Could not believe the distances I travelled, how many times my sis In law went round and round roundabouts seeking out hidden cake shops on the search for thee ONE lol, to come back to the one on my doorstep so to speak! Delightfully well displayed cakes here, all shapes, designs, colours, sizes! The cakes are on display all round the shop and their is also a centre display, I have no idea of how many cakes are on show, plenty!! And if you have a wee peek up on top of the display cases you can sometimes see the cakes due to be picked up! Feel like it is an extra wee treat, the designs are amazing! Their is also folders filled with a huge selection of cakes and they are all so reasonable in price! But do not be alarmed if you fall in love with a more expensive cake, a talk with the staff who are warm and welcoming may put your mind at ease, just ask what they can do to make it a little cheaper, i.e maybe you don't need 4 tiers or maybe the size of the tires can be smaller! They took the bottom tier away from the bling bling cake I set my heart on! I still had 3 wonderful tiers and had plenty of portions on my big day! And still took the top tier home! This place does amazing variety of birthday and special occasion cakes too! Well worth a look!

It's not my ideal location for afternoon tea as it's loud and busy but it didn't bother us as we weren't there for the atmosphere. The two ladies working there were really friendly and took our drinks orders quickly. We both ordered tea. I love the tea a Patisserie Valerie because it's loose leaf and served in a suki teapot. We decided to sit outside and watch people go by. It was a Saturday afternoon so very busy. Our food came really quickly. I was very pleased to see scones and real clotted cream. We were also given a selection of mini jam jars which was a nice touch. Sandwiches were also really nice. The cakes on top weren't bad but it wasn't something I'd personally choose, except for maybe the chocolate one. I'm saying a-okay because I felt the tables were too small, and also the tables didn't appear to have been wiped down in a while. The staff didn't really come outside to clear things away when others had left either. But I'd say overall fast friendly service and yummy food!

I bought a coffee and a box of macarons to take to the meeting. The coffee curing my hangover and the macarons made my colleagues even happier than I expected. They were delcious, sweet, cruncy, smooth and light. Everything a good macaron should be. So lets call that a 5 star experience. The sitting in occasion was slightly less perfect. I ordered a latte and a frangipane tart and I took a seat. There were a few other people in the cafe but it was far from busy. The staff were nice enough and my order arrived relatively quickly. Unfortunately my coffee was awful. It's not often that I abandon caffeine but this time I was forced to. The tart was ok - I'd order it again but it wouldn't go to the top of the list. So lets call that a 3 star experience. I guess that's why on balance it gets four stars. Realistically, that sounds about right. I hope the nasty coffee was a one off because I'm bound to be temped back in by the cakes soon enough.

My goodness me- this has to be the best value for money patisserie in the West End. Pretty much always guaranteed a seat - there is always the option to take away- this place has the most mouth watering selection of cakes, meringues and eclairs you could ever wish for. My personal favourite is anything with the unbelievable glazed caramel- I've not really tasted anything like this in Scotland before- this type of icing is popular in Turkey and the Middle East- very welcome indeed is this sugary confection! Standard cuppa available to go along but at £2.30-£3 a cake you really cannot go wrong here.

The panini wasn't bad and came with a small side salad and some crisps. The latte was ok. Everything was pretty fairly priced for the West End and I didn't have a long wait to get it. The cafe isn't huge and it was quite quiet. They have big TV screens behind the counter which cycle through their menu options and specials. The place is pretty average in terms of atmosphere but everything was basically fine. However, I seated myself by the window, which is where the cakes and pastries were displayed. It was pretty inevitable that I'd have to order something. So, after I'd eaten my panini I went to have a look. The cakes aren't labelled so I had a quick chat with the proprietor to find out what was what - he's a lovely Frenchman who followed the girl he loved to Glasgow and then fell in love with the city, it could happen to anyone. Anyhoo, after our chat I settled on the Fererro Rocher gateaux which was as delicious as it was pretty. After that I feel the need to come back to buy a box of cakes next time I have an event cakes would be appropriate for. Surely literally any meeting counts?
