The Dollhouse - Hair Salons Near Me - Bakersfield, California

I think I finally found my forever (as long as I live in Bako) salon. First off, this place is one of those FEW places where you can actually talk to a person when calling in and not some answering machines that get back to you 1-3 business days. I called and as soon as I hung up, someone texted me to book an appointment. I was arranged with Rosary, who was not only amazing at what she does, but also so kind, friendly, welcoming and felt like home. She did not only give me the haircut that I wanted and asked for but she also fixed the haircut that the other salon butchered. So grateful for her and her magic hands! The day I got a haircut was the weekend full of parties I had to attend to and it worked out perfectly because my hair was camera ready. I got the pictures back and I loved my hair so much. Got so many compliments about it. Lastly, this place is such a vibe. Extremely organized and clean. Everyone minds their own business but also very welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend this place and if you aren't booking with them, what are you even doing?! read more

Called to make an appointment. I let them know when I wanted the appointment for, they said they would put me in their group chat and someone would reach out to me. The lady that reached out said she had two jobs and she worked at a different location on the day I wanted which was the mall. I do not want to go to the mall where it is busy personally so I said no. The lady then said okay come to the salon and she would reach out to confirm the appointment. That never happened. I tried to reach out but couldn't find her number. Very disappointed. read more

Nelly is the best !! This is my 4th or 5th time going to her and she really takes the time to give you what you asked for , but also cares about the healthiness of your hair. I love that she explains what she is planning on doing and educating me while she is doing it so when I go home I know how to take care of it. She has the best personality and gets to know her clients. The music is always on and we have fun while she is doing my hair. Definitely recommend her if you are looking to go blonde read more

Gabby is the absolute BEST! She blended my greys in with other color. I had years of terrible home dyeing and in 1 day, she managed to undo all of the damage and give me a great look, and no judgement, lol. She really took her time and made every inch of my hair perfect, it was a full day for her. Everyone at the Salon was nice and welcoming, and Gabby and Gazelle were were funny and comforting. I love the atmosphere, Very pretty, but not stuffy. I never post pics of myself, but she made such a difference, here they are. :) read more

I was in search of someone special who could doll up my seven year olds hair with bangs: I was recommended to Sophia at the Dollhouse. I was nervous because it was my daughter's first hair cut, but I was not disappointed. Sophia has such a gentle spirit. The music was nice, kid friendly. The Salon was nice and service was amazing. I highly recommend Sophia if you're looking for a friendly and knowledgeable stylist. Also, Sam another stylist at the Dollhouse did an excellent Job on my cover ups. She was professional and kind. Overall Great recommendation! read more

Gail always does an amazing job on my hair and I would never ever let anyone else touch it because she's THAT good!! She won't give you unrealistic expectations and always takes care to be communicative with what is possible, without damaging your hair. She also does the absolute best cuts! I have had her give me many different styles of cuts and color and they're always ON POINT! Always amazing work done at The Dollhouse! I have followed this group of artists from their previous location and everything has only gotten better. The vibe is always positive and fun, always good tunes on the radio, and everyone is very accommodating. I have gotten my hair done by Clair, Gianna, and Layne before, you can't go wrong all of the artists are very talented. I have even gotten my nails done before by Bre for my wedding! Just recently I started getting eyelash extensions by the owner of the shop Heather and love my results. She can do a lighter or heavier look depending on what you want and never does anything that could potentially damage your lashes. read more

Absolutely amazing experience. I came here to make an appointment for a botched hair dye job and was lucky enough to be squeezed in as a walk in appointment. My stylist knew what she was doing and corrected my hair and made it look absolutely beautiful. I definitely recommend this Salon if you're looking for wildly color hair dye (mine is now a beautiful purple) and trim. read more

This place was the worst salon I have ever gone to. As soon as I walked in, the smell of marijuana hit me like a wall. Halloween themed place which was a little strange since it's December. I asked for icy blonde ombré hair and walked out with brown hair even though I showed the lady an exact picture of what I wanted. I would not recommend this place and I'm never going back read more

My hair was done in March by Clair, I was in and out so fast I was surprised. Come April my hair started turning green (Yes I have experience with maintenance with the color I had). My usual hair girl whose been doing my hair for over a year parted my hair and showed me the work that was done. She pointed out that only the top of my head was done. I paid $180 for this. I was very hyped about all the pics I saw on her ig and how she was praised for her work. I feel cheated and I feel like I will get no where if I reach out but I just want new customers to be aware because I wish someone would have warned me. The sad part was there was an assistant and neither one did the right thing and still took my money. (I understand if this was intended to be left for another session, but it was too much brown and was not discussed or explained or even shown to me). If you ask why I didn't check it was because I trusted her work and I had no reason to question her work. I'm not here to discredit her work but just to share my experience. read more

The Dollhouse - Hair by Clair 1.5 months later. - Hair Salons Near Me - Bakersfield, California

I am really surprised to see a bad review for Clair in a sea of 5 star reviews. Especially a negative review by someone who has only reviewed 3 places in two years and has no profile picture. Nor did she bother to leave pictures of her so called bad experience. In fact, the terminology used sounds like she may infact be a hair stylist and left a fake review to make a successful beautician look bad. Petty. Clair and her assistant, Tiffany are excellent at what they do. They are very attentive. Clair has had a lot of her colors and styles reposted in many popular Instagram accounts for the color products she uses...because she's that good. Do not let one bad review sway your decision use Clair as your beautician. She's phenomenal. I've gone to her every 6-7 weeks for over 3 years now. I've never had a bad experience. I'm very excited about my next appointment as it will be in their new location. I'm happy I found her and I refer all my friends to her. She's the best! read more

I went to Gianna for several months when I was living in Bakersfield, and had never been more pleased with my hair. She does a fantastic job and really listens to what you want. She always explains the best way to style your cut and suggests the best tools and products to get your desired look. It usually does take 2 or more hours if you're having color done, as she does schedule these back to back. I've always found it to be worth the wait. The staff and other stylists are always friendly and outgoing, and do everything they can to make your visit comfortable and enjoyable. Thanks, Gianna and staff! read more

Jen did a great job on my hair I was very very happy with the results and I get a lot of compliments thank you Jen

I had a wonderful experience at this salon! Tiffany was kind enough to contact me to set up an appointment that was convenient for me. She texted me ahead of time asking questions about my hair type and requesting pictures of the color that I was interested in. Tiffany was excellent in listening to what I wanted when it came to my color preference and giving me just that! And the prices were reasonable too! Will definitely be coming back! read more

Shandrea is the girl to go to here at Dollhouse. I love love love the time Iam there she always makes me feel comfortable, always keeps up a conversation with me. The vibe in her room is just wonderful! Matter fact I went in about a week ago and I was asking to her rid of my blonde idk why but I did and she sat with me and asked if I was really sure and she broke it down to me on how long it took for me to get the hair I wanted. Deep down I knew I wasn't 100% sure I'm so glad she talked me out of it. Love you Shandrea !!! read more

They ask my fiancé for a 30 deposit 24 hours before the appoint. We are from out of town, just moved here. We move quite a bit do to my job and out of everywhere in cal we been NO ONE has ever ask this before! Seem like some sort of scam! No how the world works with this kind of stuff dum asses. Thanks but no thanks you just lost out on 160 bucks and wealthy people who tip externally well! Do not go to place that ask for this trust me it a scam or they suck at doing hair and are scarred it will be so bad you won't pay! BS for sure read more

I highly recommend Erin Enos. I drove down to Bakersfield after receiving a very bad haircut in Porterville, and asked her to fix my hair while cutting off as little as possible because my hair was already a few inches shorter than I would prefer. She worked miracles and managed to cover up the weird "holes" the previous stylist had hacked into my hair. I didn't expect to actually like my hair when I left--I thought Erin would only be able to render it "less hideous," but I actually like my haircut! I will make the two hour drive to Erin and The Dollhouse whenever I need a haircut. read more

Always a pleasure getting my hair done here best hair stylists in BAKERSFIELD!!!!!! Hands down

I love coming here to get my hair done! All the girls are super friendly, so it's not like some other salons where you go in and talk to no one, except your stylist and maybe a receptionist. Plus, Clair ALWAYS delivers. She's very good at communicating with me, and not only taking my description of what I want and turning it into reality, but also letting me know what my options are/how many appointments a process is realistically going to take, or whether something I've asked for is just not a good idea/possibility for my many-times-colored hair. The decor in the salon is also cute and unique, I definitely don't feel like I'm in a chain salon. In short, definitely recommend this salon and the girls who work here! read more

Claire did an amazing job on my haircut, definitely brought it back to life and correctly framed my face. It's extremely difficult to get into contact with claire or a response. I went in to go lighter , my hair was already lifted to about 6/7 , roots natural , paid 200 for 1st session which is fine however my roots were left extremely brassy, which I do not like & specifically stated I prefer ashy tones. Claire did have an assistant, which would have been nice to know before hand. I prefer a 1 on 1 session with the person I'm directly paying. My hair is short, so not sure why she had the assistant wash me / tone my hair ? It's been about 2- 3 weeks since I've gotten my hair done, & I'm noticing breakage in the front of my hair. I've never before had this issue when getting my hair done. I've always used the same color shampoo/ conditioner & purple shampoo after bleach / coloring. Also after the first wash which was 3 days later, the toner completely washed out of my hair, not sure why? Claire did not check my hair before the assistant rinsed & toned , & in my opinion when having an assistant, it would be best to always double check their work and make sure it's the correct time to be rinsed. I would reccomend friends and family to claire for haircuts, however on going blonde i would have to reccomend to someone else. Claire's specialty is color , so as a client I should have took that into consideration when booking. read more
