Since Greg had previously worked on another vehicle of mine, I trusted his experience and judgment. I took my vehicle to him, and he asked me to leave it with him so that he and Vivian could evaluate the damage and handle the necessary inspection. Based solely on the photos, AAA estimated the damage at approximately $6,500, while Greg initially estimated the repairs at approximately $2,500. However, Greg explained that he needed to inspect the vehicle more thoroughly, including opening the trunk and removing the bumper, to determine the full extent of the damage and whether the vehicle was worth repairing. After Greg completed his inspection and confirmed that the vehicle was, in fact, totaled, I felt more comfortable with the decision because I had received an in-person professional assessment rather than relying solely on photos. Having Greg inspect the vehicle and provide his professional opinion gave me reassurance that the determination was based on the actual condition of the car. While other shops quoted me $1,600 for a full mirror replacement Greg from Simi Collision Center showed me that wasn't necessary. First of all he got the housing and glass mirror remounted and in a working state free of charge. He then explained to me that all I need is an inexpensive housing, where I can buy one and how to easily install it myself if I chose to. I prefer to have a professional do the job so I'll have Greg do it and post an update when the jobs complete!

A little back story first; I happen to have a high end vehicle where parts and labor are exceptionally high. The dealership that most of the work done is also in that bracket and will say and do whatever it takes to make $$$$$. So, when I had a wrap removed recently, some of my vehicles auto features and alerts were not working effectively. I called my dealership and I was told to bring the vehicle in and they would do a diagnostic to determine the issue. They also gave me an estimate for the issue in question, and it included removing the front bumper and replacing a wiring harness for one of my headlights. They also gave me an estimate for that particular job, which around 6K. Of course, I'm sure they were accurate with the quote for this particular car and the particular issue, however, what if you could find a business that also operates in the vehicle repair and restoration business? Well, this brings me to the point. I know Will, and Craig at Iron Horse, and thought I should get a second opinion. I rolled up and told them what was going on, and showed them the "defective light" alert on my dash, at which point they told me to turn my signals on and my headlights on. It was at this moment you discover quality and character matters. Craig and Will found that one of my sidelight bulbs was t connected. They connected it. Problem solved....free of charge. They just saved me 6K. They could have told me the same thing O'Gara did, but they chose honor, honesty over money. That is never heard of. Two shops told me they would have to drill into the car and leave a plug on the inside panel, and even then, they couldn't guarantee it would look 100%. Then I took it to The Dent Man and spoke with Han. He immediately said he could get the dent out without drilling, and I was able to schedule the repair for the very next day. The result was absolute perfection! You would never know the dent was ever there. Han told me it would take about two hours, and he had it finished right at the two-hour mark. They fixed the car after a few days and continuously updated me with the original parts that were ordered from Japan instead of locally manufactured Taiwanese or Chinese options. They also worked with my insurance company and rental agency to give us a loaner and certainly updated the whole team who was involved in the process. They called us on the phone and shared daily updates and repairs that was being done to the car. Our car was also stored and secured in the garage and protected from the elements which other repair outlets don't seem to care. The service advisor was very professional and collaborated with my insurance adjuster to complete the repair and also facilitated the payment of the necessary fees relative to my coverages. The actual repair work came out okay, but when I got my car back, the rubber molding around my sunroof was damaged and hanging down. I rarely, if ever, use my sunroof, and this was not an issue before I brought the car in. When I brought it to their attention, they denied causing the damage but offered to order the replacement molding for me. I agreed and paid for the part. When the part came in, I discovered it was the wrong color -- gray/white instead of black, which is what my car has. I returned the incorrect part and was told they would see if it could be returned and that I could get my money back. Now they are telling me they will not refund me and that I'm stuck with the wrong part and need to come pick it up. This entire situation has been incredibly frustrating. Every time I went in, I dealt with Rick, and I constantly felt like I was bothering him or wasting his time just by asking reasonable questions about my own vehicle and the issues I was having. Customers should not be made to feel that way, especially after leaving their car with a business for a month and spending money on repairs. At this point, I'm less upset about the part itself than I am about how poorly this situation has been handled. Good customer service means taking responsibility, communicating clearly, and working with the customer to resolve a problem. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience here. Just wanted to update you I did cancel the $78 on my credit card ridiculous that they want me to pay for the wrong part that they ordered.
