I called AAA and they sent Bob. Here we are, two old ladies trying to get to Sun Valley to meet up with friends. It was over 100 degrees. Bob picked us up on the freeway and 20? minutes from Fenley. Bob made some calls to see if someone could help fix the car. Most places were closed for the day. He called the Toyota Dealership in Fallon for us to see if we would take the car there - and to see if someone could look at it. He drove us there - they couldn't do anything but we could leave it there until the next day. Great. NOW what?? Bob found us a motel for the night - only one room available in the entire town. And he waited to help us with our luggage. Someplace along the way, He also called a couple of rental car places - nothing available. This was all during COVID, by the way. No car parts, no rental cars, no other form of transportation (by this time, I just wanted to go back home) and no buses, or even a way to get back to Reno to catch a flight. Oh - I'd lost my driver's license and credit card, so we wouldn't have been able to get on a plane anyway. (NOT a good day). You know how - when one thing goes wrong, everything goes wrong? It turns out, when one thing goes right, everything goes right. Bob was the first thing to go right. The friends we were driving to see had a best friend in Fallon. And one of THEIR best friends owned the Toyota Dealership, and the owner had close ties to a local rental car company and they just happened to be able to find a car for us. If anyone happens to read this, call him for me and say hi. Thanks, Leslie

We were out in the middle of nowhere on the desolate trails, when the car became lodged deep in the treacherous sandy dirt at Camp Horse. After a couple of hours of relentless digging, we tried to call friends who live nearby with trucks, to no avail. We then trudged up the hot summery trail to the nearest park sign to call the forest rangers. They stated that they did not have trucks equipped to assist us. Great. But, they did give us the name of a nearby towering service. So here we are.... An incredibly nice gentleman named Junior roughed the bumpy unmarked dirt roads in search of us. He scoured the hilly roads, looking for our dirty helpless lost souls. Just when all seemed invisible for us, we see the most magnificent sight! Alas! A yellow tow truck is bounding down the dirt road, heading in our direction! He turns at the entry gate and pauses. Our excitement momentarily turns to worry, praying that he does not turn back. We give a shout and a wave, and he continued on toward us. Freedom! Sweet sweet freedom! The knowledgeable capeless hero named Junior expertly hitched the front end of our car to his truck of wonder and pulled us into the warm embrace of safety. Whilst documenting the joyous occasion on his invoice, we were discussing fishing. The gallant and brilliant Junior then informed us of some key fly fishing locations. Junior, coming in clutch once more! Bottom line: If I'm ever in another jam near this area, or if you, dear reader, ever are, I very VERY highly recommend calling Kramer Towing.
