It's been 5? years since I used Bob from Hanneman's service. Cleaning out a drawer, I found his…read morecard and remembered that I never sent in a review. My engine blew up outside of Fernley. I called AAA and they sent Bob. Here we are, two old ladies trying to get to Sun Valley to meet up with friends. It was over 100 degrees. Bob picked us up on the freeway and 20? minutes from Fenley. Bob made some calls to see if someone could help fix the car. Most places were closed for the day. He called the Toyota Dealership in Fallon for us to see if we would take the car there - and to see if someone could look at it. He drove us there - they couldn't do anything but we could leave it there until the next day. Great. NOW what?? Bob found us a motel for the night - only one room available in the entire town. And he waited to help us with our luggage. Someplace along the way, He also called a couple of rental car places - nothing available. This was all during COVID, by the way. No car parts, no rental cars, no other form of transportation (by this time, I just wanted to go back home) and no buses, or even a way to get back to Reno to catch a flight. Oh - I'd lost my driver's license and credit card, so we wouldn't have been able to get on a plane anyway. (NOT a good day). You know how - when one thing goes wrong, everything goes wrong? It turns out, when one thing goes right, everything goes right. Bob was the first thing to go right. The friends we were driving to see had a best friend in Fallon. And one of THEIR best friends owned the Toyota Dealership, and the owner had close ties to a local rental car company and they just happened to be able to find a car for us. If anyone happens to read this, call him for me and say hi. Thanks, Leslie

My unpaved driveway is not the easiest to navigate in heavy snow. It has an incline and curves as…read morewell. My front wheel drive car had been doing well making it up the driveway until Tuesday night. I could not make it up the incline, and when I backed up to try again, I slid off into the slight depression that lines the side of the driveway. There was also a small mound of dirt that I drove over and so I was stuck. I called several tow truck companies, but many did not have the ability to do a "winch out". I googled "winch out services" and found The Tow Truck Company. The lady that answered the phone was very nice and instantly made me feel less stressed. She said she would send a driver my way in 15 minutes. I figured I'd wait awhile with the bad weather and probably many stranded drivers. The driver (Dylan) arrived in less than 45 minutes. He was super nice too and reassured us he would have us freed in a few minutes. After getting the car unstuck, he waited to make sure we arrived at our home safely before leaving (we took our neighbor's driveway instead). The cost was $255 which may seem expensive for a short time of work, but it is worth it to me if I am stuck/stranded. They charge $150 an hour including the time it takes them to travel to and from the scene. Again, worth it to have nice, professional help that responds quickly even in less than ideal conditions. They are available 24 hours. I highly recommend this company and will use them again should the need arise!

Predatory? No…read more Scavengers is more apt. Reading the reviews, I experienced it. This is a company that profits from hurting people. Yes, there is the occasional road side assistance. Primarily they look for cars to steal. Harsh word, but appropriate. If your business model for profit is to look for mishaps to take people's property and charge an exorbitant fee for them to recover it, it is an ethical crime. Of course, they are only doing their job and wouldn't be able to do this "service" if property managements and other places contracted them for the service. They look for mistakes, hope no one finds the vehicles location in a timely manner to rack up fees and auction them if able too. All the while carrying little for the damage they cause to property, personal effects or the people's lives they damage with their avarice. Reno deserves better.

Probably insane that as somebody who had their car towed this week I'm leaving a five-star review,…read morebut they deserve it . My apartment complex improperly towed my car this morning (story here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/montebello-at-summit-ridge-reno?hrid=mvbzlF1a8nmTLY7GOHfUGg&utm_source=ishare&utm_content=review). Milne was so understanding about the situation and recognized that the complex was going to hold me accountable even though it was the complex's mistake. They made the process so simple for me and knocked off one of the fees to relieve some of the financial burden. Many people don't realize that tow companies are just doing their job - don't put your anger in the wrong place .

This towing company is nothing short of predatory and completely unprofessional. They went against…read moretheir own policy, refusing to accept a simple drop-off fee, and towed the car anyway -- because apparently fairness and following your own rules are optional. They constantly drive around the apartment complex like vultures, picking off cars with zero warning, zero notice, and zero chance for owners to move their vehicles. There's no communication, no courtesy, just pure opportunism. Blink, and your car is gone -- and they don't care about the stress, inconvenience, or cost they leave behind. If you value decency, transparency, or basic human consideration, avoid this company like the plague. They operate like it's a game of "how fast can we tow before someone notices," and the residents always lose. This is not towing; it's harassment with a tow truck.
