Had high hopes coming here has it has good reviews. However I was somewhat disappointed. Some of the meat and other food was dry and the ribs didn't have a whole lot meat. Still tasted good, and their homemade sauce made it better. One thing that's nice is as soon as you order they'll make it in front of you. This makes service great as you get your food almost right away. They had some ups for sure so I'd be willing to try this place again. read more

Amazing hidden little spot off of Power and the 202. It's a sit down little BBQ spot where the meat is cooked right in front of you- even the smokers are on full display! Their house sauces are amazing, the different pulled porks, briskets and sausages are rustic yet absolutely delicious. For anyone in the East Mesa area of Phoenix, you've got to try this! read more

I have been looking forward to coming here since it opened. Finally got the chance today, and even with all the hype and anticipation... it EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS. Had a little (then a lot more) of everything on the menu. No skips. The brisket was incredibly flavorful and melted in my mouth; the pulled pork and ribs are also outstanding. For sides, do not miss the corn casserole, mac & cheese or the beans. Their dessert specialty is the banana pudding, which is amazing, but the Aunt Diane's sheet cake is a special slice of chocolate nostalgia. Cannot recommend highly enough!! read more

Finally some real BBQ in the East Valley. In my honest opinion they remind me of Little Miss BBQ and I mean that in the best way possible. It helps that they are affordable and have plenty of seating along with an incredibly friendly staff. My husband and I are huge fans of the ribs. Hands down some of the most flavorful and tender ribs in town. Seasoned but not salty, tender to the point they fall off the bone and done consistently. The turkey and sausage are next of my list. The turkey is amazingly moist and really makes a good sandwich. The sausage has the right amount of heat and flavor. All of the sauces are delicious, try the turkey and the mustard sauce for a tasty combo. I will say the brisket needs work if they want to beat LMB. They are headed in the right direction but need to work on tenderness and seasoning. The corn pudding or what have you is the best side. The cole slaw and potato salad aren't too bad either. read more

I'll start off by saying that the food is great and I usually have a great experience with the employees. But when I came in with my husband, I was greeted with an extremely rude cashier. The other employees serving the food were AMAZING, but the cashier I believe her name was Presley completely ignored me but touched my husband and giggled with him. I thought it was a little weird but I let it go and enjoyed my food. I went back up by myself because we wanted some dessert, again she was short with me and extremely unfriendly. Caldwell's Country BBQ is hands down my favorite barbecue spot, and that's saying something. From the moment you pull in, it feels like you've stepped back in time to a country farmhouse where great food, good friends, and genuine hospitality still matter. The atmosphere is incredible. The pecan wood fire pits, outdoor seating, and rustic charm create the perfect setting to relax and enjoy some seriously amazing barbecue. The staff is always friendly, down-to-earth, and fun to talk to. You never feel like just another customer--they make you feel welcome every time. And then there's the brisket. Oh my... the brisket. Watching it being sliced fresh is almost as enjoyable as eating it. The bark is perfect, the meat is tender, and the juices running onto the cutting board are enough to make your mouth water before the first bite. Every single time, it's melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The sausage is outstanding, the smoked turkey is unbelievably flavorful, and the pulled pork is absolutely top-notch. Everything coming out of that smoker is done right. If you're looking for authentic barbecue, a laid-back atmosphere, and food that'll have you planning your next visit before you've finished your meal, Caldwell's Country BBQ is the place. This isn't just a restaurant--it's an experience, and one I highly recommend to anyone who appreciates great BBQ. 10/10. I'll keep coming back as long as they're slicing brisket. read more

If you're in the mood for some top-notch BBQ, look no further than Caldwell County BBQ! I have to tell you, this place is a hidden gem where the food is so good, it might just make you want to slap your mama (but please don't)! First off, the food. Oh my goodness, the food. Imagine the juiciest, most tender brisket you've ever had, then multiply that by ten. That's what we're talking about here. And the sides? Mac and cheese so creamy, it could double as a spa treatment. But let's talk about the service. Linea - remember that name because she's a BBQ angel sent from heaven. Friendly doesn't even begin to cover it. She was so awesome, I thought she might adopt us by the end of the meal. Need a refill? Linea's got you. Extra napkins because you underestimated the BBQ sauce situation? Linea's on it. She even recommended the perfect dessert to finish off our meal. And the environment? It's like they took a page out of "Rustic Chic Monthly." Cozy, welcoming, and just the right amount of country charm. It's the kind of place where you feel like you can kick back, relax, and loosen your belt a notch or two - because trust me, you'll need the extra room. In summary, Caldwell County BBQ is a must-visit. Go for the food, stay for the service, and leave with a full belly and a smile. And if you see Linea, tell her she's the best - because she really is! read more

Caldwell County BBQ was such a fun find, and this visit was definitely a 10/10 experience! We ordered a little bit of everything to share, including the brisket, pulled pork, corn casserole, potato salad, slices of bread, hot peppers, and pickles. Everything was so flavorful and satisfying, and the brisket and pulled pork were definitely the stars of the table. And I have to give a special shoutout to the sweet tea because it was SO good! Of course, we couldn't leave without dessert, so we tried the brownie and banana pudding. Both were the perfect sweet ending to the meal, and honestly, everything we ordered was a 10/10. But what really made this experience stand out was the customer service. Everyone was incredibly nice, friendly, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The GM even came over to check on our table and make sure everything was okay. I had a minor hiccup during my visit, and he was incredibly kind about it and even gave me a gift card for the inconvenience. That level of care and attention really meant a lot and definitely left a great impression. Overall, such a great experience! Great food, a great location, and employees who genuinely make you feel welcome. Caldwell County BBQ definitely delivered, and I'm already looking forward to coming back for another BBQ fix! read more

My order was ready on time , however, I did have to wait a few minutes because someone else was getting their order at the same time. I was impressed that he went over my order with me and noticed something was missing and took care of it. We loaded my car, and he was friendly and energetic. When I arrived at my workplace and taking the items into the meeting, one of the pans was greasy, so it not only got on me, but the carpet in my car. I would recommend getting more user friendly lids for the foil pans as I cut three fingers on the sharp edges of the lids. Two were superficial, however, one was pretty deep. It's not pleasant to cut fingers at all, however, when there are 20 people sitting in a meeting and I have blood running down my hand in front of them, that is not acceptable. I thought fast and grabbed a napkin and wrapped around it until I had time to go to my desk for neosporin and a band aid. The food was very good. If it weren't for the greasy pan and sharp lids, five stars would have been earned. I will probably still take my family there, however, most likely will not order catering again. I did leave out one food issue; the potatoes in the potato salad were a bit hard and should have been cooked longer. read more

Dear Caldwell County BBQ, I just wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the incredible BBQ dinner you provided for me and my guests. It was truly outstanding, and I couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The smell of the BBQ wafting through the air was irresistible, and we were eager to dig in. And when we finally tasted the food, we were blown away. Every dish was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the flavors were absolutely incredible. Our family especially loved the ribs, which were a true standout. But it wasn't just the food that made the evening so special. Your team's attentiveness and hospitality were exceptional, and they truly went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was perfect in every way. From the attentive service to the cozy ambiance, every detail was carefully thought out and executed flawlessly. So thank you again for your outstanding BBQ dinner. A Mixed Bag of Smoky Delights and Disappointment Upon Caldwell, the aroma of smoked meats was a tantalizing promise of the meal to come. The brisket was a standout, with its perfect balance of smoke and tenderness that melted in the mouth. The pulled pork followed suit, maintaining a juicy consistency that paired wonderfully with their house-made sauce. The sausage, too, was a hit, offering a spicy kick that was both bold and satisfying. The turkey, often overlooked at barbecue joints, was surprisingly good. It was moist and flavorful, a testament to the chef's skill in handling what can often be a dry meat. However, the meal took a turn when the ribs arrived. Expectations of fall-off-the-bone tenderness were met with a tough reality. The ribs, though flavorful, lacked the softness and ease of bite that one anticipates from expertly cooked barbecue. This was a letdown, considering the high quality of the other meats. In conclusion, Caldwell serves up a mostly delightful array of smoked meats. While they excel in several areas, there's room for improvement with the ribs. A tweak in the cooking process could potentially elevate the entire dining experience to perfection. read more

The smoked meats were delicious. The beautiful patio was covered in strands of soft lights which added to the backyard charm of this restaurant. It is an older ranch style home that has been converted into a restaurant. The smokers in the backyard are massive. The smoked brisket and smoked jalapeño cheddar sausages were tender and flavorful. My family loved the pulled pork as well. The smoked Turkey was surprisingly moist and for a Turkey lover I'm sure it would have won an award because we liked it even though we don't traditionally love Turkey. The sides were not as spectacular as the meats, but let's be honest, we went there for the meat. I mean, who needs side dishes when the meat is this good?! The only thing that might have made this an A++ experience is if there was a corn hole or horse shoe pit. We can cross this one off our culinary adventures bucket list for 2022. I'm sure we will be back the next time we are craving some delicious smoked meats. read more

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Caldwell County BBQ and I have to say, it was a truly amazing experience. But the real star of the show was the food. I ordered a plate of brisket and ribs, and my taste buds were absolutely blown away. The meat was so tender and juicy, with just the right amount of smoky flavor. The sides were also delicious - I especially loved the coleslaw. What really stood out to me, though, was the attention to detail that went into every aspect of the meal. The meat was cooked to absolute perfection, and the sides were all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. You could tell that the team at Caldwell County BBQ really cared about every dish they served. Overall, I would highly recommend Caldwell County BBQ to anyone looking for delicious, authentic barbecue in a cozy, welcoming setting. The food and service are both top-notch, and I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. read more

The food here is, without a doubt, amazing, and we're pretty picky! We ordered food for today, Labor Day, for pickup. We got the food home, and just like before the food looked and smelled awesome! Except one thing....we ordered lean brisket and we received fatty brisket (yes you have the option to order either which is amazing within itself!) My husband called back to let them know and they connected us with the manager. We weren't really expecting anything to be resolved, well because, let's face it is hard to find places that want to make it right for their customers.....not here...the manager totally made it right for us!!!! I wish I remembered his name he was no nonsense and only cared about making it right for us!!! Caldwell's you will FOREVER be our BBQ joint!!! read more

Initially, Caldwell County BBQ made a good impression with their warm greeting and brisket sample. Although the brisket was not exceptional, it was good. The mac and cheese was subpar due to dryness, and the potato salad was average. The outdoor seating area was clean and well-maintained. Unfortunately, the checkout process was marred by a cashier error, incorrectly stating that my payment had been declined. After verifying the transaction, I brought this to another employee's attention, who acknowledged and rectified the mistake. This embarrassing experience, compounded by its public nature, has discouraged me from returning, despite the BBQ being satisfactory. Jalapeño Bucks is a the best spot I have found for BBQ in the East Valley so far. read more

This was really good BBQ! I got 1/2 lb of brisket, baked beans, corn casserole, & a drink. Total was $27. I liked how they were smoking meat all day long. So it seemed like you could get any meat at any time of day, which is nice. Not like most places where you have to eat brisket for breakfast or you're screwed lol. The meat was sooooo tender, you could literally eat it with a spoon! Just perfection, no sauce needed but if you like BBQ sauce, they have 3 at each table to choose from. My favorite was the sweet & spicy one. I drove from Mesa & would definitely make the drive again!! The outside patio was really nice to sit at also! Parking was slim, but I parked across the street & had no problem walking there. read more

Caldwell BBQ is hands down one of the best BBQ spots around! Everything we've tried has been delicious, but the mini brisket sandwiches are my absolute favorite. The brisket is tender, smoky, and full of flavor, and the portions are always satisfying. And somehow, they also have the best pickles--they're the perfect crunchy, tangy addition to the meal! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, the service is quick, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their food and customer service. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful barbecue, Caldwell BBQ is definitely worth checking out. We'll definitely be back! read more

Cadwell County BBQ, helmed by pitmasters Chad and Steve, is a standout in the local BBQ scene. Their commitment to traditional smoking methods is evident in every bite, with meats boasting a deep, smoky flavor and a tender, juicy texture. The brisket, a crowd favorite, features a beautiful bark and a melt-in-your-mouth interior that's hard to beat. The sides at Cadwell County BBQ are more than just an afterthought. The coleslaw is fresh and tangy, providing a nice counterpoint to the rich meats. The mac and cheese is creamy and comforting. Overall, Cadwell County BBQ offers a well-rounded and satisfying BBQ experience that's worth checking out. read more

All I can say is WOW! Words cannot begin to express what a wonderful establishment this is. From the moment you pull into the parking lot and every moment following you feel the family atmosphere. You are greeted by everyone upon walking in and the menu was OUT OF THIS WORLD (not a single bad choice made made) If you are looking for the best BBQ in the EV I would stop your search hear! Also grabbed a T-shirt on the way out...because you know...Memories! Caldwell Country BBQ will not be easily forgotten though because I will definitely be returning! Again...Don't think...Just chose to eat here! read more

I can't even explain the disappointment still that my husband and I experience here. My last review was low because the food was mediocre. The owner reached out to me and asked us to give them another try. We have tried one more time and the food was no different. The ribs were chewy. The beans were watery. The pulled pork had so much fat in it I can't say it was worth it. If I wanted to pay for a glob of fat maybe it would be different. Overall, not outstanding. You want good ribs? I would genuinely recommend Famous Dave's still over this place. read more

This place is awesome!! What a great addition to East Mesa. My husband and I went on a whim one afternoon, and we loved it so much we went back the next day for lunch. My husband is not a huge bbq fan (I've taken him to great places in Texas and never really cared for them or bbq in general) and he said he really likes Caldwell's bbq so much. The pulled pork and corn casserole is delish! We will be back again and again. It would also be a great place for a private party...if they do something like that! read more

I really like this place. The ambience is fun and you can see the giant smokers and the smell of barbecue as your roll in. The food itself was delicious. I had did general Patton first and I think I'm gonna try some of the other brisket next. It was a little busy when I went in but that's usually a good sign that the food is authentic. I gather the place is new, but the owners have been around for 20 some odd years. I could tell by the fact that they were there to meet me when I came in. read more

To all bbq lovers out there. Caldwell County BBQ knocked it out of the park.Growing up in South Texas I enjoyed great bbq from some of the best pit masters and this was no different, but even better. I showed up today with 65 parents and swimmers from the Beach swim club out of Long Beach ,California and everyone was overwhelmed on how good the food was. Whether you had the great brisket , sausage or pulled pork this was definitely a meal to remember. Great Job guys Ernie G read more

I knew beforehand that a food buffet would be available after the wedding so I had low expectations set. When it was announced that food was ready I was one of the first to start the line and I had the pleasure of seeing all of the food containers unvailed and untouched by guests. First of all the food looked scrumptious and well presented (completely full tins). I forgot to take photos but from my recollection we had salad, mac 'n cheese, potato salad, pulled pork, brisket and chicken wings. The food was such a surprise with the wonderful flavor I had to inquire about where the food was catered from. Definitely hope to go to a location in person!

That being said, over the weekend we had dinner at the Queen Creek BBQ Co. who is a local staple in Queen Creek. The place is small, the service was relatively good, with the food being mediocre. Plus, the hours seem a little limited, they do not accept reservations with seating being first come first serve and not a lot of seating available. Given the historical location and space, there is also not much room for expansion. That being said, the menu offers your typical bbq options. They are known for their brisket (which I found to be a little dry) and have some creative variations of bbq like a bbq burrito, or a bbq bowl. I asked about burnt ends, which any bbq lover knows it's "the crack" of bbq, and the server gave us the shock of the night! Burnt ends are NOT on the menu but if you happen to get lucky where the burnt ends are ready, the chef GIVES THEM AWAY to the patrons in the restaurant at the time! INCREDIBLE!! Although we were not lucky enough to be there for the big giveaway, I pushed fairly well to try for a schedule of bbq so we could partake and the server said "even we don't know when this will happen!" It's a great marketing scheme to generate more business. I ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs while my husband had the bbq pork. I found my ribs to also be a little dry but overall the had. A decent flavor. The bbq pork was good with ample flavor. The best part of the meal were the baked beans! Always get the baked beans! They were divine! Overall, it's your typical bbq restaurant. If you're in Queen Creek, go to WoodBarn BBQ. It's significantly better than Queen Creek BBQ Co. in my opinion.

We came on a weekday afternoon, so it wasn't busy when we arrived. We got seated within the 10 minutes since they were setting up the tables for us. Ordering is fairly easy since they offer combos depending which meats you like more. Everything we ordered was good quality. My favorite meat cuts were the beef tongue, brisket and the intestines. If you're not into eating inside parts of animals, I would recommend getting the brisket or kalbi cuts. The Banchan (sides) were good too. They had fish cake, kimchi, pickled radish and cucumbers available. We also tried the tofu soup, steamed egg and corn cheese which all came out hot and tasted flavorful. This spot is a-la-carte, so you order off the menu and pay by items. My only downside is that they didn't have rice paper here since I don't really eat the white rice since it fills me up too quickly. Other than that, I would come back here again next time I'm visiting family. Service here was awesome too! We were checked on throughout our whole meal and the servers were friendly.
