This was the worst experience I have ever had with a service shop. They had my car for over 5 weeks and it was one blunder and lie after another. At one point they told me my car was ready to pick up. When I got there the car looked fine from the outside and I almost took it and left. Then I popped the hood and there was still bent frame members, bent radiator. Bent hood latch. Hood and charge door (electric car) did not open and close properly and they had glued my headlight assembly back together. Basically they replaced the plastic front end to make the car look fine but didn't repair any of the structural damage. On top of that the car had a flat tire with a fender screw sticking out of it and car was filthy dirty. I was dropped off to pick up my car and had to them call someone else to come get me. I then had to wait 2 more weeks to get the car back again. Had they done the job right the first time this all could have gone much better. The communication was horrible and out of the probably 15 times I was told "I'll check and call you right back" only 1 time did anyone call me back. Chris who I was dealing with wouldn't return calls and at one point I had to drive over there just to get a status update because he wouldn't take my calls or call me back. He fed me so many excuses it was laughable. One day I'm told the wrong radiator came in. The next day they are installing the radiator. The third day the radiator is installed but they forgot to get antifreeze. Just need to put in antifreeze and I can lock the car up tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and I'm told they still need to install the radiator but car should be ready tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and I'm told the car isn't ready and there is still significant work that needs to be done before the car is ready, which took 2 more days. Now I get that Chris is probably just having to make up excuses to cover for his obviously incapable shop but it gets old being told you car will be ready tomorrow for a week in a row. I had other things to do then sit by the phone waiting for a phone call that never comes. Caliber collision was the worst business I have ever dealt with. read more

This shop is by far the best business I have dealt with in Monterey California so far in my last 9 months stationed here. So to begin, my car was hit when I was eating in a restaurant back in March and I had been fighting with the insurance company to waive my deductible. So for the last 4 months I've been staring at this ridiculous large dent in my driver side door since then. The insurance recommended the company as a local shop to take it in and get the estimate done etc. I made an appointment and was able to be seen after my duty day, which for me was a huge plus. Unfortunately the military and appointments outside of the military rarely ever coincide. But I was able to be seen on a Friday afternoon to get an appraisal of the damages. I met with a gentleman named Ricardo and he was an absolute delight from start to finish. Extremely professional, positive and really accommodated everything I needed. They got me in the following week to drop the car off, called enterprise to let them know I was ready to be picked up, and was in constant communication about the process from start to finish. Now, my car though old and worn in, has a beautiful shiny dent free door, thanks to Caliber. Feels like brand new! If you have a choice in where you go. Without a doubt drop every one else you are considering going to and call Caliber, and ask for Ricardo or any one of there fantastic staff members. The other day the splash guard underneath my Honda CR-V was damaged due to the heavy rain and debris in the road. It was scraping over every bump and was about to come off, what a hassle! I stopped by Caliber Collision after getting the run around at the dealership and they were absolutely fantastic! Serena and Hector greeted me with a smile and were happy to help. They took the time to fix my car using a lift, and one of their mechanics time, who was also very friendly. They even went to their supply room to get some extra parts to secure the splash guard. Long story short, had another accident, got a quote from Caliber. Collected the money damages from the person who hit us, and took car down months after settling the claim. Finally took our car to get repaired and I was advised they would not honor their estimate as their employee forgot to include all the damages in their estimate. This time around my insurance and caliber collision seemed to be having a back and fourth dispute about who should do what or pay what, and it seems like caliber collision didn't care about how much they were inconveniencing me with holding onto my car and not communicating why to me, ended up being stuck with an extra bill for my rental because up carelessness on caliber collisions part. they refused to give simple information to my insurance company and overall I felt like I was doing the leg work and communicating back and fourth for whoever in caliber collision is supposed contact insurance while they were arguing with my insurance about money they should have been paying me for how many times I had to go back and fourth for them and even show up at caliber collision. I'll never bring my car back here and I also got new insurance. All anyone cares about these days is money, hopefully if I ever got hit again my new insurance company and the next auto body place will actually make the experience easy . read more

When I brought my car I did not think it was going to get done in time. Went to go pick up my car after the accident and they had replaced most of the front end. We did a once over an noticed that the grill has a crack in it. So we went inside and told the owner and she sent out the service person to look at and said don't worry you can bring it back wen we get the part. Really, really disappointing experience. I got in a little fender bender (someone rolled in to the back of me at a stop light) on February 24th. Due to their good reviews, we took our car to Caliber Collision on February 25th, they took a look at it but we were contacted by the other driver's insurance company at that time, and it was recommended we use one of their repair shops. Get a complimentary rental car, everything taken care of, no deductible to pay... We were going to drive our car elsewhere, but Caliber Collision and the State Farm (our insurance company) rep reassured us that we could go wherever we wanted, and Caliber would use the proper, OEM parts, blah, blah, blah. They said our car would be ready March 8th. Then they called on the 8th and said the bumper they had needed was on back order and it was going to be ready on the 12th. When I called on the 11th to make sure we were on schedule, I was told actually the bumper they eventually received was damaged and they had to go and pick one up from somewhere else but the car would be ready to go on the 15th. 15th comes around and they say they're not happy with the paint finish and they're going to keep it one more day, but it'll be ready the 16th. My husband called today at 1.30pm to check everything was looking good and they said yup, it's just going to the wash and we'll call you when it's ready. They never called!!! I just tried to call them and they're now closed. Difficult to trust that they've used the best parts after all. I really can't believe how unprofessional and frustrating our whole experience has been. read more

I bruised the bumper on my car by barely hitting the corner of my garage, leaving a nice big purple scar on my fairly new black bumper. I called Caliber and we made an appointment to have them buff out the nasty purple swipe on my bumper. They came out and looked at it and went back inside. My assumption was to get the paperwork going for the repair work. Much to my amazement, they came out with a clear bottle and a couple of rags. The nice man proceeded to wipe the purple right off my bumper with this clear stuff in the bottle. When I asked him how much i owed him, he said "nothing" and thanked me for coming in. I knew I had to get on YELP and give this shop props for this free appointment. So, when was the last time any repair shop told you, "No charge"? I took my Lexus to Caliber Collision to have the rear bumper appliqué removed, since it was damaged, and install a new. I had also asked how much would it cost to remove some scuffs on the side of the car, Robert told me he would try and see what he could do. He told me to wait in the lobby and help myself to coffee or a soda. A few minutes later he walks in and tells me I am ready to go. I go and check my car and see the appliqué perfectly installed and was surprised to see the scuffs on the side of the car had magically disappeared. When I asked him how much would it be for the great job he did on my car he said it was free..I couldn't believe it!..something that would cost me a couple of hundreds of dollars at the Lexus dealership he did for free and within a few minutes. Being new to the area, I took my car here since it was referred by my insurance company. Not my best decision. My car had a very little dent to the front bumper. I was going 10 mph when the damage happened. They originally told me repairs would take 6 days. I understand once you get to really looking into the car there may be more repairs than usual but we're going into 4 weeks here!!! They have had my car for FOUR weeks!! The repairs they are saying my car needed are just not making sense either. I just hope they're not taking advantage of the situation and trying to get more money from my insurance company. The part that is the most frustrating is their communication. Sure...I get a generic, copy & paste email every once in awhile that has ZERO detail about my car or what's going on. In those emails they have given me a new completion date probably 5 times. I have called on two of those completion dates and said is my car done, I've heard nothing?? And last minute they say no and give me another completion date. I wouldn't recommend this place. At this point, I just hope the repairs look good when I get my car back! read more

Even one star is too much for this repair shop. I let it slide that it wasn't delivered when promised and the fact that marks left from the buffering of the polish were visible because I just wanted my car back. Then by the second time I drove it the tire pressure light came on so I had my tires check and come to find out 3 were under inflated and one was over inflated but even that I let go. It wasn't until a mistake they made was a safety hazard, as I went to use my windshield wipers I find out that I can't fully use them because a gap on the steering wheel was preventing it's movement. So I call and am told to come in only to deal with a rude receptionist who immediately said "well we'll check to see if it was even a mistake on our part". I left being told that the gap was fixed and the tire pressure light was corrected as well. That was wrong the light came back on not even half way on my way home and you could still see both panels were not completely together and has slowly been opening up more and more as I drive. For the amount they got paid you'd think you wouldn't have to go back for any repairs let alone having to go twice so I called my insurance and said I'd never go back and let them know they need better repair shops to recommend. read more
