Frannie's Cones and Coffee is a charming shop in downtown Prescott near Whisky Row. It's most known for their ice cream which was incredibly creamy and perfect for summer evening! The shop itself is adorable with nostalgic car-themed signage and memorabilia. Additionally, the service was extremely friendly! We tried the espresso chip ice cream, and it was a huge portion that was so delicious and creamy (good texture without icicles)! Where Frannie's seems to overreach is in terms of the offerings. Their menu includes ice cream, shakes, frozen yogurt, coffee, baked goods, and bubble tea drinks. Based on the prior reviews, seems like this is a great spot for ice cream, shakes, and coffee. However, reviews for bubble tea are consistently negative and reviews for baked goods seem to be variable. Things to know: - there's a discount for paying with cash per some recent reviews. We ordered the shrimp fajitas and they were delicious!! The homemade warm tortillas are a wonderful welcome to a fajita meal! Our waitress was very friendly and her service was excellent. Love this spot! If you're walking around the square and need a sweet treat, this is the place. We were in town for Memorial Day Weekend and despite the crowds from the art show, the service was still so fast. The ice cream was so thick and smooth. Service service service !! This place was not our first pick. We had walked whiskey row earlier in the day with our kids and had found a treat store on whiskey row. We told them if they are good dinner we'd go back. Well at 645pm after dinner we went there and found it to be closed. Our kids were disappointed so we looked up the next closet ice shop to our hotel-FRANNIES popped up. My son chose their frozen yogurt soft serve with the several toppings to choose from. There was a sign to sanitize before serving or gloves available upon request. My daughter had a scoop of rainbow sherbet and my husband and I split the Cookie Monster Shake. All of it was delicious! I swear scooped ice cream just tastes better in small towns. Stopped here today to get ice cream for my husband and I. Got my husband cookies and cream with Reese's pieces, brownie bites, and Oreos. He loved it! I got mint chocolate chip in a cone. I hadn't had mint chip in a long time, this one was really good. Frannies has a good variety of frozen yogurt, with a couple of tart varieties and also at least one dairy free. I do wish that they labeled their yogurts for dairy free and gluten free as you have to ask the staff and on multiple occasions when I asked, the staff did not know the answer and didn't seem to know how to find out. The shop should have a cheat sheet for the staff to look up each flavor. On this trip I decided to try the Tropical fruit açaí bowl. The açaí base was good and thick and overall a good size though it did melt quickly. It was topped with pineapple and banana and included a lot of granola. The staff could not tell me if the granola was gluten-free, which was disappointing, also it didn't have any mango which was listed on the menu, maybe they were out of mango or perhaps she forgot. I didn't notice the omission until I had already left. Overall, I will continue coming back from time to time for the tart yogurt flavors, but will skip the bowls until I find out if the granola is GF. read more

I usually end up visiting Frannie's at least every other time I visit Prescott- but my last experience wasn't my greatest, unfortunately. This time, my husband and I stopped in for dessert after dinner- he got an ice cream big enough for us to share, and I decided to try a vanilla milk tea with boba. The boba was tough and flavorless- but that was to be expected and I'm not too disappointed, since I don't know Frannie's to be a boba place. I am at least happy that they're branching out and offering new things! I wasn't too happy, though, when my husband ordered a scoop of mint chocolate chip and a scoop of "Cookie Monster"- that's what was listed on the label, and that's what our server repeated back to us. When he scooped our ice cream and called it out when it was ready, he called out mint chocolate chip and "Monster Cookie"- a very different flavor of ice cream. What we got wasn't a blue ice cream with different cookie chunks in it- we got an ice cream swirled with peanut butter, which I'm allergic to. I went up to get the ice cream and asked what was in it, and explained that we had ordered "Cookie Monster" and not "Monster Cookie", but the young man simply said, "Oh, sorry about that", and didn't make any offers to fix the mistake and get us a new cup of ice cream. I do believe he was a new hire and being trained by the other man behind the counter, though, so I don't hold it against him and certainly understand if he was nervous or didn't know what to do. The other young man did notice what was going on and told the new hire to get us another ice cream- which we did pay for as well. I do love Frannie's and I certainly won't let this experience keep me from coming here and enjoying in the future!
