During this transaction, I interacted with two staff members independently of the other & I was blown away with how genuine and matter of fact these women are. There isn't a large seating area (only a few tables) but I just popped in to get a few treats to take home. After I had taken plenty of photos (it just had to be done) I finally settled on a peanut butter & white chocolate brownie pretty sure it was a brownie) and a slice of Persian Tea loaf. My excitement levels went through the roof because anyone who knows me knows how much I love tea (I have over 200 different blends). My cakes were boxed up in a brown box and sealed with a Honeybee Bakery sticker. Service with a smile and tea loaf...I left in a rather good mood indeed! The tea loaf was £2.25 a slice and I found it to be really good value for money considering the portion I got. It was moist (even though I hate that word) and melt in the mouth stuff. Definitely going back for more sometime soon because it was that tasty. Highly recommended. My peanut butter and white chocolate cake was nice, but I'm not sure the combination was for me. Although I did finish it, it's not something I would purchase again but that's purely down to my personal taste. Staff were lovely and all of the cakes looked so fresh and inviting. Now my brother and I kinda have this "one mind" thing going on and both immediately decided on the King Ferrero waffle - topped with chocolate sauce, nutella, crushed ferrero rocher and served up with a side of whipped cream and a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. We sat down and waited on our waffles to be brought to us. It's hard not to take in the decor at this point. Everything is contrasting black and neon pink. It's a very American-diner-in-a-barbie-movie kinda feel. Bright, bubbly, cheery... did I mention bright already? It must have some sort of effect though because there was a great buzz to the place, full of happy chatting friends tucking into mountains of dessert. There were a couple of families with ecstatic children tucking into crepes and ice cream sundaes. I've took a mental note to bring my little one here for ice cream in the future. The table next to us had also ordered waffles and we immediately noted that we could have ordered one waffle and shared. It was enormous! Ours came quickly after and looked very impressive and incredibly chocolatey. The waffle itself was fluffy and not too sweet. The toppings were obviously rich - you get what you ask for with melty nutella and ferrero rocher - but they were great on top of the waffle. We were only given a fork and knife so eating ice cream with a knife was a new challenge, but I managed like the trooper that I am. Now I have to admit, I tapped out after half of my waffle. Even my brother's cries of "shame" couldn't propel me to finish the enormous task in front of me. I asked if I could possibly get the rest to takeaway and the staff were happy to take it away and pack it up for me. I didn't manage to get much of it when I came home as I had an excited husband and toddler fighting over it, but it's just made me want to pay another visit. The staff was super friendly and made our visit even more enjoyable. We purchased a few bars, cookies, hand pies and some scones. The prices were very reasonable. Every item was super fresh and extremely tasty. The cream filling in the pies was super creamy and rich. The filled cookies were amazing and I wished that I had more. The bars were irresistible and loaded with fresh fruits.

Now, as an amateur baker myself, I'd like to think I know my cupcakes. I bake from the Hummingbird Bakery books, and they always turn out fantastic. Having visited said bakery myself and got some dee-licious cakes, I can say that they are the best so far, but closely contended by this lovely little delight. The shop itself can seat a couple of tables of people. I am yet to sit in, but will do so one day for sure, as they sell Spanish hot chocolate that smells awesome. They have trays of different cakes every day. We sampled some marshmallow cupcakes, which, I have to say, are sweet beyond description, but bloody fabulous. You could easily share one between two and be satisfied (although I didn't, and was satisfied moreso). I just love everything about the place. I had no time to bake for visitors coming around today so I just went up and bought a box of 9 mini cupcakes, bite sized sponge topped with a peak of butter cream icing dyed vibrant shades of turquoise and pink, sprinkled with iridescent glitter. Gorgeous, cute as buttons, and went down a treat with the guests. The cupcakes are around £2.25 and the mini ones can be bought for £7.50 for a box of 9. Pricey perhaps, but in my opinion, you can never put a price on a good cake.
