I highly enjoyed eating and drinking at this spot! Pizza was new and very unique. I wish they would have the Parmesan shakers and offered additional ranch for free. Not much service, order by QR code find a seat and enjoy to eat!

What a fun place to eat, drink and hangout in Davis! Great beer menu and other yummy drinks : both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. We tried 5 different kind of beers (IPAs and stout) and they were all very tasty. Foods are good too. I loved my Cobb salad, huge volume and tasty toppings, and you gotta try their Dirty Fires! So good. Super friendly and attentive service, makes you want to come back again and again.

This was our first visit to this brewery. As it is in a popular area parking can be very difficult to find. When you walk up to the brewery you see there is plenty of indoor and outdoor space with heaters for colder temperatures. They have a good selection of beers and cocktails and a food menu. Staff were friendly and the bartenders assisted with our cocktails and a flight of beer. We enjoyed the pizza and shishito peppers.

You had me at vegan pizza and beer! Such a cool place. I enjoyed the outside heaters, cornhole game, picnics tables outside are a good extension of the indoor space. I like the rollup doors, it feels like I'm still a part of the ambience inside while sitting outside. I enjoyed the hip-hop music they played. It wasn't too loud or had any foul language, it added to the vibe. The staff behind the bar were amazing. Can you believe the drinks aren't only $10?! Great pricing and they have a vegan pizza options. And shout out to Aaron behind the bar who was so personable and just a vibe!

My friend was celebrating the 20th anniversary of his 21st birthday here. It was my first time so I was excited to go! We made it to Happy Hour with 30 minutes to spare. I ordered the Baja Fries (carnitas, jalapeños, crispy shallots, cotija, pickled red onion, chipotle crema). I wasn't expecting a big portion since it was Happy Hour and an appetizer, but it was HUGE! I ended up taking half home - WIN! The fries were crunchy still and there was a good amount of meat. I didn't taste much of the chipotle crema or the cotija, but there were PLENTY of jalapeños - way too many for me. I had a slice of the pepperoni pizza while I waited. The crust is VERRRY thin. It was flavorful and the pepperoni was kind of spicy so that was a pleasant surprise. I only drank water, but I heard the drinks were all pretty good. Our birthday boy enjoyed his shots! I forgot to take pictures of the brewery itself but the vibe was awesome. There was a game area with cornhole and Connect Four. I think some more ambient lighting outside might have been nice, but that would be my only suggestion. I will definitely be back!

This place is such a good time! Went here on a date. It was our first time visiting and the service was amazing! Our bartender Georgie was so friendly and helpful. She Recommended us beers, drinks, food and helped us order our flight. We are definitely going to be coming back. Especially considering they have a rewards program. Super fun first time experience!

Yayyyy Davis!!! This is a lovely new addition to the town and I see huge potential for live music, large events, birthday parties, etc. The food is good although I took a star off bc I could do with some more veg options. Love the ambiance and the friendly staff. The kids were happily occupied w the lawn games while we continued to drink.

The beer was good. Nothing super amazing and worth going out of my way for, though. I liked the flight option but feel $4.50 for a 5 oz. pour is a bit steep. The food has potential. We ordered the shishito peppers, musubi fries, and kids grilled cheese sandwich. Kid enjoyed her grilled cheese on a burger bun. The shishito peppers would have been soooooo much better if the sauce came on the side. They were so gluey ans overwhelmed with the amount that came on them. The musubi fries were also oversaturated with way too much sauce and were way too sweet. Gloopy and sugary instead of spicy and savory as expected. Some suggestions-- 1) if you keep your Toast ordering platform, activate an option for folks to request sauces on the side. 2) Slice the musubi and grill both sides before cutting into larger cubes. Musubi has a nice char to it. These tiny, soggy pieces did not and were underwhelming. Service was very friendly and I liked the different screens and lawn games available. Plenty of seating, too. Those were perks.

Beer is good but nothing special. Service is slow, I thought it would speed up as they got their feet under them but it hasn't happened. Nice location and ambiance and I hear the food is good though I've only tried the hummus. A couple other places in town with better beer and better selection.

Very cute spot for a hang-out with drinks! I was excited to see that they were opening a brewery in this specific area because it adds balance to the activities that you can do here plus there used to be a popular establishment here back in my college days. The flight I got had unique flavors and they were definitely pretty strong We also got a pizza but I was too busy yapping and forgot to snap a picture! The interior was aesthetically pleasing and gave off warm vibes. Need to go again!

The pizza was so perfectly thin I loved it! Drinks were great, there is plenty of seating, food and drinks came out quickly. Definitely a chill place to hangout on Friday nights if you wanna skip the downtown chaos.

What a beautiful venue, event space, and just a nice hangout for a beer/cocktail and food. This location was breathtaking and spacious. Georgina (one of our event staff waiters) was very attentive and handled the craziness our party brought like a true champion. I grabbed a Aperol Seltzer Spritz that was executed perfectly and the bartenders mixology skills were very on point (wish I got his name). I also decided to order the Pizza Slipper (which depending on the part of the country you're from is known as a Wedgie or a better well-known Calzone. A must try if you love a sour dough crust. Come in for the food and the hospitality.

Such a great brewery to visit! We used to love going to their Concord location, so we were so excited to find out Calicraft is now in Davis and so much closer to us. We ordered the Baja fries -- loved that they came with plenty of jalapeños (I'm a spice lover!) and the portion was perfect for two people. We tried a few beers, and the staff was amazing -- super friendly, knowledgeable, and spot-on with their recommendations based on our preferences. We'll definitely be back!

We…read morevisited this place for the first time as part of a birthday party (but it was actually a cover for the birthday celebrant to propose to his girlfriend -- teehee -- which he did, on the second-floor balcony, and our group got to watch and cheer from the ground). It was a cold afternoon/evening in December, but we dressed warmly and stayed by the firepit. There were maybe 4-6 other clusters of people there also, and definitely another birthday party going on because the guests were singing along loudly to a special request playlist that the staff played on the speaker for them. I thought it was a good number of people considering how cold and dark it got. Our group brought a bunch of kids, and they pretty much explored the grounds the whole time -- feeding the animals, making friends with other kids, and having a blast. Food from the food truck was fine, just be careful leaving your food out unattended because some random dog gobbled our burger when we weren't looking. It's a beautiful spot. We should all be so grateful for having access to it, basically for free. Drinks were good. Good vibes. Super relaxing to be out in nature. Friendly staff. As of this review, you can reserve areas for parties/events for free, and you can bring in your own food and drinks, excluding alcohol, of course, since they are a brewery. I'm sure it gets crazy busy during the warmer months, but it is worth a visit even in the cold. Just dress right.

Though near the 80, Ruhstaller Farm is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. There's no conspicuous signage. It's easily possible to drive right by & never know what's here. & yet, the few times I've been here, generally later on a Friday or Saturday night, it's obvious that Ruhstaller Farm is the busiest place for many miles around in any direction. It's somewhat puzzling to me. Add in the idyllic bucolic vibes, & this place feels is a bit surreal to me. There's something about the frolicking farm ambiance here that reminds me of the Aliki Farms skit from the 1st episode Portlandia.* So how do I know about Ruhstaller Farm? A friend I homebrewed with for years lives in Dixon. Being beer nerds enough to brew it ourselves, we'd stumbled across Ruhstaller beers a long time ago. That early stuff was rough. The beers pouring now at Ruhstaller Farm are definitely a drastic improvement. The bar staff has always been friendly. & really, this is a nice place to relax & enjoy a beer. But that's it. I'll come through once in a while & have a beer or 2. I'm not staying. No matter how much anyone might say they'd love me to stay, & I'm absolutely not putting on a frilly dress. *https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If41cZMBgqA

While a certain amount of preferential treatment for familiar faces is simply human nature, the contrast felt greater than what could be considered good service. Maybe the Local was only for locals. More recently, on another trip staying in downtown Davis, I decided to give the Local another whirl. Pulling up a stool at the bar on a Saturday afternoon, the bartender extended a friendly greeting. Huh. Service was personable, knowledgeable, & attentive this time around. After a little conversation, I found out he was filling for the regular bartender. Huh. Well OK, then. So I got to trying some beers. They don't do taster pours/ flights here. Everything's at least 1/2 pours. The bartender informed me that they do taster pours/ flights at their brewery location in town. Just not here. Honestly, that's a bummer for me. But I had a few 1/2 pours to taste what they got. For someone who's a bit beer snobby, has far too many 1000's of beer check-ins on Untappd, & once-upon-a-time homebrewed for many years, the beers were good. Not whale-hype mind blowing. But good. Service was nice this visit. It'll be interesting to see which Dunloe Brewing I get on any possible future visit to the Local...
