Jose Carillo and his techs are AWESOME!!!!! My passenger windows on my 2020 Ford Explorer were sticking and very slow in closing. The rear passenger window was the worst and would VERY SLOWLY close half way, then stop, then I would have to manually pull the window up. Caliber had done some repair work in July, 2024, on those panels so I emailed him if he had any ideas on what it could be. He told me to stop by, I showed him the issues, he took the car back to his tech and WALAH!!!!! Completely fixed!!! He said the windows had become unbalanced so his tech put them back into balance. Estimates are unrealistic. I took my car here suggested by Geico app, after a week they gave the estimates/parts list - some of the things did not make sense. They listed parts that not associated with the damage at all. They removed the inner trim and destroyed the back side when the damage was in the front end. They dodge calls and kept saying they will return calls but will not. The person that worked on my car for some reason disassembled my gas lever for no reason. AAA sent me here. I met Nolan who was amazing and set a realistic expectation of paintless dent removal, potential paint blending and new trim. He told me he was super busy pointing to a row of cars ahead of mine. It was Monday, I checked in Friday. Nolan asked for time to get to it as he has been swamped with full totals and other stuff. The following Monday, he said he needed to ask his "GM" to help. Well, help AAA is what he should have said. Tuesday, Nolan calls to inform me the manager, Michael, changed everything and submitted the estimate as a "buff out." That would leave a dent! Nolan even tried to talk to AAA letting them know he had me coming back for a more indepth review and they told him too bad, this is now the estimate. Of course, I do not trust them now. The helpful manager never called me to discuss or inform me of this executive decision and now I have to take my car elsewhere to get supplemental assessments to get the car repaired properly. Thank you, Michael, at CC for blowing up a new customer's expectation set by your employee and for a memorable experience! You have caused unnecessary stress and force me to waste more time on an accident that was never my fault! If it was just a "buff out," why didn't Nolan say that at the first meeting and save me a week of chasing down an estimate, especially because you all are soooo busy? You never laid eyes on the car and pictures of a black car are hard to assess. If Nolan was taking too much liberty with his estimate, a simple phone call to discuss would have been in order, right? I took my 2003 Honda Accord to Caliber Collision in Simi Valley, CA to repair what another branch of Caliber in another state had done previously. The original work looked fine when it was completed, but over the last few years, flaws became evident. Let this be a lesson to other consumers. Does your body shop provide a lifetime warranty to the original owner on their repairs? Caliber does! Caliber Collision in Simi Valley. CA not only met and exceeded my expectations, but the shop went even further above and beyond. I'm insured by AAA, so I called them to let them know of the problem with the original job that was through my insurance. The agent told me to take it to the nearest Caliber shop. I did not know there are nearly 1,700 branches in 41 states. I am no longer in the state where the original work was done, so I took my car to one of three Caliber shops in my area. I made an appointment and showed my original repair estimate to the general manager, Ramish "Mish" McCarthy. I showed him the problems, and then the magic happened. Mish assured me that all my concerns would be addressed and taken care of. This was all warranty work to be done at no cost to me. Mish is one of those rare individuals I have encountered whose ever-present smile and genuine caring attitude shines through the ultimate professionalism with which he performs his duties. I come to this opinion with some authority. In a former life I was a Zone Service Manager with the now-defunct Pontiac Motor Division. In my work capacity, I was responsible for overseeing our field reps handling factory warranty repairs for hundreds of dealerships that included their body shops. I wish there had been clones of Mish in those dealerships' body shops! I asked to be made whole again by fixing what went wrong with the original work. Without hesitation, Mish took my car and put me in a similar-size rental car. The repairs and rental car expense were taken care of by my Caliber warranty. Through their online system, I received emails along the way to let me know of the progress towards completion of my car's repairs. Finally, I received the message that my car was ready and off I went in the rental car to Caliber. I was greeted by name when I entered the office. The front office staff are all so nice, smiling and professional in every way. Mish would be right out, and he was. Leading with his smile and kind greeting, he brought my car to the front of the building for inspection and delivery. I did not expect the perfection that I witnessed. My car was cleaned, inside and out, including the carpeted mat in the trunk. It was not just washed and vacuumed and the windows cleaned inside and out, but the floor mats and custom carpeted trunk mat were washed as if with a carpet cleaning machine that left a pleasant odor and a visible pattern on the pile. Great care was taken in this delivery step! Think about this. When buying a car, the delivery experience is critical and sets the tone for what should be a happy customer from then on. It should put a smile on the customer's face. The car should be shiny and clean with a distinct and pleasant odor, which shows the customer the care with which the car has been prepped for delivery. Ideally, when a customer has body work done, the delivery experience is equally important and is indicative of the shop's attitude towards complete customer satisfaction. And then it is the quality of the completed work that can further motivate the customer to have good feelings about the shop. Mish is the face of this shop in my experience there. I witnessed other employees treating incoming customers in a similar way, with a smile, a personal greeting and a professional intake experience. Upon inspection of my car, Mish pointed out that the paint was renewed as needed and beyond. Mish had his crew prep and repaint complete panels so there was no trace of blending that would have been an ever-present reminder that a re-do had occurred. This is the very embodiment of doing the right thing. I recently replaced a tail light bulb and accidentally dropped the failed bulb into the tail light assembly. I knew that the only way to extract it was to remove the tail light assembly, which could only be accomplished by first removing the bumper. This is not a quick job for someone who does not have a lift and body shop experience, so I left it alone, something to remind me of my goof. I did not call attention to this when reviewing the needed repairs with Mish. On the walk-around at Caliber, I noticed that the bulb I dropped into the tail light assembly was gone. A thoughtful, caring employee who takes pride in workmanship obviously noticed that dead bulb and took the time to remove it. Above and beyond service! Converted a bad experience into a good one in two weeks flat! If you live and drive in LA, even the most cautious driver will find themselves at an automotive repair shop at some point--which is where my daughter and I found ourselves a few weeks ago. Although she had parked far away from the rest of the cars in the mall parking lot, somehow someone still managed to sideswipe her 2002 Nissan Altima and removed her mirror. Fortunately, the culprit left a note and had insurance; whom she'd already contacted. After a conversation or two, the insurance company gave us a list of Authorized body shops and we chose Caliber Collision in Simi Valley; mostly based upon location (it is located on Easy street!) Our bad experience with Caliber began with our initial phone call to set up an appointment. The woman that scheduled our appointment asked if we would need a rental car , but after learning that we needed one she gave us an appointment over two weeks later, on a Friday. Fast-forward to the appointed day--when we were told that rental cars were not available on Fridays! No reasonable answer was given to the question of 'why would a customer who needed a rental car (and that was pre-approved by the insurance company) be given an appointment on a day when rental cars were unavailable?' Fortunately, we had garnered the attention of Anthony Trejo who said he'd take a few photos of the damage and order the parts; without requiring custody of the car. Mr. Trejo said that he would personally oversee our repair and he confirmed that the parts had been ordered later that day. Nearly a week passed and we met with Mr. Trejo the following Thursday morning. True to his word Anthony had us on our way in less than 30 minutes! The replacement mirror works perfectly and the finish is indistinguishable from the rest of the car. In addition, they gave it a complimentary car-wash. Mr. Trejo also offered to facilitate getting our headlight covers polished and even getting a broken door handle replaced--taken together with the excellent workmanship, lightning fast turn-around time and free car wash; Anthony demonstrates a mastery of Customer Service that I have rarely encountered and am happy I experienced. I have used this body shop a number of times over the years when it was El Dorado. and after it became Caliber and was satisfied with the work. However, this time I went in to get an estimate for a minor repair to a plastic panel that had pulled loose. I was told I needed to make an appointment just to get an estimate!! The next appointment was a week later. Seriously?? I need to wait a week just to get an estimate? I have to wonder how long after that to get the work done.
