Fortunately for me, they were willing to take the job. I am thrilled with the results. The work the shop did was awesome and done at a very reasonable price. I felt like they were looking out for my interests and even after I confirmed paint color choice, they made a new sample for me to see before final paint. Unfortunately, we were side swiped by a hit-and-run driver, so we brought our car in to John after my dad recommended him. Upon arrival, someone from the shop helped us right away and John came right out to look at our car. Once we left our car with him, John and his team got our car all fixed up in about 11 days. Before shipping my car to South Carolina where I will be moving, I wanted to have a new set of headlights installed on my car to replace the original lights that were now clouded over. Towed my car to him because of good review from a auto repair that I trust and that was recommended by aaa my insurance. John had my car for 6 months and got it back and towed to a repair shop for other repairs . Found out that front hood not installed properly, front bumper , but the thing that set me off was the tech had cut all my lighting wires on my 60 year old car and never reinstalled or told me about it. I had my car repaired here in December and it was finally completed mid January. While the staff was friendly the overall quality was not A+ material. My BMW had front end damage and air bag deployment. They are indeed a AAA approved shop but lack some of the key quality fundamentals. The paint did not match perfectly and they did not see a problem. AAA ended up talking to them to have the paint redone but even now after all is said and done it isn't a great match. Customer service good but if you are taking your car be sure to ask about blending, etc... Make sure and address that prior to them completing the job. Also time frame estimates were never accurate. **** Update in response to comment.**** John, while I can appreciate being at the mercy of dealer for BMW ordered parts I was more referring to the time frame for the "redo" on my car. In reference to the blending. As I had mentioned to you then the car had never had body/paint work done to the hood or fenders that surrounded the bumper cover you replaced/painted, AAA even noted that. To be specific the previous body work was done to the rear bumper, other than that the entire vehicle was the same consistent black as the hood and fenders. I do appreciate that the second time around the bumper was blended into the fenders but the hood still was not blended and still has a noticeable difference. Again as I mentioned earlier this is more of a heads up that other customers should be aware of considering it was not blended or mentioned to me initially as I feel it should have been. SUPERB!! Why?! Because they did TWO very important things excellently: 1.) amazing customer service and 2.) quality work. Aren't those the two main things we as consumers look for? Next to purchasing a home, I would say investing in our cars is a big deal. Had to have a light fixture repaired on our new car. The whole process was painless. I was immediately greeted and helped when I arrived. I appreciated the attention to detail both Peter and John provided for us. I had my two little children with me and they were all so helpful to offer help for me to carry car seats and being willing to help. There was shuttle service provided for us while we waited for the car. The turnaround time for our fix was quick- about 2-3 hours or so. While I don't want to return for any repairs minor or major to this body shop, if we had to, I wouldn't even think twice to go anywhere else. I would return to 1st Collison. Quality work + quality customer service= trustworthy. Just a tip: they are located in the same lot as the Chevrolet Dealer on the NW corner of Cochran and First. If you're driving west on Cochran, enter at the last driveway on your right side. Look for the little signs that say "First Collison". And, then drive all the way back and up. read more

I was referred to First Collision by my fiance, we both has similar situations in which we were not at fault for the accidents/damage and the at fault's insurance tried to screw us over but John and his crew at First Collision made sure it didnt happen. Long story short, they had to replace the whole drivers side of her brand new civic with after market(used) parts. They did not let it slide and went to bat for her when the insurance company tried to refuse the rental service. My story was a little similar in which John and his crew took good care of me. The insurance company had to come out 3 times for 3 different estimated because they somehow kept "forgetting" to assess the damage to the rear of the vehicle, when i was rearended! Anyhow, just want to let you know these guys must really enjoy their job because they dont give you the attitude like "What do you want?" they are really nice and give off the feeling/vibe they really care. I needed my car repaired from a accident from the other Insurance Company that gave me their recommended body shops in Simi. After having the car estimated buy both body shops (other on Easy St who talk down to me ). I had my car repaired after talking to Peter and John at 1st Collision that totally made me feel at home. John and Pete are the two nicest guys. I've been to them three times now. The first was for a shard of metal that busted my sun-roof on the freeway. And the other two were car accidents (one of them recent). My car was not driveable after the last accident, so it got towed to a tow yard until I released it to AAA. Well after I released it, AAA was dragging their feet to have it towed over to First Collision. I didn't hear from my adjuster for three days. So John called and offered to pay the towing charges to have the vehicle released to First Collision and it was all taken care of same-day! By the way, not only are they nice; but their work is great! My car has come back looking great each time they've worked on it! I feel 100% comfortable with my car in their hands :-) read more

Accident on 4/1. Went to insurance on 4/2 and they advised to go to Body Shop on their list which would avoid an insurance adjuster. Looked at reviews of area body shops and chose 1st Collision. They were on the insurance list. John handled us. He assessed the damage, took pictures, and gave us a print out of the estimation. Advised us how long it would take. All this was on 4/2. He called back later that day to inform us of the increase in the estimate after the body part that was damaged was removed. He e-mailed a new estimate. The insurance company also called a few times showing how well the communication was between the two entities. We were informed of the part coming in a day later than expected and that the original finish date was moved back. Auto ready on that date, 4/8, and looked good, ran well. As one can see all the steps were handled as one would hope and done very expeditiously. I heartily recommend 1st Collision for all your body shop work. read more
