Went there yesterday to get my car smogged. There were other cars there but I waited less than 5 mins. for them to start work on my car Both guys working there were GREAT! $65 cash or credit card. Highly highly recommend supporting this small business. I first called First Class Smog (Buena Park) because of ratings and a coupon. I told him I had a coupon and he quoted a higher price than the coupon and said read the coupon (that didn't say anything about that) and cash and credit card were different prices. He was a bit snippy so I thought red flag - not giving this guy my business. Then I called Cal Smog - they told me the price and told me they would take care of me right away. A business that does what they say they are going to do without a crappy attitude. Thank you! read more

Went to Cal Smog in Norwalk today and the experience was honestly way easier than I expected. I pulled up thinking it was gonna take forever, but they got me in super quick. The guy working there was chill, explained what he needed from me, and got the whole smog check done in like 10-15 mins tops. I paid $65 out the door. read more

Efraín did a great job getting the smog check done quickly. He was very kind. I will definitely be returning.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!! Horrible management. Horrible customer service. The old man that works there if I remember correctly his name is Patric is extremely rude and inconsiderate. Long story short my brother went there to get a smog done on his car and lost a charging device. My brother has a speech disability so I went with him to try and sort all miss understandings, this guy did not even want to hear me out because he misunderstood my brother. My brother was only looking for closure we did not accuse anyone of stealing. We just wanted to know if maybe my brother dropped it there, we did not have to be dismissed the way we were. I left my number so that the owner can give me a call. She basically told me that she was not going to do anything on the matter, as if she is ok with with the bad customer service this guy was giving. The whole time justifying his actions. I also used to deliver parts to this shop and I know for a fact that this guy always has problems with customers. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!! read more

Thank you for the response. For the sake of accuracy, I want to clarify a few points. After my vehicle was damaged at your facility, the only repair option initially offered by Patrick was for him to attempt to reshape the panel using a heat gun and a ruler, which I declined. When I suggested a compromise by offering to obtain a quote from a repair shop of Cal Smog's choosing, Patrick refused and said that was not an option. I then made multiple attempts to resolve the issue directly through phone calls, email, and other channels before filing in Small Claims Court. It was only during the court hearing that alternative repair discussions were raised. During the hearing, the court reviewed the evidence and ultimately entered judgment in my favor. Notably, the judge questioned how repair quotes had been obtained without the vehicle being present, as was discussed during the hearing. The judge also questioned how Patrick could be confident in repairing the damage given that he did not have experience performing that type of repair. The company has since sent payment in compliance with the court's ruling, though I did have to follow up several times before the payment was issued. From the beginning, my goal was simply to have the damage addressed. I'm glad the court was able to bring closure to the matter, and I hope the safety improvements mentioned will help prevent similar incidents for future customers. My original review reflects my experience and remains unchanged. read more

My girlfriend took her vehicle to get smog checked here and when the smog check was finished, the technician Patrick Granda backed her vehicle into a pole. He tried to hide the damage, pushing down on the rear bumper in an attempt to put it back into place and would not give her his insurance information. He said he did not have insurance. Why would you hire somebody to work with cars who doesn't have insurance. He refused to cooperate and only said he would "get his boys to fix it". He refused to give insurance or pay the quote that my girlfriend took time out of her day to go get to fix his mistake. Update: We called the police and the police came and he admitted to having insurance but still refused to give it to us. Truly awful experience. Can someone from management reach out to us because this is unacceptable. read more

Patricio was the best helper. I would recommend going to him directly. Other workers were no help.

Had to get my 1997 4Runner smogged for the first time since buying it. Many places I called said they only do 2000 or newer. These guys did the smog no problem. And check out their cute cat! read more

Drove into this spot as it was down the street from my work, and I think I will be coming here from now on. One car ahead of me, super short wait. Had a Smog Check & Certificate. Work done in a professional, friendly & timely manner. Fair price as well. Highest recommendation.

Friendly employee. Great service. The place might get packed with customer waiting during the weekend as there is only one employee working.

Quick service, very friendly. Was in and out quick for smog check. Hardly waited maybe 20mins at most.

Not sure why my car had a radiator leak just right after this shop worker open the hood on my car. He said someone popped the radiator cap and not secure it. I wonder? I had no issues with my car until I stepped into this place. Edit, Thanks for the owner response however I feel that if the cap was not secured, i would have had many issues with the car. It is possible it was loosened during the test? Anyway my car in the mechanic shop for diagnosis. $50 just to see what's wrong. No sure why this just happened as a coincidence. I take care of my car at dealers always and no recent work was done for this issue to just happen at the same time I visited your shop. I raised my rating but I am still not happy about the experience overall. read more

Very quick and reliable service. Have been coming here for years and will continue too.

Place was open on Sunday which seems rare for most smog check places. Was in and out in under a hour even with 2 cars ahead of me. Used their website discount and saved with that. Couldn't ask for a more convenient process for a smog test. Just let them know ahead of time that you have a discount so they'll invoice you properly. read more

Guillermo helped us and he was so nice and very helpful! I definitely recommend this place and I think it is rather affordable. This smog check took about 20 minutes or less and was convenient because it is right by my neighborhood! Great service and very friendly staff. I visited them for a second opinion for a smog check and they checked my car before running the actual test. They found out that the car wasn't ready and suggested me to drive the car a little longer. After few weeks of bringing my car with them my car still not ready. They didn't charge anything for their help and they always give me a good altitude. And their prices are way batter than the first shop a visited. I'll keep going to this place from now on. read more

Very helpful and took care of my care other than just my smog check. Waiting area is in the shade.

This is a former gas station repair garage that converted to a smog only center years ago. Guillermo is fast friendly and efficient. The waiting area has a large table and chairs with a ton of magazines for you. They also sell cold drinks for cheap. The only downside is that you're sitting in what used to be a bay of the auto garage and its open to the elements and can be very hot on a sunny day. So come early or come late if its hot. I like this place and continue to return with all my vehicles. read more

Cal Smog - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Norwalk, California

I only went to this place because I found a coupon for $34 dollars for smog test and a free re test if it didn't pass. Plus it was open on a Sunday and I don't have much time during the week to go. First, the guy working there was a bit rude. Then when the car was finished, he said it didn't pass. I said okay, but then he said he would charge $10 dollars for a retest. The coupon I showed him said it was free, but he continued to tell me. The original pricing is $60 dollars, so I am giving you a good discount. I don't think the guy understood what I was telling him. Either or I was getting irritated so I left. However, my car then showed the ABS light blinking on and off after, it was never on before and now it is. I told him about it and all he said was I don't know anything about that and I can't help you. I don't even want to come back to this guy for a retest. I came back, everyone was nice. All I can say is don't come back on Sundays. The people here are nice, even if I didn't pass. I got a better explanation on what to do and even shown. If you go here, don't go on Sunday. read more
