I reached out to Donna to provide me with a cake and cupcakes for my wedding. I had a specific look in my mind and she captured it perfectly!! I provided her with a photo for a cake style and she made sure to make it unique to my wants and colors with matching cupcakes. We went with three different flavors: vanilla, chocolate with mocha, and red velvet and they were all amazing! So many people came up to me during the reception to tell me how wonderful they tasted and asked who made them. I highly recommend working with her and I will definitely come back for any future cake needs!!

The cake that Donna made for our baby girls baby shower was amazing! It was so beautiful that no one wanted to cut and eat it. It was definitely the center piece of our baby shower. When we met Donna, she was very attentive to what we wanted in terms of cake design. We showed her a photo that we really liked but made adjustments to it so it can be in line with our baby shower theme. The end product was absolutely amazing. Along with the cake we also ordered 12 cupcakes. They were so beautiful and added so much more to surroundings of the cake. However, in a few hours the frosting on the cupcakes were beginning to melt. But overall we had an awesome experience with Donna and will be utilizing her for future parties. Also, we called her and told her that the cupcakes began to melt. So she told us, on our next order she will provide a dozen cupcakes free of charge!!! What great customer service! She is extraordinary at what she does and does not disappoint! Thanks Donna!

Best. Cake. Ever! Thank you so much Donna! First time ordering a custom cake and I must say it was a very easy and fun experience. I feel so terrible that it took me almost 2 years to write this review. Donna made my wedding cake in May 2019, and not only was it exactly what I asked for, it was also delicious! My husband and I got married on May 4th.... neither of us are huge Star Wars fans (we do both like it, though). We just thought it was funny that we were getting married on Star Wars day, so we wanted a subtle reference to it without going overboard. Donna created a very simple and elegant cake for us, just like I requested, and topped it with Han & Leia.

All that was left over from our amazing cake!

I had a birthday coming up for my son and a big party to plan. I didn't want to bake a cake like I had done in previous years and I really wanted a show stopper cake I was new to the area and so I checked out Yelp to see what was available and the Cake Barn came up at the top. What really stood out where how many stars there were with so many reviews. There were 5 stars and over 100 reviews. I rarely see 5 stars for anything on Yelp so I looked no further. I called and spoke with the owner, Donna. She was pleasant and happy to make my son's cake. I had already seen one she did in her various reviews so it was like window shopping..."I want that one!" She asked for 50% down to save the date and we were off an running. I felt really relieved knowing his cake and cupcakes where going to be taken care of. The best part (besides eating the cake) was that she delivers it to you!!! When you're planning a party and you have a lot of other things to do....knowing the cake is set to arrive (almost like magic) is AWESOME. The cake was GORGEOUS. It made my son and I both really sad to cut into it. But when we did it was so wonderful and good. The cake was moist and the frosting was delicious. The cupcakes were fantastic!!! Everything went extremely fast and there was little left over. I will absolutely be ordering more cakes/cupcakes in the future :-) The only photo I have to show of the cake are the devoured leftovers

Not only Donna is an amazing artist/Baker, she's just the sweetest person and right from the start felt so comfortable with her. She just did a beautiful cake for my niece which I took all the way to OC, and my family and guests loved it. Everyone was saying how cute it was. Her cakes are moist and not overly sweet. Loved working with Donna! She is the best! I am so happy how the cake turned out for my son's first birthday. It perfectly complemented my head table in so many ways. Her communication and follow-up is so great too. She's organized and very fast in her responses. As a type-A person I appreciated how easy it was to communicate with her. She delivered the cake exactly at 11 oclock :) You'll love her detailed instructions about how to cut the cake too! And oh man, it tasted so good. If you are looking for a cake for a special occasion Donna at the cake barn is your person. Her baking is amazing. We had tried many bakers before coming to her in search of our wedding cake. Once we tasted her cakes and fillings we feel in love with it we knew she was the one. She was also very reasonable on pricing and so sweet. Found Donna on yelp! Called to get a quote she was very responsive, sent her the picture of what I wanted and the date she gave me the price and took various forms of payment . Cake barn seemed professional and nice at first. Until I told her that the cakes are out of my budget. I'm sorry but $6 a slice is a little overpriced in my book. I nicely said thank you but we will have to go with Hansen's Cakes or Jamaica's Cakes (both well established bakeries in Los Angeles) and she responded this.. "Yes, grocery store cakes will always be less expensive than a custom cake. Good luck." I couldn't believe she wrote this and told her that it is unprofessional of her to bad mouth those establishments, especially considering who she's talking about. Either she doesn't know about these two famous bakeries or she has a lack of respect for them. The cakes seem beautiful and the I'm glad people like them, but that doesn't give you a right to make comments like that. As a business owner, you have a responsibility to maintain your professionalism in tact. $6 a slice for a one tier cake? Wow. Talk about an unreasonable markup. Now I just received a message from her "apologizing" saying that her message was not meant that way. Oh and that by the way, it is inappropriate for me to review her since I am not a customer. I had a special birthday for my husbands 80th and was out of the country until the day before his birthday party. Donna was amazing in making sure that my cake was ready. I had not only 1 cake , but 2. The cake was the hit of the party. It was a Steelers jersey with my husbands last name on it and the number 80!!!!! Donna is the best! She has been baking our birthday cakes for 4 years now. She is patient and creative. I can just send her 2 or 3 pictures of cakes that I have pinned and tell her my themes. She combines the best features of all the pictures, taking into account what I like and how many people will attend. Her customer service is beyond my expectations! Just recently, I was celebrating my daughter's 12th spa birthday and a few items came off due to the excessive heat since the cake didn't fit in any of my refrigerators. In a heart beat, Donna offered to come by, pick up the cake and bring it later when the party started. I love her and now all my family and friends are using her. My husband and I were hunting down a cake decorator for my daughter first birthday. We wanted a special and specific design. We called many local bakeries, but couldn't find one that could accomdate to are specific needs. We found The Cake Barn here on Yelp. I spoke with Donna, and got a quote over the phone within 10 minutes. The cake came out better than the picture of what we wanted. Everyone in our party couldn't stop talking about the cake. The cake was rich in chocolate and filled with Dulce the leche. It Was the best tasting cake we have ever had. Bottom line, Donna was professional,exceptional, and a perfectionist. I couldn't be more pleased and happy with the service provided by Donna! Currently we live in San Francisco so I used our trusty Yelp to help me find a baker in or around Valencia since my mom lives here. I saw her work on here and was pleased with what she could do. I was even more pleased and satisfied with her prompt response time and how dedicated she became to our project. She has a true talent that really showed in her work and in her flavors of the cake!!!! Yum! We did an Alice in Wonderland tea party theme and her tea pot creation was absolutely stunning! I will go to Donna @ The Cake Barn for all our needs. I had a great baker whom we loved but she quit doing cakes so I was stranded looking for someone new & I'm happy to report we've found her!! Donna worked really hard to make our cake perfect. We inquired about a cake tasting and Donna doesn't usually provide a tasting unless you're ordering a wedding cake, but she made a special bundle for us within the next few days. I'm so glad she did, because we were able to create some amazing combos. From meeting with her to discuss the details in person to also having quick, responsive communication via text up to the night before our baby shower, Donna was able to execute our cake the way we imagined. There was a little mishap where she knicked the cake in the process and after some discussion she was able to cover it with fondant and make it unnoticeable. Just a heads up, the cakes look better in person than the photos. It was a beautiful, delicious cake and our guests loved it. We got two flavor combos: top and bottom tier were marble cake with hazelnut buttercream and our middle tier was lemon cake with raspberry buttercream OMG it was delicious. We had 70 guests. Donna was so awesome! She was great to work with from day one! Her cakes are amazing and taste so GOOD! She had several flavors of cake and frosting to choose from and even though this was for a birthday cake she had flavors for us to taste so we could make a decision. And a very hard decision it was because everything we tasted was awesome! And then the decorations, the decoration of the outside was more amazing than I imagined! We showed her a picture of an idea we liked and she blew it out of the water! So from beginning to end the Cake Barn is the BEST! And our new family cake baker! We are so grateful for the beautiful baptism cake that Donna created for our nephew/godson! I sent Donna pictures of what I wanted and she went above and beyond. I wanted something simple and kind of rustic. She suggested adding edible burlap and it fit perfect with our theme. She was quick to respond to my questions. It was difficult to decide what cake flavors we wanted for our two tier cake because she has so many delicious options. We went with red velvet and marble. We are very happy working with Donna for my two-year old's cake. We communicated through text messages - it was one of the most easiest transaction I had made in my life! She was straight to the point and made sure she understood what we want and what's important! I didn't get to do any tasting but she assured me everything is going to be great. I read some of the reviews here before deciding what flavors to go by and we were not disappointed! The Red velvet with cream cheese mouse, Chocolate with salted caramel smbc, and Lemon with raspberry mouse were all delicious! The cakes were gone before I even had a chance to eat my piece! As for the design, I will let the photo attached speak for itself! Donna nailed it! The design, flavors, pricing, delivery, etc... were done within 45 minutes of texting back and forth! This review is long overdue, sorry Donna. On September 30, 2017, Donna made us the BEST wedding cake ever! By the time Donna made our wedding cake, she had already made a birthday cake and a holiday cake for us, so we knew our cake was going to be AMAZING. It was absolutely Gorgeous but even better, it tasted AMAZING! We had Red Velvet, (my absolute favorite), Marble, and Almond (I know Almond doesn't sound good but trust me it is Fabulous!). ALL our guests raved about how great each flavor was, and we had some pretty picky people at our wedding. Donna is the sweetest person ever, and so easy to work with, and that's why she has made 3 cakes for us and will continue to make every cake we need. read more

My wife had only one wish for her birthday: an amazing cake. I had to go to several different places but once I tasted Donnas cake I knew my search was over. We actually ordered two cakes, both of which were fantastic. One of our friends actually had repeats during her bday and he's not a cake guy. My wife was extremely happy and that's all that matters to me. Donna not only gave us tastes of the different flavors but put a lot of effort in decorating the cakes. Her cake is moist and the American buttercream (we got strawberry) was to die for, not too sweet and home made. While there I saw cakes that were amazingly decorated for bdays and events, and while my wife just wanted to have a delicious cake I am sure that if I ever have an actual event that requires cakes she's my go to as well. Donna is amazing! My son's soccer themed cake and cupcakes were not only perfectly designed but they were delicious! Donna arrived early and even returned to fix something that only she had noticed. We have used the Cake barn for two years straight and every year they have created such beautiful cakes for my twins birthdays. I truly hope they never stop making cakes because we plan on using them every year for everyy bday party we have. She is always willing to work with my budget and tries to work with any "Pinterest" ideas/pictures i send her. She's always done an exceptional job and has executed each cake to perfection. Donna was absolutely awesome to work with! We had a cake delivered to an event held at the Valencia Hyatt...and it was a huge hit! Not only was it gorgeous to look at, but also was really delicious! 6-12-16: I can't think of a better place to order cakes from! Though I don't live in Valencia, I am happy Donna has been my go to person for my friend's cake needs. Donna doesn't disappoint in her creations! She can take a picture and transform it into something even better! Sometimes things look pretty but the taste is compromised. I've luckily never found this to be the case! Teh reason for celebrating was Dominic's 6 month birthday! Seriously, I'm going to have to make up some reasons in between because the taste is just that good! This time around, we went with a red velvet cake with vanilla buttercream and chocolate fudge along with vanilla coconut cupcakes. One dozen was filled with lemon mousse and the other was filled with strawberry mousse. It was all amazingly delicious! My friend is not a red velvet lover and she has been converted. So many rave reviews and oohs and ahs! Thank you, Donna, for putting so much love and attention to your work. It's really appreciated more than words can express! 1-31-16: Another amazing cake from Donna! The picture is amazing but truly breathtaking in person! I got a cake from Donna for my sisters baby shower and it was not only exactly what I had described to her I wanted, but was also delicious. It was a hit at the shower. Pretty sure I looked at close to every bakery in town and no one stole the show like The cake barn. Donna was the only one who spoke to me and made me believe that the cake was gonna be gorgeous and it absolutely was! She made me a cake and cupcakes for my daughters 5th birthday and on top of it looking beautiful it tasted amazing too! The hazelnut buttercream is to die for! Aside from grocery store bakeries, there is only one other Panaderia that I know of in our area: The Donut Hole in Prescott Valley. Lizarraga's is actually worth a trip to Gateway Mall for an astoundingly cheap and delicious treat. I'm hoping that Lizarraga's is able to stay in business. Donna is absolutely amazing! We have now ordered our wedding cake and our sons first birthday cake from her! I cannot say enough good things about the Cake Barn!! I sent Donna the theme of my sons birthday party and she sent back ideas for the cake. She responded quickly to all inquiries. When we saw the cake, I was absolutely in awe!!! The cake was a piece of art. The "wood" looked incredibly real, in fact, people commented on the fact that the top tier had to be fake because of how realistic it was (it wasn't fake!). The plaid design on the bottom was perfectly symmetrical and clearly hand cut and placed with perfection. Down to the wood design on the plate that the cake was placed on, it was absolutely perfect. In the past, my experience with great looking cakes, meant that they didn't taste that great, but that is not the case with the Cake Barn cakes. The only motivation for actually cutting into this piece of art, is knowing how absolutely delicious the cake is! I can't even count how many people asked where the cake was from, everyone was obsessed with it! It was the centerpiece of the party. We cannot wait for the next event to order another cake ! I have used the cake barn for my son's and daughter's birthdays and I can say that Donna's cakes are nothing short of spectacular. The first time got a cake from her I thought the figurines on top were plastic, but they were all made of modeling chocolate and were delicious. Every time I get a cake from her there is a part of it that I look at and think, that has to be a prop she bought, and every time she made it from scratch. Then there's the taste of these cakes. I'm personally not a big cake fan but these are to die for!!! Before I hired cake barn, I only ate German Chocolate cake. Now I can't get enough of any flavor Donna has recommended. I have tried salted caramel w/ butter cream frosting, strawberry lemonade and many other flavors of cupcakes. These cakes are so amazing that when your mom, wife, gf, friends wife, etc. make a cake they think is so incredible, you won't show them a picture of the cake that you got from Cake Barn because it will just make them feel bad about themselves. Donna was referred by my sister-whom I was doing the baby shower for. She raved about her as she had done her son's birthday cake for his second birthday. Donna was always prompt with my questions. My idea was for a naked cake because of our baby shower theme being a picnic. ! thought it fits well. Donna was all for it but made sure I knew that naked cake can dry out easily. I appreciate her honesty. she stated she will need to use some icing to keep it from drying, hence the semi-naked. It looked amazing. I love the fact that she was easy to communicate with and always responded to my questions. the highlight of the cake was the BABY shoes she made. it looked so real and yet edible. I love the flower design on the shoes with little pearl buttons. The cake was moist and delicious. We had a lot of other yummy sweets and the cake was a tough competitor. Donna was so nice and very accommodating. I called on a Sunday morning hoping she could do a cake for my mom's 94th birthday on Tuesday. I explained that it didn't need to be huge. I told her that two cakes had caught my eye that spoke to me of my mom's personality - the stained glass and the rustic. She explained the rustic would be too big, but she could do a 6" stained glass that would serve 12. Perfect! I told her my mom's favorite flowers - poppies and pansies and that she liked butterflies. No need to keep searching, this is the place to get your cake! We are having our second baby and wanted to have a cake that included our daughter and newest little one. We wanted a carnival themed cake, but were not sure of the specifics. We found The Cake Barn, and couldn't be happier that we did! Donna is so so sweet,so passionate about what she does, and let me tell you, she creates absolute perfection. My cake for my baby shower was flawless inside and out. But I have to say, what sets her apart from the others is that her cakes are by far the most delicious cakes my family and I have ever tasted! She makes everything from scratch and you can really taste the difference. I recently went to a party that had a cake made by Donna. I loved it and had to ask the mom who did it. She gave me Donna's business card and I called her about making a cake for my daughter's 5th birthday...a Cinderella/princess theme. I sent her a picture of what I wanted. The cake turned out more beautiful and more perfect than I thought it would be. Donna is such an artist!! She delivered her amazing creation with a smile :) And my daughter absolutely loved it. Where do I start? I wanted my little girls 1st birthday party and cake to be perfect, and I'm an extremely picky person. I was so nervous about telling someone what I wanted and not having an exact picture to show. Donna did beyond amazing!!!!! All my decor was very color specific and she got it spot on!! The detail she had, shimmer on the clouds, silver on the banner, and I've never seen buttercream that smooth everyone thought it was all fondant. Donna, owner of The Cake Barn, is incredible. She made a beautiful cake for my daughter's wedding that not only looked perfect, but tasted better than any wedding cake I've ever had. We, of course, are return customers and asked her to do a cake and cupcakes for my granddaughter's first birthday. Another amazing experience with the MOST DELICIOUS cupcakes in every flavor imaginable. The best word I can use to describe Donna is PERFECTIONIST. She is detail-oriented and does beautiful work. We had Donna make the cake for my son's 1st birthday. It was Peter rabbit theme and Donna was able to not only do what I asked for but made it even better! The cake was absolutely beautiful and it was delicious!! I received so many compliments and everyone loved it! We will definitely use cake barn again! Very professional and timely service. My emails were responded promptly and our cake was delivered at the promised time. I had a cake made for my daughter's first birthday celebration. I wanted this cake to be special, to have flowers and butterflies that represent the how special our daughter is to us and the story behind her birth. I sent Dana a picture I saw off the internet and requested a few modifications to meet our vision. Dana not only gave us what we asked for but she exceeded our expectations! We were so blessed to have come across Donna's website. She did such a beautiful job on the multi-colored cupcakes for my son's 6th birthday celebration. I only described I wanted a variety of colors, flavors and sizes and she came up with a wonderful assortment. She even threw in a special cupcake especially for my son. Donna made an amazing cake, cupcakes and even block letters out of rice crispies for my baby shower and they were all AMAZING!!!! Not only were they beautiful but they tasted SOOOO good!!!! Donna made my 21st birthday cake and it was amazing! (you can see a photo she posted in the album!) So when my boyfriend and I needed a cake for his little sisters 2nd birthday we did not hesitate to give The Cake Barn a call! I sent her a couple photos of what I wanted and let her work her magic and was not disappointed! Also when we needed to change our plans and have the party a day early, this didn't seem to cause any problem at all and Donna was able to have the cake ready with only a weeks notice! This is by far the best cake service my family and I have received..... we ordered 2 separate cakes for one occasion and we loved both of them, the flavor of the cakes were amazing , just enough sweetness and very moist. My boys loved the dinosaurs themed cakes... our party guest commented that these were the best looking cakes they have seen yet. We are so glad that we found Donna at The Cake Barn! We had pre-ordered a cake from another baker but had some customer service issues and had to find another baker a week before the event. We tried a few local bakers but it was too late, until we called Donna and explained our situation. She was able to squeeze us in! Not only did the cake look amazing, exactly what we wanted, it was delicious. That cake was the talk of the office! We definitely would recommend The Cake Barn. I was having a difficult time finding someone who could implement my idea into a cake but then I found Donna. She was so honest in what she could do and the kind of frosting needed to make sure what I wanted could be translated into a cake.
