yourself a favor and speak with Paul from CCC. What separates Paul from the other dozens of contractors is simple - customer service. Don't get me wrong, Paul is extremely knowledgable; he's been doing this for 15+ years and did a fantastic job with our windows/doors...but what we appreciated the most was his level of customer service. We live in an old 70's home in Campbell with aluminum windows and sliding doors. From the moment I called for an estimate, Paul was very easy to talk to, and came over the same day to give us a quote. During the walk through Paul provided us with a lot of useful information about our window options, the pros and cons associated with each, and what would be the most cost effective. I had previously met with 3 other vendors and Paul's quote was the lowest. He was also willing to work with me in terms of payment options. While we were waiting for the materials to arrive Paul was always responsive to emails and phone calls. The job itself took him one full day, and they did an amazing job. He even helped us fix a bedroom door and got rid of some junk for us that was lying in our backyard. Working with Paul was easy, and he is someone you can trust. The quality of his work speaks for itself, but it's the level of customer service that separates him from the rest. We plan on working with Paul again when we replace our front entry door, and if you have any window/door projects around the house you should give him a ring. You'll be glad you did! read more

I had a short time line and I had talked to Paul about getting a window replaced with a sliding door. We discussed his availability and he was able to fit me into his schedule. Paul was an absolute pleasure to work with and I could not be happier with the work and work ethic that he brought to the job. Exceptional professionalism and experience is what I experienced. Thank you Paul for working with me on my timeline and thank you for the awesome installation! Highly Recommended! read more

We knew the sliding doors we wanted, searched for the manufacturer's installers and we liked California Custom's reviews. Paul came out, provided varied options and we selected a path forward. This required a collaborative interface with our general contractor, where Cal Custom would work hand in hand to install. Paul was on time, on budget and interfaced very well. All parties are pleased with the results. Cal Custom's involvement integrated well into a full scale multi room project. Key for us is responsiveness. Paul is responsive. The best way to assess a vendor is seeing how they react to getting thrown a curve ball. We had a small issue with one of the manufacturer's accessories design, where it met spec, but we wanted it a bit different. Paul took care of it, sorted it out and we had our needs resolved in short order. We have no hesitation in using them again and no hesitation to recommend. Thanks Paul ! dean read more

Fantastic professional to work with. Paul came over, did a great estimate, and then came in to put in 8 new doors internally, a new screen door, a new doggie door in the wall, new outside door, new kitchen door and a cool new barn door to block off an open room. He and his team clean up after themselves, are very professional and made sure we were happy with the doors. There was some miscommunication at the start when he could start but that was quickly resolved and they also did the job promptly and quicker than I expected. read more

Paul and his crew did an outstanding job retrofitting a garden window! His approach in identifying the risks and advantages to the new window instillation were above board and informative. A key issue in this effort was to install the window with out cutting the existing counter top that extended in to the garden window area! With tender loving care Jose and Rafael accomplished this instillation with the delicacy of surgeons. Paul's sincere upfront approach is refreshing in this day and age! read more

I found Paul on Yelp and called him for a quote on a garden window and was glad to get a preliminary quote and not just the run of the mill "let me come take a look response before I quote you". He was responsive to questions throughout the review of the work to be done including during the process of installing the window. He is truly methodical and would help perfect the job if requested. Paul Wagner is truly the man you want to trust with your desired window jobs. I would use him again if I need other work done on my home windows and doors. read more

Paul did a great job with installing one custom/non-standard french window, custom french doors and our front door. Job was perhaps a bit unusual but Paul was able to offer helpful suggestions based on his experience. Paul had to put off the job due to weather backing up his schedule but always kept us in the loop as to next steps. Once onsite, did a great job, very skilled, courteous and friendly. Highly recommend him. Brent/Cara read more

Paul did an excellent job with the window project on my house. Project consisted of 14 new windows and a new door leading out to the back yard. Very professional, was on time each day without fail. Very friendly, I think my dog thought he was there to visit him each day. Was very careful around the house. Took the time to clean up at the end of each day. I absolutely love the windows...has already made a difference in the amount I use my heater. Saving money already. I would certainly refer Paul for any window job. I am glad with the choice of going with his business. If you need new windows...or doors....you can't go wrong with Paul read more

Paul's professionalism and experience are top notch. We hired him to repair damaged siding and to install a larger window on the same wall. Better late than never. This review is way overdue. Paul came to the rescue when our contractor had a medical issue and could not complete the cabinet install. All items were already ordered and enroute to our home. The original contractor Tom, gave us Paul's name and number and we could not be more pleased. Paul picked up the baton, or should I say hammer (ha ha), and finished the job for us in time for our visitors arriving. He went over and above to make sure we were happy with playroom built-ins. My husband and I would recommend Paul for any projects you might have, but I must say our grandkids playroom is exceptional. read more

We were referred to California Custom Creations through a friend and were very pleased with the work Paul did. During the consultation Paul explained everything in detail( something previous companies did not do) we were pleased to find out that the cost was significantly less than previous quotes. The quality of work was phenomenal. They were on time, professional and tidy. They replaced 4 windows for our new home and we were so pleased we had them come back out a few months later to replace our sliding glass door. I would highly recommend this company, Paul was a pleasure to work with. read more

Paul and California Custom Creations are top notch! There were six medium sized windows that he replaced with new modern windows. The HOA had to approve them and he tracked that down for the job too. Paul Wagner is the owner of this company. When site visit, he explained in detail of all the questions I've had in mind. For example, the difference between vinyl and aluminum. What he can do compare with other vendors, etc... He contacted the HOA to find out all requirement details, etc... He knows exactly what needs to be done when encountered problem to deliver a 9ft patio door frame to my apartment unit. He also would clean up the area when the job is complete. Very responsible. The materials used are in high quality as described. Currently, my home is more quite and warmer than it used to be. Highly recommended. read more

California Custom Creations replaced all the windows and sliding doors in my house in early 2015. Most windows were retrofitted, but a couple of them had to be done as new construction. Paul Wagner, the owner and operator, is great to deal with. He gave me a really competitive quote, well-built products, fast and extremely competent installation. Two years later, I am still happy with the windows and doors. My house's curb appeal was definitely increased after this project's completion. Paul stands behind his work, so if you ever have a problem he'll take care of you. A word of advice, though: the best way to get a hold of him is the phone number that's indicated on the website. Trying via email or LinkedIn may not get a response. read more

I have some newly installed French doors that I couldn't get adjusted to my satisfaction. After trying all the standard adjustments, I still wasn't happy so I began looking for a 'door guy' on Yelp. I called California Custom Creations and left a message. Paul returned my call within minutes and after describing my door issues, he offered to stop by that evening to take a look at the doors. After taking a few minutes to understand my concerns and assess the door installations, Paul offered some suggestions on how I could solve the issues myself. He was very direct and honest about what he could do and encouraged me to try a few things before hiring him to make modifications. He even offered to lend me some tools if I needed them. So, in summary, following my initial contact with California Custom Creations, Paul met me at my home within a few hours (after normal working hours), explained to me how I may be able to fix the problem, offered to lend me tools, and refused to take a payment for his advice. Although California Custom Creations didn't perform any work, I wanted to share the positive experience of working with Paul. He showed up as promised, recognized that hiring him to take care of my door issue may not be the best solution for me (and told me that), and wouldn't accept any money for his time and expert insights. Because of Paul's approach and attitude, I will definitely contact him if I should need his services in the future. read more

I have contacted Paul based on the great reviews here on Yelp. We needed to open one of the walls in our house and install new french door . At first I was disappointed at how not responsive he was -few times he said he will come to see what needs to be done and never did without saying anything (very unprofessional). But I was patient. I gave him the drawings approved by the city of San Jose with permit to do the project. He needed it for the bid. But then he kept postponing giving me the bid too. Eventually he did and the bid he gave me was surreal ( totally not competitive). This was just one hour before he said over the phone that he can not give me the bid because something was missing from the drawings (which was not the case) I would appreciate much more him saying directly that he wont do the project. Sorry to ruin great reviews but my experience unfortunately was different. I have waited for him so long just to be refused in such a rude and unprofessional way. read more
