The quality of the repair was excellent, and my vehicle looked great when I picked it up. It's clear that the team takes pride in their work and genuinely cares about its customers. I would gladly recommend this shop to anyone in need of collision or body repair. read more

My experience with Caliber Collision was unacceptable. The initial inspection performed by Mark was poorly done. He failed to identify that the driver-side rear tire was extremely worn on the inside--an issue I discovered and pointed out myself when I picked up the vehicle for completion. I was also repeatedly given false information about the repairs. I was told the parts used were OEM when the itemized documentation showed otherwise. I was told it was acceptable for the passenger-side rear mud flap to have approximately a 1/4-inch gap, even though the opposite side sits flush. Mario also told me an alignment had been completed and that no adjustments were needed. When I requested proof of the alignment, it took two days for them to admit that no alignment had been performed. This was despite the invoice I received before my first pickup listing an alignment as completed. On the third day of going back and forth with Mark and Mario, I heard Mario tell Mark over the phone that they did not perform the alignment because he drove the vehicle around the block and it went straight. That is not an alignment. At that point, the constant contradictions, lack of knowledge, and unwillingness to take responsibility left me with no confidence in this shop. Mark and Mario need to understand that customers should not have to repeatedly catch inaccuracies, demand proof of work, or correct the shop about basic vehicle repairs. A manager should take responsibility for the work being performed rather than continually shifting blame to the person below him. I would not recommend this location. If you use them, verify every repair, every part, and every service yourself. Do not assume that what is listed on the invoice was actually performed. read more

In August, 2024 I was rear ended by a truck at a red light. I took my car to Caliber Collision at 1435 Grand Avenue, San Marcos for repairs and was so grateful for all they did to repair and get my car back on the road in beautiful condition. This location has great customer service and conscientious service personnel. I give this location a A++++. Thank you Thank you to My Service Advisor Michael Galvas who was absolutely amazing. read more

Bumper and rear light was damaged due to someone backing into my car. The repairs were done well in a timely manner and reasonable price.

Just picked up my Prius after repairs to the rear due to a rear-end collision. The repair looks great and was done much sooner than anticipated. But equal to the repair is their outstanding customer service. I was kept informed of the progress every step of the way by Spencer, who was kind and very thorough. Marina, in the office, was also very kind and informative, guiding me through insurance steps. Would highly recommend! read more

I needed a replacement tailgate. Vern found a new one and had it perfectly matched to my truck. The work was top notch and the final product is arguably better than the original. Vern had the repair work done fast and was in constant contact throughout the process. read more

I wish I could give them a better review because the employees were all very pleasant to deal with but the quality of work was was unacceptable. They did not put my 2023 car back together properly. They completely forgot the door guards, two parts on my car were completely missed that needed to be fixed, and they didn't put the proper protective paint coating on my car that came with it when I bought it. They told me they needed to get insurance approval and then these things would be fixed however that was back in the beginning of April and my insurance has paid them and I've heard nothing from them. I will not be using them again and the problems with my newer car that only had 11,000 miles on it still has not been fixed. read more

Team here rocks! If I have to come back for repairs, I know where I'm going! Thanks guys!

First and foremost I would like to thank Ryan for helping me through my claims process. He was amazing from start to finish. Very informative and would always keep me updated on the progress to my car. A++++ . The receptionist was also super friendly! Thank you so much to everyone there . I had an unfortunate accident with a cayote on my 2017 Volkswagen Jettaand I was freaking out my car would be a total loss but the team at caliber was great (even better than my insurance claim handler). Thanks again! My car looks and runs great no issues at all . I'm happy I chose this shop 100%. read more

Caliber Collision - Yey!!!!! - Body Shops Near Me - San Marcos, California

Evan was extremely extraordinarily rude. One of the worse services I ever received. Basically my car was rear ended by another car and All State recommends this place. However, he just evades all my questions and keep telling me to listen to him and did not want to work on additional stuff beyond the insurance coverage even when I am willing to pay. He accuses me of not listening and said "I don't want to help you because you don't listen", even when he didn't want to help me on the first day. I then ask about Enterprise rental returns and he mentioned that there is a system. However, when I asked questions like can you close it by today. He said things in a rude manner like we have a system, just listen. And I had to ask whether I can ask questions. Terrible service from the front desk. Not sure if they are being racist read more

Normally an accident would be nothing but a headache and stressful having to miss work, deal with injuries, and getting your car repaired. Bring my car to this caliber was the right choice. Entire staff was very friendly and helpful. I thought my car would be out of commission for a long time but they were able to get it done well before the timeline they initially gave me and gave me one less thing to worry about. They will always have my business and recommendations to any friends who find themselves needing repairs. read more

I was hit on the highway by a car racing late at night. There was damage to the entire passenger side of my car. I was worried as it looked like liquid was leaking from my car on the side of the highway. Fortunately, Caliber Collision in San Marcos was able to get my car back to its original condition and driving perfectly. Joe and his team did a great job keeping me inform through every step of the process as parts were ordered and repairs were made. Thank you Caliber team! read more

We've had our cars worked on at this location before, and have always been satisfied with the cost, the quality of the work, and the time it takes to complete. Recently I pulled my Ford Fusion into a parking space, and the curb-bumper was a little higher than most, and it knocked the under-bumper spoiler thingy off the front of my car. Obviously not enough damage to file an insurance claim, but there were some connections/pieces that I didn't have, so I could not fix it myself. I took it to Caliber, and in less than 15 minutes they fixed it and I was on my way! The best part is - which of course they can't do in every circumstance, there was no charge! It was an easy fix, no worries, they said - so nice! Thank you Caliber! read more

My husbands truck was damaged in an accident which was extremely stressful but caliber collision was so helpful, professional and made the whole process of repairs streamlined and easy. Starting with my first phone call to shop I spoke with Haidee at the front desk. She was very polite and empathetic and put my mind at ease. I knew I was in good hands. The repairs were all done quickly and efficiently and my husband had his truck back in just a short time. Dealing with insurance can be a nightmare but when you have caring professionals helping you along the way it makes life so much easier. read more

My car was rear ended and was brought into this San Marcos location and was contacted right away by the staff there to get started with the process of repairing my vehicle. I was updated very constantly by Guy Olsen who was very friendly and great at explaining the process that the vehicle was going through making me feel confident that my vehicle was getting repaired there. Once my vehicle was ready I went to pick it up and they made sure that I was happy with the repair. I was very impressed with the ending result and I really loved how extremely clean my vehicle was left. Definitely would recommend this body shop to friends and family. read more

I recently had my badly damaged car repaired at Caliber Collision San Marcos, and from the moment they received my car until the moment I picked it up, Joe, Ray and the rest of their team provided exceptional customer service, whose professionalism and quality of work is 2nd to none. I was afraid my car would be a total loss, and not only were they able to fix it, but it looks brand new and even better than it did before the wreck. They updated me daily, and were so efficient in completing my car in a timely manner. I can't thank Joe, Ray and the Caliber team enough for their above and beyond superb workmanship and professionalism. I would only choose Caliber for any future repair work and highly recommend their services. read more

If I could give a negative star review I would! This location of Caliber Collision was TERRIBLE!!! Car was at location for 2 days before they even started looking at my car. I didn't get a call back when I called the first time (day 3). I called the next day and was told that they were still looking at my car and working on the estimate. This was AFTER my car had been there 4 days! I told the representative that was not acceptable and wanted to speak to the manager. Mike, the manager, got on the phone and explained to me that the car had received extensive damage and they were STILL working on the estimate. He told me he would have it done that afternoon. I received a call from him about 3 hours later telling me that the estimate was going to be approximately a bit over $7,000. At that time we agreed that the estimate was more than what the car was worth and that we could consider it "totaled." Mike stated that they would finish up the estimate and submit it to the insurance company and explained that it would be submitted within 2 days' time. I'm now writing this on Monday, 6/11 at 3:32 pm (day 6). And, after talking to my insurance company just a few minutes ago, insurance told me that they have not heard from Caliber about an estimate. An insurance representative called them to find out the status while I waited on hold. Caliber told her that they are STILL working on the estimate and would have it to the insurance company either at the end of the day or TOMORROW morning (this would now be day 7)! HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WRITE AN ESTIMATE AND SUBMIT IT, Extensive damage or not????!!!!! I have had my car in repair shops before and have never had such a long wait for an ESTIMATE!!!!! I have even worked with other Caliber Collision shops in San Diego without this kind of delay. This is ridiculous! I would STRONGLY suggest that you avoid this location if at all possible! read more

Had our car here after an accident. We were always taken care of! The staff is incredibly pleasant and took great care of us.

They gave me my car back! I was warned by everyone that my beloved car would be totaled. The fine folks at Caliber laughed and promised me they'd make it whole again. I got it back sinner than expected and it was/is beautiful! The only name I can remember is Mike but, seriously, all the guys are so knowledgeable and helpful. The girl up front is professional, friendly, and easy to talk to. I have to say I do hope I'll never have to go back but, if ever ,y precious car is hurt again, the only people I will allow to touch it will be the guys at Caliber... this location. If I could say I love them without it sounding creepy I would. I was kept up to date on every issue, and had zero qualms about my car being returned better than New, and it was. read more

This is probably the shitiest company I have ever dealt with. First, if my car was over the 3k I owe on it, I just wanted it totaled out. But no they choose to work on it without my permission or go ahead. The I tail estimate was 1500 and then it jumped to 7k which whatever I'm not paying it. Took them until November 21st to fix it, they received my car in September, on the 20th or so. Told me at pick up, that my deductible was waived so I didn't owe anything. Then 4 days before Christmas messages me that if I don't pay them I'm going to collections. I nicely explain to the person who messaged me that I was told I owed nothing so now why all of a sudden are you saying I do. Turns out USAA fucked up and sent the deductible to me, which I was under the impression it was for my car seat that had been destroyed. And caliber fucked up by saying it was waived, that I owed them nothing. Which fine we all make mistakes but threatening me 2x over a payment I was just made aware of is possibly the most ignorant shit I've seen. Fast forward I talk to the manager about it told him hey I used that money to by a car seat, can you wait til I have the money, at most it'll take me a couple months. Then Jan 19th I get another message from a new person about me owing it and being sent to collections. Proceeds to tell me it's been 77 days. I'm no sir it has not. It's been less than 30 since I was informed after your company's fuck up. Friday it will have been 30 days. But go ahead and send me to collections. That way I don't have to deal with the children at this company. Y'all really older than me acting like high schoolers, it's 500 not the 7300 the insurance paid you. You can hold your horses cause I have 90 days. read more

I was reading some really funny one stare reviews about Caliber Collision for this location #185 San Marcos. I had my "new" car for less than two weeks and had an accident......I loved that car. I was so anxious that it be brought back to it's original glory. I'VE GOT MY BLACK PRIUS V BACK AND IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!! Adrian even installed the front new seat covers, (I bought them before the accident) THEY LOOK BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL NEW SEATS. I couldn't be happier. And, frankly, (my opinion) these guys could have had my car a month and I would not have cared because what was important is that my care be repaired correctly. Well, they finished up almost 2 WEEKS EARLY!!! The paint on this car is hard to match, there's an undertone of blue metallic sparkle. It's raining now so I'll look at the paint when it's sunny...I'm not worried because Adrian said there is a LIFETIME GUARANTEE!!! Unreal. Who gives you a lifetime guarantee these days!!! I am totally thrilled. I was kept up to date throughout the process with text messages. I cannot say enough about my fantastic experience with this location of Caliber Collision. Like I said, I love my new car and now I have it back....I think it's more beautiful than it was before. My suggestion to the people who think their fees are too high is that they should Junk their car if it's such a mess. But, if you want to have that car better looking than before the accident....VISIT THESE GUYS!!! I brought my car to Caliber because I had asked my sister about not using the dealership to repair and instead using Caliber. She said they made her car look better than new! This was the best referral I could have had. THANK YOU CALIBER COLLISION. Now, no more accidents for me. -Jim read more

When I was in an accident I was referred to this place by Triple A. I had it towed from the scene of the accident to the closest location which turned out to be right down the street. When this first happened they kept calling and insisting for us to transfer it to the no drive lot which is this one in San Marcos. When we had it towed once again to the no drive lot they called us letting us know we would hear about the status of the car come Wednesday (just about one weeks time). That day rolled around and I never heard from them, gave my insurance a call and they attempted to call them as well just for them to keep my insurance agent on hold to then say that the person they had on my case was busy and would get back to me with the status of my car by the end of the day. I went to this location that same day to get the remainder of my things out of the vehicle just for them to say that turns out in that weeks time they had done nothing with my vehicle. To date my car has been here over a week and nothing has been done with it in any capacity. So essentially when they said they would finally be running the 24 hour test to deem it totaled or not on Tuesday to give me the results Wednesday was a lie. My biggest problem with this place is not only how long it has taken but that they were all over me to move my car to this no drive lot so they could get it taken care of just for it to sit there and then not call me and say well it actually won't be done Wednesday. Something else annoying is that they wouldn't let me speak to the person on my case or even tell me his name, the front desk woman just said "oh he's on the phone" or "he's still on the phone." At this point I believe this place is a joke. Now I know to tow my car to somewhere else in the future if something were to happen. read more

If you are looking for an honest collision repair shop that does good work, I would avoid this Caliber Collision at all costs. Our Honda minivan was pretty severely damaged in a rear end collision, where the car looked completely totaled, engine fluid was leaking all over and the car was not drivable. We initially chose to get our car repaired at the Caliber collision in Encinitas. However, due to engine damage, Alberto called and recommended that we send it to the Caliber collision in San Marcos. I reluctantly agreed due to the negative reviews, but finally agreed since our AAA agent reassured us that they were good. However, after transferring the car to them, it took over 1 week to just get a tear down estimate (which is supposedly more accurate than quick estimate) of $8500. Based on the initial estimate, our car would not be considered totaled and was told it would take 3.5 weeks to repair. After 3.5 weeks, we were told on the day we were supposed to pick up the car that they found a water pump leak and it would take another week to fix. After 2 more days, they now said that they found a crack in the engine and that it would cost another $5000 to repair! REALLY? It takes 5 weeks to find out there is a crack in the engine?!!! Either they do a really poor inspection for the initial estimate, or they were dishonest and lowballed the initial estimate in order to get business in order to avoid having the car labeled as totaled. Either way, I would strongly avoid this collision center at all cost. read more
