I like to explain my scenario so you can understand my frustration. When I purchased my Mercedes it cost me $75,000 which is a lot for me, so I make sure everything is taken care of properly. But sometimes you can make it tragic mistake by picking the wrong paint and body shop. I was involved in an accident two years ago, that was caused by an individual who backed into my front bumper which damaged the hood, bumper and grill.
I called Caliber Collision at 6634 Indiana Ave, Riverside, CA 92506 to express my issue with their quality of their paint job which was on a new bumper they supplied. They said bring it in any time and we will have one of our specialist evaluate your concerns. So I brought my vehicle and for inspection of the quality of the paint job to the front bumper. I was greeted by their office worker and he looked up my information, and immediately stated all this was done a while ago. He asked me to take a seat while he prepared the paperwork to give to the specialists so that he could assist me. The specialist came out and greeted me and said let's take a look at your vehicle. After examining the front bumper he agreed that there was a warranty issue but he needed to get his supervisor to move forward on the process. I followed the inspector to his supervisors office, but I could not go any further because it was separated by the receptionists desk, so I turned around and sat down to await his return.
I noticed a man walking towards my direction with paperwork clenched in his hand and not looking very happy. He introduced himself as Mike and that he was a manager, and he said "what do I need". I explained to him that I brought my vehicle and for warranty repair, he said okay let's take a look at it. He evaluated the bumper, he said these paint-chips are not under warranty. I explained to him that I had another vehicle that I brought in for repair and there was no issue with the bumper and I had that vehicle for five years driving and the same direction as my new vehicle. So I believe that it was a warranty issue and needed to be repaired. He was not responsive to my plead so asked to see his supervisor. He said his supervisor was not in, so I asked to see his supervisors manager. He said I don't know who that is, I said can you try. So he went into the front office to muster up a manager.
Here's the part of my experience you need to pay attention to if you are interested in getting your car repaired at Caliber Collision at 6634 Indiana Ave, Riverside, CA 92506.
The manager went into the front office and explained his situation with the "Office Manager" Kim M. Kimball. She explained to me that the manager in charge of this process was not available but that she will evaluate my warranty repair complaint. So camera in hand she went to evaluate my car, she concentrated on a metal fixture on one of my headlights that was factory standard which was six years old, she determined because of the pits on my metal housing that the paint job was not under warranty because of its condition. She took no consideration on when any of that scratches and pits happen before or after they repaired my car. She took pictures of the metal parts and said I'm going to send this to the manager in charge and he will make his decision based on the housing.
In additional employee came by to assess my vehicle, she asked his opinion on what his thoughts were. He gave no response after she asked him three times, he seemed very cautious about answering anything so he did not.
When I was explaining my concern about the quality of paint on my bumper, she said "I see that you're very unhappy with the quality of work that we do so why would you want us to repair it if you feel that way". I guess someone needs to explain to Caliber Collision what warranty repair means to a customer. It certainly does not mean if you have an issue with your vehicle regarding quality, do not take it back to get it repaired, go somewhere else, so that you can pay a qualified company to do the job correctly.
So I strongly suggest if you are interested in getting your car repaired you need to go to a qualified company that stands by their quality. And call around and make sure that if you're taking your car in for warranty issues that you don't have the office manager evaluate if it should be repaired. read more
