My car looks amazing!!! The passenger's side door and front fender was damaged and needed to be repaired. The shop was on my insurance list of approved repair shops and it was the one with the highest rankings on Yelp and Google. I decided to take it in for an estimate and was pleased with the initial experience. I was told by customers that also had their car repaired that I would be happy and could trust the shop. I was initially disappointed with the turn around time and later found out that the shop had a lot of cars to repair during the time my car was being fixed. Pro: interior cleaning. Con: small parking lot, poor update communication. Had an accident where the other driver back out of a driveway and dented my driver door panel. I would say the damage was slightly above minor. Using the other driver insurance all state I brought the car to caliber collision. Initial I brought the car here to get damage assessed, then I schedule a day to drop off the car, and then you wait for them to repair the car. The communication for updates was really poor here. I drop the car off on 11/18 and then it was just silence. I called on 11/25 about a week later to check on the progress of the repair and learned that parts needed to be ordered and got an estimated finished date. The funny thing is about 30 minutes after I made the call I received a text about updated completion time and that " repair is coming around nicely". Like if I never made the call to check in would caliber collusion ever updated me?? In my opinion when the mechanics finish their initial assessment of the damage the car owner should be updated asap about the plan such if parts needed be ordered or not and the estimated completion date. So, communication was very sup-par. My completion date got pushed back by 3 days. After 3 weeks I went to pick up the car, the repaired was very satisfactory and they even clean the interior a bit which was cool. All in all, an ok experience. read more

I see why this place has some of the reviews it does. It's horrible! Maybe I should have read them before bringing my vehicle here! I was rear-ended on December 11th. Brought my car in for repairs on December 14th. The other party took responsibility through their insurance, Liberty Mutual. I was given an estimated date of December 27th for completed repairs. Just about two weeks. I got a rental vehicle through Enterprise while they did the repairs. My vehicle was not ready on December 27th as promised. I had to keep calling and checking on the status. The communication was beyond ridiculous. Left work early on numerous occasions. At one point, Enterprise called me saying that the rental had not been extended, and I would have to pay out of pocket. Simple communication and honesty would have prevented this horrible but absolutely warranted review!! After persistent calling and even going into the shop to check on my vehicle, it was finally ready on January 13th. More than two weeks than initially promised. Excuse after excuse!!! The work looked fine on the vehicle, but this entire process was a nightmare. It was already traumatizing enough to have been involved in an accident, I didn't need this additional stress!!! I did not appreciate being inconvenienced. I had to postpone plans due to this. All I was told was that there were issues beyond their control. Not acceptable in my book!! Please do better!!! To add insult to injury, although I was able to drive my car home, which is not far from the shop, later that night when I needed to go somewhere, my vehicle won't start due to a low battery. Oh no, I got rear-ended, by a truck! My poor little Volt will never be the same. The insurance company sent me here, and I have to say this was a fairly negative experience. I dropped my car off on Thursday, the 27th, and I received a text message from them indicating that the job would be completed on the 31st (Monday). Wow -- that's fast turn around, right? Except the next day, I got a text updating the repair date from the 31st to the 2nd. And then, on the 1st, I got a text indicating it would be done on the 3rd.... They're estimated completion is just a rolling target. Every single time, "It'll be done in a day or two." Yesterday, the 3rd, I was finally annoyed enough to call them. After 10-15 minutes of time on hold, getting tossed from person to person, I got disconnected. Clarence called me back a minute or two after that -- mildly annoying, but whatever. He indicated the car would be done "this afternoon, just need to wait for the paint to dry. We'll give you a call." Call back late that afternoon, more long holds, more tossing from person to person, trying to find out when, and I'm told to check back tomorrow (which is now today). Today, call back, and find out that... hahahaha -- guess what, they haven't painted the car yet. Thought the paint was drying yesterday? But, Clarence swears it's in the bay, and will be done this afternoon, (Another 20-30 minutes of holds and people randomly picking up to ask me to hold -- love that, "Hello, can you please hold?"). He promises to call me back around 330. 430, I call back, and I've now been on hold for 36 minutes. Do you guys even have anyone who works there other than Clarence? Finally get through, and apparently they weren't happy with the paint job, so they're going to redo it, and my car should be ready Monday. Over the weekend, I got a text informing me that it would be ready on Tuesday -- fortunately it was. The repairs were done well, and everything looks good -- no fault there. But the rolling target of repairs just left a really negative feeling. Honestly, if you guys had told me up front, "It'll be about two weeks," I could have planned for that. But, each time I get told "It'll be ready tomorrow," I'm planning on that, and arranging my schedule around it. Very frustrating. read more

Front end customer service was great! You won't find warmer and kinder folks at the front desk. I had multiple issues communicating with Anna. She never called me back (several times) after saying she would. When I went in person, she stated she had already communicated something to me on the phone. She never even called me. Expect timeline to be delayed/indefinite (same experience both times I had my car repaired) and to be way longer than other body shops because they are very busy. I wonder if parts were not overnighted as they should have been. This was inconvenient as I had my own rental car and did not know when I was going to be able to return it. Repair work first time was great, second time they did a poor job painting (bubbles all over the bumper and hood) and decided not to repair the part that connects my front bumper to my fender. They noticed it when putting it together but didn't think I would which is just sketchy. When I pointed it out, Anna said she'd give me a call back once she gets the parts to repair. Again never got a call. I'm not sure if it's how busy they are but lack of communication and poor workmanship my second time leads me to question their professionalism. For how long the repairs took and the trust I had in this location, they should have taken better care of both the customer and product. read more

After a bad accident in the snow this past March, I brought my car to caliber collision via my insurance approval off a tech road for servicing. The customer and car service I received was exceptional. William, the service advisor, kept in touch via email throughout the entire process and gave me a layman's explanation (idk anything about cars) about the damage to my vehicle and the repairs his team made. They even through in a car wash for my vehicle and boy did I need It. Im writing this review a couple months late because I begin experiencing screeching on the same side of the car wheee most of the damage was at. After emailing William, he asked me to call him and then bring my car in. The next day after calling him, k brought the vehicle in for inspection. William and his lead technician Claud (I believe that was his name) both listened to my concerns, we took the car for a test drive a few times, I was showed the issue, and Claud assured me that the issue was a relatively easy fix and I would be back on the road in no time. After the first initial fix, the screeching sound continued and Claud investigated further. We settled on a solution fast, I was in and out the hop in 2 hours tops. After an additional 10 days I finally got back my 2019 Subaru. I have to say that because of the reviews I posted, a manager from Collision called to talk to me. What was disappointing was that he made claims of multiple contacts by his agent to me. I truly hope we don't have to go any further but of course I have all the records, including emails, voice calls and messages saved. None the less the best excuse I was given was that since it was a brand new model it took them time to source parts as well as figure out how to fix it. Since this car is not my primary transportation, all that it would have taken was someone to clearly communicate that they were having issues. An initial estimate of 15 days to repair taking 43 days is indeed excessive but clear communication and regular updates would have been very helpful. Overall the vehicle looks good and from my unprofessional eyes the repairs seem to be done correctly. I will definitely exercise the warranty should any issues arise. read more

Calliber failed to complete the insurance repair work timely, lied to me several times , and THREW AWAY MY FRONT LICENSE PLATE despite my telling their rep verbally and in my paperwork that the plate was attached to the damaged bumper-cover in the back of the van. They told me the vehicle was ready after about a week. Over the phone, I reviewed the list of issues with their rep (same list I'd gone over with the rep in person and wrote down on the work order). Caliber had not addressed the air-bag light which had come on after the accident...so they had to keep the vehicle for another week to fix that. Their Technician, Eli, tried to imply that the air-bag light had been on before the accident and that insurance wouldn't cover it. Turns out he was incorrect...or simply lying. Their rep Eli repeatedly failed to return my calls. I found the only way to get him to return my calls was to leave a message with his boss. When I came to pick up the vehicle, I found three NEW bits of minor damage and discovered that there was no license plate on the front of the vehicle. Their rep lied and said they'd never been notified about the tag (I showed him the work order citing the tag)...and REALLY? This is a collision-repair shop in a state with front plates. To put a car back together and NOT put a tag on the front shows they're bad at their business. Their rep and the manager told me to submit the cost of getting a replacement tag from Motor Vehicles to Geico Insurance, despite it being clearly Caliber's error. Their front-office staff were pleasant and courteous, as was the estimator I met when I dropped off the vehicle (Malik) who took pictures of the damage. The other staff I dealt with (Manager Paul and tech Eli) were rude and deceitful. read more

The combination of Caliber and Geico provides a seamless, low stress experience. The office is well staffed and waiting times in the office were minimal. My car was repaired in what I would consider to be a reasonable time, and I was kept informed along the way. All that being said, I was not impressed with the quality of the work. My repair involved replacement of the driver's door, which contains a speaker. After I picked up my car, i discovered that the speaker had not been connected, and I was compelled to make a return trip to have this corrected. Worse, the workmanship of the repair is not up to what i would have hoped for. There is an obvious mismatch in shape between the front edge of the new door and the back edge of the front fender, Also (and I confess that this might be my imagination) it seems that when the car is in motion there is more wind noise on the driver's side than I recall. At the time of this review I have yet to drive the car in the rain, so i can't say whether there are any water leaks, read more

Don't ever go to Caliber Collision in Silver Spring. I took my car there and got it back with a broken alternator. I had just put the alternator in two years before and I have receipts to prove it. I also had to take it back because the bumper came loose and it also had a nasty scratch on the front by the headlight. Fortunately, I had a photo of the headlight from before I took it to their shop. I would recommend that everybody avoid this shop like the plague. read more

The repairs appear fine, and as others have stated the reception folks are great. The reason for only three stars is due to communication issues with my service representative. In the beginning, I was receiving information about every other day. Two days before the completion date I was given communications ended. Not hearing anything by mid-day on the day my vehicle was promised, I called Caliber. The call was answered and I was put on hold and then cutoff. I called back, the call was answered and I was once again cutoff when transferred to a service representative. On my third call I was finally able to speak to a service representative (not Melvin who was my primary contact) who stated my car was being reassembled and I would receive a call when it is ready, which could still be Friday as estimated. I did not receive any further communication that day nor the next day. On Monday I receive a call from Melvin who apologized for the lack of communication, stating he went out of town. He further advised the wrong fog light was installed but my car should be ready on Tuesday. On Tuesday he called at 4:30 stating my car was ready for pickup. I arrive at 5:10 and Melvin says the car is not ready because a sensor was not working. Really? I asked why he called me less than an hour earlier stating it was ready. He went on to state the entire bumper had to be removed to figure out the problem. Given the entire bumper had to be replaced during the repair I asked why the sensor was not tested before reassembling the bumper. He had no answer nor could he tell me when my car would be ready. While there I inspected my car and noticed the lining around the light that was replaced was sticking out in some places which also needed to be corrected. Melvin called the following day to say the car was ready. I asked for assurance that it was indeed repaired properly and everything was working correctly before I made the drive to pick it up. It has now been three weeks and I have not had any issues. read more

BUYER BEWARE. I took my CRV to Caliber Collision, recommended by Geico, my insurance carrier. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. My vehicle was damaged on Dec. 1, 2022 by an unknown driver in front of my house who side-swiped my car. It appeared to be mostly physical damage but turned out to be more extensive in the front end. I had my car towed to Caliber at Geico's recommendation. It took 3 weeks for it to even be evaluated. I picked it up in February after repairs. Immediately after driving it, there was a vibration and noise and so I returned to Caliber for evaluation. They informed me it was the front tire, not related to the accident. I replaced the tires, the noise and vibration was still there. I took it to my regular mechanic who informed me that several of the replaced parts (noted by Caliber on the invoice) were aftermarket (not Honda) and that some parts were NOT replaced AT ALL even though they were listed on the invoice. Over $6K in damages. I contacted Geico again. My mechanic ended up replacing parts and making sure all was OK. He took videos of everything that they did. I took my vehicle to this shop because of an accident involving a deer. The deer damaged the front bumper and most of the frame of my car from the left headlight to the driver's side door. The shop initially told me that the repairs were going to take 8 days, but it turned into 2 weeks. Then the date was extended to 3 weeks, then 4.5, and it was finalized after 6 weeks of being in the shop. This prompted me to also get a rental car that was a little bit on the pricey side because my insurance policy would cover it for up to 30 days, but I was misled by the duration of that my car was actually in that shop. Throughout that entire time, they NEVER took the initiative to call me to give me a status update about my car. I would have to call them just for them to tell me that the date would be extended and this happened AT LEAST 3 TIMES. After the call, they would then send me a text stating that the date of completion for the car would be extended as if they were going to send me the text in the first place, but it gets worse. After I get my car back, I drive it for about a week and my check engine light comes on and the "lead technician" Ely gives me an attitude about checking it. It turns out that the issue was a cylinder misfire and he simply brushed it off saying that it was a "random occurrence". Now Ely was the main person that I was in communication with about my car since it was taken to the shop. He never took any initiative or seemed as though he cared whatsoever. Regardless of that selfish person's attitude and lack of respect, the car still looks great, which is the only reason why this review has multiple stars. read more

Took my car there because my insurance company uses them. While my car was there my license plates were STOLEN! I just got brand new tags! The sad thing is they LIED and told me at first that my plates were misplaced when they took off my bumper to repair. Then when I spoke to the service manager he is the one who admitted to the truth. So in essence, I had to go back to the DMV and get new tags and we all know what a HELL that is to go through again. Yeah, they paid for it but they didn't and couldn't pay for the inconvenience! I will never take my car to their establishment again, after all the money they received from my business, they couldn't protect my property which was in their care! Quite frankly, I believe that someone from on the INSIDE stole my plates especially since my sticker was brand new...when I reported it to the police, even they said that it's fishy! When I went to pick up my car, the STAFF had attitudes in the front office. The man who oversaw my car had an attitude and my tires needed air in them. They didn't even check that! read more

Wasn't the best experience, had to take my car back twice after they "fixed" it. First time the either over or under inflated my tires which caused the sensor to come on minutes after I picked my car up but they were closing so I couldn't take it back. Had to wait until my next off day during which time the car started making a screeching sound but when I took it in for the tire sensor no one bothered to figure out what the noise was. So for the next week or so the sound got progressively louder. To the point I could hear it with the windows wound up and my music on. But unfortunately I again have to wait for a day off to go back. It was super embarrassing driving with that loud noise coming from my new car. Come to find out the technician didn't put the brakes on properly. And they didn't put my floor mats back in my car!! read more

I"ve been thinking what to say because i"m still angry, and upset after my necklace was stolen from my car. I took my car to Caliber after All-State recommended them after an accident, and in a hurry, I forgot my necklace that had previously slid under the center compartment. After the repair, I received my car and the pendant for the necklace was in plain eye view without the necklace. I immediately contacted Chris who had kept in contact with me through the entire process of repair about what had happened and was told he would look into it. I called again the following day and asked to speak to a manager who informed me that because I signed a form stating that all my valuables were removed from the car there was nothing that can be done about the chain that was given to me from a deceased family member. To this day I am still furious and think they should look into the dishonesty of the workmen that they have because someone DID steal my necklace from my car. On the other hand, Chris kept me informed and up to date and they should hire more workers like him. read more

Caliber did an ok job of physically repairing the damage. But, the paint was not a match for the original color. When I complained, they came up with the BS excuse that the replacement piece was plastic rather than metal - If the material was properly primed, the underlying material would not have made a difference. Their paint shop either ordered the wrong paint or their supplier shipped the wrong paint, - in either case, I now have a two-toned paint job !!! Caliber has nothing but excuses when they promise satisfied customers. read more
