I just have to share my experience about the sandwiches here inside of Gramas Bakery. They opened up a sandwich shop a couple months ago and I've had two sandwiches there so far. The Italian grinder in hoagie roll amazing and today I had the pastrami with Swiss cheese on rye amazing. I didn't take a picture of the grinder cause I ate it too fast, but I did take a picture of the pastrami half as I had already eaten half of it before I took the picture and it was just the most delicious sandwich ever. Both sandwiches I had they were the best sandwiches I've ever had and I'm a great cook and I know good food. Saw so many people coming and going. Had really high hopes! We ordered two sandwiches the bread was stiff. Asked for no greens or veggies and got a full thing of lettuce. The meat was so far off the bread like it was thrown around but realize it probably just slid from the mountain of mayonnaise. We got a cinnamon roll. Hard. Again tasted very stale and just like it was leftover from the day before. The staff was friendly and the establishment was clean hence the star. We tried Grama's Bakery this afternoon and were not disappointed. The woman at the counter was very sweet and knowledgeable. Let's start with the blueberry danish. It was nothing short of sweet, tangy perfection. It's the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness, making it impossible to resist. Next up, the cherry eclair. Each bite is a heavenly experience, with the richness of the cream perfectly complemented by the subtle tartness of the cherries. Lastly the coconut macaroon, the texture was chewy with a slightly crispy exterior, which was enjoyable. The coconut in the middle made me think it wasn't baked all the way at first until I got more intense coconut taste.On the positive side, the macaroon had a nice golden color and a pleasing appearance. This Prescott bakery has been in business for 40 years. The current owner has had the business 10 years. The location is central to Prescott, just off the Square, next door to the Hotel St. Michael. The location is very convenient to the places we like to visit. Although the baked goods looked very tempting, my husband and I had already eaten breakfast and just wanted coffee. My husband ordered a plain coffee and I had a latte. Both were fine. The drink menu is not as extensive as at a specialty coffee shop. This is a very small store downstairs at basement level. There is no indoor seating. Just outside there is a long metal bench with a back where you can sit and enjoy your purchase. My husband and I were staying next door at the Hotel St. Michael. We took our coffee and sat in their comfortable Lobby Bar. read more

I have been buying delicious treats from Grama's since I was a kid and very little has changed in this quaint hometown spot; the sandwiches are new though. The place has changed hands once that I'm aware of but the quality has remained.The service is always top notch. This morning I brought home 2 ham and cheese croissants, 2 Snikerdoodles and 2 cinnamon rolls. I'm stocked for the weekend unless I go back tomorrow to try the pastrami sandwich from the new expanded menu. We ate the croissants for lunch, excellent as always, the cookies are for dessert tonight. The cinnamon rolls are the best in town though we have quite a few good bakeries. Staff here is friendly, but the expectation of a tip for putting treats in a bag is a little much sometimes. Such a great find for coffee and pastries! We stumbled upon this place after we overhead someone talking about how good their cookies were. We tried the apple turn over and a lemon frosted cookie. Both were so good - probably the best lemon cookie I have ever had. The next morning we were getting ready to head back home and wanted something quick for breakfast. The bakery is in a very small space, I would say about 3-4 people max fit inside while ordering. Customer service was okay. This place is really good. It have a small selection, but it's a good selection of coffee and drinks and the baked stuff is outstanding. Everything I've gotten so far has been really good. Today was a ham and cheese and a chocolate croissant. I've never had a chocolate croissant with so much chocolate in it it was fantastic, the only thing I would say would be that it would be nice to have the ham and cheese heated up. I was finally able to try this place. My son is a pretzel lover and it looked BIG so I decided I'd split it with my son. The lady was nice enough to cut it for us and she mentioned it comes with some sort of saurkraut dip mixed with mustard that she said was popular. Yeah, the dip was terrible, you have to have a taste for those and my son did not like it either, he almost threw up. I wish they would have also had a cheese dip option as well, that definitely would have made my plain salted pretzel taste even better. My son really loved the pretzel, he kept saying omg this is so good repeatedly, lol I thought it was okay, very bready, but I know that's what a pretzel is but still just too bready for me.
