As I come here very often and never had an experience like this ever anywhere. I would give their service a zero if could. I went there tonight with two other people and myself. The one young lady at the register was so unbelievably rude. To start off with our order we were using a axxess card. She wouldn't let us use it as we usually do. Yes I understand covid change things but just ordered the same thing 2 weeks ago and used it no problem. She told us you must not know how to use it then because that's how it works. Then when our food was ready we asked for 3 ranches, since we ordered two sets of fries and an onion ring for us, we asked for 3 ranches one for each. She told us no we only give two per order. We said well there is 3 of us and she said sorry no. We said what if there was 5 of us she said well then I guess you all have to share. Okay so we could have ordered separately and gotten 6 ranches then?? So she made us pay for another ranch. And lastly went to get a refill and she said no only two refills allowed and if you want you can buy another one. We said no thanks and she started mubbling under her mask. When asked what else she had to say said oh nothing. So we were leaving to go left the trash on the table not wanting to go back inside since she was talking trash and didn't want to make a big scene. She runs out as we are walking into the liquor store and yells at us just in case you wanted to know there is a trash inside that you need to put it into. Our job is not to throw your trash away. We asked her for her name and she says have a good night. We said no we want your name to call and complain how rude you are. She said her name was Rosie after thinking for a moment so probably not her real name. She said good luck with making a complaint. And kept yelling at us we walked away and got in the car. I love this place! it is a little "hole in the wall" on Hollister next to the dog day care and a liquor store but is cute and clean and delicious. I don't' know it is owned by the same people but it reminds me of Hamburger Habit, but cheaper, and with tacos too. If you haven't tried this place, do! you won't be disappointed. read more

This place is tasty. I always struggle between getting a burger or tacos, both are great options. The location in a little strip mall way out on Hollister is odd at first but it is worth the trip. The owner and girl at the register are always super nice. Being where it is located there is out door seating of course which is always a nice way to enjoy the lunch hour. read more

Haven't been here in a while but it seems the food isn't up to the same quality it used to be. I ordered a #2 meal and a veggie burger. When I went to big up my food I asked about the additional fries and soda that comes with the #2. He stated I didn't order the meal. I don't understand how #2 sounds like charburger only but whatever. Fries were cold and veggie bun was soggy from the "head" of lettuce that hasn't been drained. If you like the Habit, you'll love Cal Taco. Their history goes back to the same time, and I believe the owners of the two were related, which is why you'll find the "Char Burger" here as well. I no longer go to the Habit because of how much it's changed, but Cal Taco has stayed small, and still does it the old way. read more

This burger joint used to be known for their friendly service, great burgers, and chill vibe but it seems that their new ownership has just sucked the originality out of it. It has definitely become more corporate. I had their carne asada burrito and it was filled with more rice and beans than anything else, and the amount of sour cream was ridiculous, it just tasted so mushy and pudgy. This restaurant used to be run by the brother in law of the guys that run the habit, which was just ranked number 1 burger in america. So definitely come here for the burgers. Everything is very customisable, so easy to substitute things in or out. Overall a good little burger joint. For a fast food budget this place delivers good hearty meals. read more

Yes, we had a conversation while I ordered my food (none of your business). You interrupted my order to ask a stupid question. Then when my card was running and it took a minute you made rude comments. Natalie the employee had apologized to the line (you and one other person) for how long it took (not her problem). I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and a steak sandwich (it's tri tip) and they were both good. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the guacamole I added to it was yesterday's. You can tell because it was brown and had that acidic taste guacamole begins to have the 2nd day. Other than that I liked both sandwiches, I'll be back and hopefully the guac is fresh. read more

Being a Mexican food maniac and having a partner who much prefers American food, I really enjoyed the concept of this place. In my opinion, the number one way to assess a Mexican restaurant is by the chips and salsa. Well, the chips aren't free and the salsa is a little too bland for my taste. The Mexican options are also very limited. The saving grace to this shack is the $2 charburger days and the free drinks for students (but don't even think about combining those specials, it won't work). Overall, an okay place. read more
