This place is a must ! To begin I called to make an appointment because the ratings in this place were high, and I am very picky when it comes to waxing. Upon entering the place looks luxurious, tidy and it's stocked with homemade candles; what's not to love? I was quickly called in to my room for a Brazilian and I was so happy that the pain was very minimal and the results were beautiful! I will definitely will be making all my waxing appointments here from now. read more

12 out of 10 customer service from the beginning. From the beginning, I was recommended Parlor Wax Co by multiple friends on instagram. I was able to easily find their phone number online and schedule a same-day appointment . As a male, scheduling waxing services is a little intimidating. But from the get everyone was super nice and helpful. When I showed up to my appointment, I was greeted by Jayme. She is super nice and professional and I was quickly taken into the back and my whole service lasted no longer than 10 minutes. (Granted I only did my ear and nose hair) But nevertheless Jayme was super cool and fun to talk too. When I was paying getting ready to leave I could not help but smell the how good the entire shop smells. I ended up purchasing a candle as well. So I've gone a couple more times since my review and felt disappointed that it was trending as a 4 star place. I prefer to support small local businesses rather than go to large chains but was getting restless. Finally I decided to go again but switch providers (duh, I forgot we have the option to do that!), and it made a world of a difference! I can now confidently state them as a 5 star joint. Never would you have thought the best eyebrow places I've been to is in Bakersfield! Easy online scheduling. Ana did my brows and she did a fantastic job! If I lived in Bakersfield, I would be a regular. The place has cute vibes for a waxing salon. While you're waiting you can see and smell candles made by the owner herself! What a cute and unique little wax salon! First timer here today. Came in for my eyebrows and was not disappointed. Side note, Parking was a little hectic, but considering it's downtown it is expected. Lol. Moving on, I was greeted right away by a young lady named Sandy, who checked me in. I was even like 30 mins early, but she got me in within 5 mins. Awesome! Sandy was also my technician! She was so bubby and friendly and did a very professional job on my brows! Very impressed by her work considering how how bad and bushy I let my brows get lol. I felt very comfortable and welcomed and left very satisfied. They also have a little lotion bar in the front with little soaps and lotions and skin care products. Very neat. Thanks Sandy and family! I will return. read more

It was my first time here and I went to get a Brazilian wax and what i liked is the time she took and the quality of the waxing in general. I usually do a hard wax and they usually take a while to get it done. This waxing was cheap, painless, and quick. On top of that she used tweezers after she was done which was new to me and one of the reasons I'll come back. She got it done very fast she was really nice and the conversation was good. read more

I love this small place! I come routinely to see Ana, and she does an amazing job every time! She's always so polite, and bubbly. She makes the experience very pleasant and comfortable. I'm proud to support locally owned businesses such as this one. It's such a cute little boutique style wax salon. I even brought my gf here for her first time getting waxed. My first Brazilian wax was actually a nice experience. I recommend my girl Aurora bc she was awesome and made me feel comfortable it being my first time. I will definitely come back . I won't go anywhere else. The place is always clean, professional, and all of the staff is friendly. They don't double dip their sticks, the job is thorough and I never feel rushed, I always feel my comfort is the priority. The candles are amazing, they always have sales or deals, and long story short....I'm picky, I have high expectations for service and quality, the service and staff make the experience pleasant, I always leave happy and so fresh and so clean! Booking an appointment is made incredibly easy through their website, they offer great value for their services. On two occasions I have been waxed by Sandy and she makes the experience painless and enjoyable as if you are catching up with an old friend. The store is located in one of those blink and you'll miss it locations but trust me, you won't want to! I've had awful experiences in the past with soft wax; so bad that I've walked away with bruises and abrasions in areas that are supposed to look better hairless---since those experiences in 2010, I've only trusted European Wax Center staff and their use of hard wax to care for those sensitive areas. So when I moved here about a month ago, I was devastated to find out there was no European Wax Center anywhere in town. NONE. ZERO. ZIP. ZILCH. NADA!! I immediately started yelping for a waxing center here, and after about of month of reading and rereading reviews, I finally committed to trying out the Parlor Wax Co because of their consistently PHENOMENAL reviews... and I'm soooo happy I did! The facility is very clean and beautifully decorated. My brazilian wax was done by Lindsay, who greeted me at the front desk when I arrived. She is so incredibly sweet and provided great conversation during my wax, which kept me relaxed and comfortable throughout the experience---that's important. I was very impressed by her application and hair removal process using the soft wax. She is simply amazing and has made me a fan of the old enemy. I plan to return to her routinely, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great professional waxer in town. OH! They also offer a numbing cream for an additional $5 (which I've never tried before), but it sounds like a great way to help calm the nerves if you just have a low pain tolerance or if you're a first time waxer. You do have to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment if you choose this option. If you need to cancel an appointment, you'll need to do so 24 hours in advance in order to avoid a $20 fee :) read more

Jackie! She is amazing! I don't have one bad thing to say about Parlor Wax Co. I found Jackie through my hair girl & started going to her when she was at another location. The new locations is FLAWLESS, GORGEOUS, CLEAN. It's perfect. If I had a business it would be ran just like this. Organized, Friendly, Up-to-date, Modern & So stinkin' cute! As for waxing (BRAZILIAN), never once did I feel uncomfortable. Of course I was nervous the first couple of times, but Jackie is super friendly. She is professional & thorough. The staff is friendly and kind. The setting is very comfortable. The rooms are clean and all materials used are very sterile. Wax sticks are never dipped in wax a second time after application. Appointments do not take more then 15 min if you are getting 1 small service done. They can be as quick as you need; however, you do not ever feel rushed through the appointment, so they can squeeze in more clients. This makes the entire experience worth it. I decided to give this place a try after a friend of mine recommended it to me. The receptionist was super nice when I called to make an appointment that evening. When I got there, I got nothing, but a warm welcome and the staff was super nice! I got Jayme and I loved her. She made me feel super comfortable knowing it was my first time getting a Brazilian wax! She talks you through the whole process and is super chill. Prices are reasonable and it's super pretty inside. Love the vintage style. Love love love this place! All the women here are the sweetest and so helpful. I always go to Lindsay for my service, but I've had Jayme too and she's just as great! I don't doubt that the rest of the girls are amazing too. The atmosphere is chill, and they have many products always on sale. I see Jayme at Parlor Wax Co. She is cheerful, fast, and efficient. She also makes great conversation which allows your mind to wonder and forget for a quick moment that she is ripping your hair out! I am also usually able to make an appointment (by phone) to see her fairly quickly (same day or next day) which I like. Because when you notice you need waxed, you need to go in rather quickly to get it taken care of. The studio is nice and clean and I love supporting local, downtown businesses! read more

The way Carla applied mine, I am having no issue at all. She also had quite a few tricks to make me feel comfortable during my visit with options of shows or music to listen to and a blanket to keep me warm if needed. She also was clear with her instructions for caring for them and gave me a brush to help with cleaning. I will be returning for my fill.
