For starters I was greeted correctly. Had my feet soaked, cuticles cleaned so forth. Then as he's about to clean my feet he took out a used scrub, and washed it and put away. Disgusting. I went to Cali Nails earlier today for the first time, partially because I yelped and it got decent reviews, but also because I vaguely remember my coworkers telling me about a nail place they liked on Panama lane. Arriving was kind of crummy for parking because it's next to Albertsons, so all the grocery shoppers take the close up parking. But oh well. When I walked in, there were 2 people working (slow Thursday morning) and the guy who greeted me was super friendly. They take cash only, so come prepared! It was a 10 minute wait. This is perfect for me because I suck at deciding on polish colors. I got a pedicure from the guy who greeted me. Let me tell you all: I am not a girly girl. I rarely get my nails done. I feel so out of place and awkward in salons!!!! But this guy who helped me was super chill, easy to talk to, and did a great job on my feet. Normally guys I've had do my nails are too rough or cut too much, but he was perfect! The seats were in good condition. I had an awesome experience and I will definitely be back to see this dude! I went on Friday for a pedi/mani with gel polish, and the following Wednesday I was brushing my hair and noticed my hair got stuck in between my nail polish and nail bed. I was trying to be graceful and backtrack my steps, but I don't work nor do much with my hands that involves water besides shower and wash dishes. For it to be gel polish I'd expect them to last at least 2 weeks but they didn't even make it to a week :/ I paid 85 in total for my mani/pedi. I'd wish they'd last longer. read more

I really wanted to love this placed based on the Yelp reviews I read, but sorry to say, far from love. The pedicure ladies are very nice and did a passing job. Tony did my nail fill. I've been getting my nails done over 20 years and never experienced the style he does them. The best way to describe is Sloppy, he puts so much acrylic it oozes over the cuticle area, but he does this on purpose. I was open to the idea thinking oh wow maybe this way is better or new, nope not better not new, just his way. He had to file so much he burned my cuticles trying to get that acrylic shaped back to my nail area. Never have I ever experience that style and nor will I again, now I have edges from the outgrowth. Not good. I'm hoping the other nail techs are not doing his style for better results, but sorry to say, I don't recommend Tony. read more

I'm forced to start with the cons first Cons -You are not acknowledged as a customer upon entering the business, your just waiting around even though everyone has put their eyes on you, you're ignored -there's an attitude as if you're unimportant if you come in less than 3 times, because you're not considered as a steady flow of money, so they really don't care if you're pleased with their services or not at that point -I got my gel nails taken off, and regular polish put on my hands, it wasn't busy while I was there but they kept trying to rush me out before my nails were dry,so to speed the process up I decided on my own to move to an empty nail station with a fan on my nails, when initially they had me sitting somewhere else air drying -The nails were bad, the paint was old, the lady must have filled half the polish bottle with paint thinner by the time she was done painting my nails, and my nails were still an ooey gooey mess by the time I left, they would NOT dry -I tried to get home as fast as I could, (I don't live far) to run my nails under cold water thinking maybe that would help them dry,I waved them in the air to catch wind, this damn paint STILL would not dry -The next day I go to work and notice this sh!t still hasn't fully dried, it's still messing up, gooey and taking impressions from every damn thing I touch, so after 12+ hours I was still able to push and mold some of the semi wet/gooey paint around WTF -I hate my nails, they look like sh!t right now, I gave them money for bad services,so after coming here a couple times, the decision is now made to never come back Pros -Hmmm... -?????.... -This isn't the only nail shop open in the world,so you're free to go anywhere else, ANYWHERE read more

Tony at Cali nails has been doing my nails for over a year now. He does an amazing job! Some people who put on acrylics Leave a little space between your cuticle and where they place the nail making it where you have to come back within 7 to 10 days because your nails have grown out so far. However, Tony does not do that and whenever he does my nails I don't have to return for 3 to 4 weeks. He does an amazing job! If you haven't checked out Cali nails you have to! Miss Anna is really good and thorough in doing my nails.:) This morning when I came for a gel mani and pedi as a walk in, Miss Anna is already fully-booked until 5pm! That only reflects how good she is and how affordable this place is. They are very accommodating too.:) Instead of letting me go to work with my nails naked and ugly, they offered to give me a gel mani and maybe come back later in the afternoon for the pedicure.:) They have other manicurists and they are all good, it's just that, Im the kind of person who goes to the same person every time..:) So with the 30mins that we have before her next appointment, Miss Anna gave me a wonderful gel manicure and a really good massage too!:) The place is not as posh but highly recommended.:) read more

I had a great experience at Cali nails, I was searching for a nail salon in Bakersfield since I'm not from here. I yelped nail salons near me and I came across Cali Nails, I read a lot of reviews about Anna, so I called ahead and thankfully she was available, I made an appointment when we got there she was a bit busy, I had a short wait she started my pedicure first she took her time she did a very great Job. The Pedicure was one of the best I've had in a long time. she also did my nails I had a fill she took her time and my nails came out amazing my feet came out amazing. They were very kind people Anna is really good, she makes sure your satisfied. I would suggest visiting this place anytime you need a fill or pedicure in Bakersfield, I would've gave them five stars if the gel polish did not cost $18 I have never paid that much other than that I definitely will go back, I enjoy this place but Call ahead Anna gets busy.
