The best part about this place is that most of the items are GF. Terrific steaks... My buddy had the ribeye and it was fantastic and I had the NY Strip that was very taste. We just had our 6 th meal at Caleb's and, like all of the others, it was wonderful. It was a Tuesday night (take that Craig LeBan) and everything was superb, as usual. The crab tacos and lobster rolls could not have been better. The integrity of the ingredients was complimented with wonderful sauce and seasoning. Main courses of a lobster, shrimp, scallop risotto glistened with saffron color and, again, the flavors were wonderful. I cannot get my wife to stop ordering Caleb's burger which she swears is the best ever and again to night was great. A fresh Harvest salad accompanied the meal followed by the flourless choclate cake and the fruit crisp desserts. We really don't think there is anyone in the New Hope-Doylestown-Lambertville area who is a better chef than Caleb, try him. read more

Should have known service would be poor from the moment we walked in the door. We weren't even shown to our table, the hostess just said you'll be sitting there and pointed to our table then brought the menus over later. Had to wait for the waitress several times during the meal. After we paid our bill and we'd been there exactly two hours from the time we sat down, the chef asked us to leave because another reservation was waiting for table. We told him he lost our business, and that we wouldn't be coming back but he said he didn't care. I've never been asked to leave in all my meals from NYC, to New Orleans to Las Vegas. It's a shame since it was good food and it was a convenient meeting point for the three of us. read more

Lunch for 2 today. Arrived just after 1130 to a mostly empty restaurant. After a cheerful greeting from the hostess, we were seated at a table at the window overlooking the parking lot and our car. The room is spacious, modern and clean. There is a second, smaller room with doors that could easily be a party room. Our waitress came over with fresh, cold water in a bottle, poured some into glasses and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. A diet soda and an iced tea sent her away for a few moments. We studied the menu, trying to decide on breakfast (available until noon) or lunch (starting @ 1130). When our waitress returned, my partner asked for her favorite item on the menu, and when the answer was the Cobb Salad, she ordered it. I decided on a burger with aged cheddar & bacon, well done, which is how it arrived ... kudos to the chef! Accompanied by terrific, crispy & nicely salted fries and whole grain Dijon mustard (by request), my lunch was excellent, as was Lynn's salad. While we were eating, the restaurant filled up, even into the smaller room ... for a Tuesday, it was crowded! Our waitress paid attention to us, checking if the food was okay, refilling soda and tea and, in general doing a good job in a crowded restaurant. She noticed we were done and offered dessert menus. We chose the pear, blueberry, strawberry crisp with vanilla ice-cream, and I ordered a hot Earl Grey tea. Dessert was fresh, hot & outstanding. Tea was also excellent ... not Lipton or Twining. All in all, highly recommended, and we can't wait to go back to try breakfast & dinner. read more

Just returned from dinner at Caleb's and we liked it very much! We liked the former Waterlillies, but this is a step up. It's still BYO, but they've upgraded the glassware. The decor is up a notch, too, although we miss the aquarium. The chop chop salad was excellent. The salmon was very tasty and nicely proportioned. The service was attentive and efficient. read more

I went to this place years ago and it was OK. I think it had another name but it is clearly not the same eatery. Everything we ordered was below average, the service was slow, and the place was unkempt. The main dining room was half filled but the noise was over bearing. We found Caleb's online and came here based on location and reviews since we were meeting friends halfway. The service was friendly, accommodating, and patient. Our server, Ashley was awesome! She was so happy we were meeting friends and provided the perfect balance of service and letting us take a really long time to sit and talk. The food was completely delicious. Today was my first time eating at Caleb's AR and I will definitely be going back! The breakfast menu offered such an awesome variety of dishes. I had a tough time deciding what to order - but eventually settled for the 3 egg omelet. It was well prepared and the side of potatoes was delicious! Great coffee too. Really good food in a warm comfortable setting. We make an annual trip to area and for the first time we ventured away from Peddler's Village restaurants for breakfast and boy was it worth it. The food was delicious, the service friendly and engaging. We will definitely return. We enjoyed pancakes many ways! Blueberry, silver dollar and banana all delicious and I love that they serve real maple syrup. Large mugs of coffee we're constantly refilled and our server was super friendly. I took my parents here for Mother's Day last year and it was delicious! The menu was semi pre-fixe, which was nice because you could still make some choices but the price didn't vary much. It's definitely a local staple, the chef came out a few times to greet people that he knew. The service was fabulous, our waitress chatted with us whenever she came over and they were pretty mindful of refilling our water glasses. The food was so good and the presentation was beautiful. Portions are just right as well- not huge but certainly not dainty. Whether you're local or just visiting the area, I'd definitely recommend that you stop in for lunch or dinner. It's BYOB. Our first experienced here, and we won't go back. Food was not hot, had to be sent back to kitchen to be heated. Hostess took back, didn't see waitress. Came back and was burned. No one ever came back to ask how everything was or to check. Waitress was to busy sweeping floor, while we were eating! We saw waitress when she presented check. Then she asked if everything was OK, we told her no. Her only response was "Oh, sorry." Hostess and waitress knew we had not a good meal, yet nothing was done. We had high hopes for Caleb's as we have friends who love it and the reviews were pretty good, but sadly six of the seven of us did not enjoy our meal at all. The waitstaff was very nice and the menu has nice variety. The problems we had started with the arrival of the food. The avocado toast was very bland and the salad that came with it was old and nasty looking. The burger was pretty good but tasted like it had liquid smoke or some artificial char broil flavoring that I tasted for hours and hours after. Ugh. My parents said the salads they got were bland as well. They also forgot to bring three of the items that we were supposed to get, but perhaps that was for the best based on what we did actually get. We are very fussy about our pancakes, bacon, eggs, and French toast, and they were all marvelous. I am very disappointed in what I thought was an upstanding restaurant. I called to make Mother's Day reservations and the hostess said she would call me back if there were any cancellations. She took my name, and before I even finished saying my number, she was ready to hang up the phone. I asked her to repeat back to me the number I gave her, and of course she couldn't. We love Caleb's for breakfast and brunch. Macadamia pancakes- yummy. Breakfast tacos -great. Delicious avocado blt. Have had mixed results at 2 dinners. One continual problem- when ordering tea they use a hot water dispenser instead of boiling water. Water is not hot enough for even 2 teabags to get tea dark enough to add lemon. Odd that a restaurant of this caliber has this practice. Noisy ambiance- try the downstairs which can be quieter. read more

The problem is that the menu doesn't seem to have changed in a very, very long time.(except for a few specials here and there) We went last weekend and saw the same things on the menu again. My wife and i tried Caleb's the other night and enjoyed it. It has an interesting decor and menu. The jambalaya was good and my wife enjoyed her crab cakes. There were several other entrees on the menu we wanted to try, so we will definitely go back. I like the Monday night locals menu, and the Tuesday burger night. They seem to be trying different things to bring people in. We went on a Tuesday night and it seemed busy. The one criticism might be the service. It was a bit slow and the servers are not very friendly. Overall you should try it. I believe you will like it. read more
