Just like a selfish boyfriend, you get the fit without the finish. I really want to like this place, but everything has limits... Let me explain and continue to be fair. Just as the many other reviews say, the staff that you meet at the front are very warm and friendly. The waiting environment is great. From drinks, to good music. The wait will go quick. They even have a very clean and organized garage. I honestly don't care that much about all this as do more about the quality of work. So here is the subtle disappointment. I went in for a inspection and a last minute oil change. I was happy with the tech team member working on my car, and felt everything was going to go fantastic. After paying and getting into the car I noticed that my check engine light was still on. Not even leaving yet, I popped back into the shop and the manager took my keys and took the car back into the garage. Three minutes later he pulled back infront and told me to have a good day. I was thinking to myself the whole way home, if they missed a very important part of the oil change what else did they miss?? So, when I returned home I gave the car another look over and notice the slight smell of burning oil. I don't remember the last time I smelled this from my car... The last issue was what was left on my car's finder... Hand print oil smudge. (See picture) I am very disappointed about this because I was already asking them how they keep the car clear while they reprinting my dirty oiled inspection report. They said they use gloves, but the only guy I seen use gloves was one of the guys at the front desk. My car is a brand new bright white and you can see how I would be upset about this... Verse calling them and telling them about, I will just let them know by this review. I don't have time to keep going back, and giving them a chance to make it right. Every time I have brake issues it ends up being a hassle for them to find parts... they claim, I looked up the part now number and found my brakes that were apparently $3,000.00, I found them $800.00, so I was so close to canceling my repair but Mr. Anthony Proano begged me not to cancel my order, not to mention the time my car fell off the car lift almost. I mean dude come on. 1 month later I hear squeaking from the brakes.... I have ordered the rear pad which he told me would cost another $1000.00 I found for $300.00 on summit racing a well known brand. I like caliber auto but this is by far the worst store. read more

My engine overheated for some reason on the road. I completely freaked out when I got a warning sign that I needed to stop my vehicle immediately. Thankful Service First was only 0.4 miles away from where I was located. I walked in and all 3 staff greeted me. How wonderful! I told them my situation and they said they will do a diagnostic test and it wll take an hour. Eddie was my advisor, he is the one that told me the update on my vehicle. Turns out they got my parts from BMW and not a generic brand was used on my car. The repair costed me 1/3 of what they would have charged me at the dealership. It took a full day to actually fix my car. They came and explain to me in details what exactly was wrong with my vehicle. I was really happy with the results. They also have a little playground for the kids inside. They also have water and starbucks regular coffee as well. Free wifi and 4 IPAD station free of use. After a service they give you a car wash ticket to go wash your car free of charge next door at Misters Car wash. read more

They showed proof of pictures on what needed to be changed and or replaced during my visit. After my experience I will be staying away from other oil change places such as dealerships and jiffy lube. Early 2013 - I have been visiting Service First at both of their locations off Louetta since they opened their doors a couple years ago. When they 1st opened I was blown away with the customer service, quality, atmosphere, everything! I have been taking both of my cars to them for everything ever since. Mid 2017 - Fast forward to last year/ early 2017 and I started to see them slipping. After a few incidents I ended up changing my review to disappointed and decided to find a new car place. I was then contacted my the owner and managers like ready to make things right and they did. I was very impressed with the humble attitude and willingness to do whatever to make things right. Big thumbs up! So here we are Nov 2017 and I think it is fair to say the jury is out. I haven't had a need arise yet so I have not interacted with Service First again but DO plan on going back to them. I do see that their desire is to change the crummy image that comes along with repair shops and I must admit, when they made a couple mistakes (which is normal, we are all human) I probably let the car repair stigma sway my opinions. I am happy to say the way they came back and let me know that they are here and ready to make things right was nothing like I am use to and I am impressed. So all in all I do say, give them a try. Parents, it is so nice in there and they have a clean play place for kids which is so nice. Caliber had my car for 6 days. They replaced the battery the first day , but were never able to diagnose why it wouldn't a accelerate. They put the same part in 2 times to no avail. Let the car sit one whole day without any work because the mechanic was out sick. The last 2 days it was there I never heard from them. I initiated the contact. I finally called at 8 am on Saturday morning to tell them I was having it towed. To their credit they said they would call a tow truck and pay for the tow. Two hours later no tow truck. The dealership called me at 4:30 pm to say the car had arrived but they wouldn't have time to diagnose the issue . On Monday morning , Northside Lexus called around 10:00 am (2 hours after they opened) to say the car was fixed and it was a fuse. read more

I brought my wife's car to get checked, they Didn't know how to fix it and still charged me 1,000 dollars. the car was functioning normally before it got in (check engine light was on) when I took it out the gear was not working properly and it wouldn't shift. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Another follow up...the manager Andrew called to offer an apology and asked how he could regain my trust. I appreciated his sincerity and his time. I did not ask for anything in return but he refunded the labor cost for rear brakes. Follow up to my previous review. I started to hear a rattling noise that did not exist before my outrageously expensive brake job. I had my husband drive it and when he realized the noise was brake related, he took it back to the shop ASAP. It turns out the issue was from an installation error with the brake pad. The retaining spring was damaged and not retaining the pad. That is where the rattle was coming from. So, $300 in labor for a simple brake job resulted in faulty workmanship. I think the shop should pay for the hours of work my husband missed for him to leave work early and take the car to the shop before they closed. With the original brake job where they charged 3 hours of labor for a 1 hour job, they also charged 1 hour of labor for the brake fluid flush. That is 4 hours ($400 in labor) total for a routine brake job. They also padded the bill in their favor for a few small things like brake cleaner and fluid. The amount they charge for brake cleaner would cover roughly 3 cans worth, yet one can would do. The amount they charged for brake fluid was also roughly 3 or 4 times the amount needed. Beware of the good reviews. Yes the staff is professional and friendly and the place is well kept; this may be the only thing they have going for them. I don't care about a coffee, a carwash, or a play center when getting my car repaired. I care about reasonable prices and the job being done correctly. Neither happened in this case. read more

Took my car in for oil change and inspection. They convinced me I needed a new battery on my 2019 Rav 4. After I left I realized my electronic panel that controls the radio, GPS, everything blacks out and isn't working right. I took it back and they couldn't figure out why. Now I have to take it to the dealership. Nothing was wrong with it before they replaced the battery. Very nice tech but now having to go to the dealership to get it fixed is not good. read more

Prices may seem a bit high but they do not charge for things that aren't needed, meaning they are honest and accountable! I've got a 2012 Traverse that is basically my commuter car, recently several major issues and they took care of me. So go ahead and read other reviews about the layout, kids play area, free wifi, iPad stations, free water and Starbucks coffee and blah blah Ok that's all nice and good but if they offer all these extras how much is their service going to cost me? I know... Trust issues... Well, they're about the same price as my previous garage but closer and they had a nicer waiting are and usually offered a free car wash so they were our go to oil change garage. On one occasion, I brought in our SUV and our SUV takes only full synthetic. Expecting the normal bill. Someone comes into the waiting area and explains to me that the car would need new brake pads. That we maybe at 1,500 miles left and would cost....$800! Ok that's not bad. But it's a 4 hr job! that's bad when you have a 1yr old. Fast forward 2 months, the husband takes the car in to get it serviced. They drop him back home! Nice! Around 7pm they call and say we don't have 1,500 miles left we have 15,000 miles left on our brake pads!! Oh!! Did I misunderstand them? So Austin drops off our car to our home and proceeds to explain to us that they checked the car thoroughly anyway and found that they used a bad gasket during our previous oil change so they gave us a full synthetic oil change for free so they could correct the gasket! Incredible service and honesty! Things we really want in a garage! Love these guys! They are our go to garage for everything now! Will sing their praises to all our friends! read more

I came in thinking oh god, I'm gonna have to spend over a 100 bucks for Check engine light diagnostic, and then the GM just goes out to my car, comes back within 2 minutes and says your gas cap was loose and then didn't worry about the fee. My very first review of this place was great. They were awesome, but now I only go there for my annual inspection. I had 2 bad oil changes in a row. One was when they broke my oil pan bolt, and other was when they stripped my oil pan bolt. I mean, really? I used to do my own oil changes all of the time and I never came close to doing either of those, and to have it happen 2 oil changes in a row. :( I'm really disappointed that I had to find a new place, but the new place is a lot quicker, and I don't have to get out of my car, so I guess it was for the better. On a last note: all of the things I liked about the staff and facility are still the same, it's just the latter that sucks. read more

Customer Service was great, especially for someone like me who felt completely out of place. I'm always nervous going to get my car inspected or my oil changed because I don't like when they pressure me to buy things I don't really need and I end up spending like $300. This wasn't the case at Service First, I told them I needed my car inspected, and 10 minutes later I was out with a voucher for a free car wash at Mister Car Wash and a total bill of $25! My husband has taken our cars around four times to the one on Rayford Rd. in Spring. The people are friendly, but the cost is way too high. And we have gotten estimates for services that we didn't need. For example we were told that we needed a catalytic converted on our 2008 Honda Civic and all it needed was an oil change. smdgh!!!! We were told just yesterday that we needed a new compressor for the AC on the same car and all it needed was freon... I recommend. They've done right by me on multiple vehicles including domestic, Japanese and German vehicles. They put in a faulty spark plug but made good on it when I brought it back and then added some free road hazard to the tires I had purchased there. No problems since it was replaced. I like the photographic evidence they take of various parts of the vehicle to support their recommendations and think that adds credibility. I've not had a mechanic for awhile and now I feel like I do. They grant access to the techs as well which just enhances my trust level. read more
