This is one of my go-to favorite hookah lounges around DFW. Good selection and varieties of flavors (I recommend anything with the ice-tip! Blue mist is good too.). Good atmosphere, sexy belly-dancing and food is alright. But the best part is the music! Usually they have pretty good live DJs on the weekends. The place gets loud, people start dancing. GREAT place to bring a group of people! Everything is Egyptian themed (of course) gold everywhere, Egyptian paintings and authentic looking sculptures and etc. There's plenty of TVs around the walls and a huge projector that plays various types of middle eastern music videos if no major sports games are on. Their couches are comfy and nice. My only real gripes about this place are that it's small and it gets packed. So it can become hard to find seating especially if you're bringing a few friends, so might wanna call and reserve a spot ahead of time. Also it gets really hot and humid in there because of all the smoke and people. And the place is nearly completely dark, so it's like smoking in a cave. It can feel like a sauna. Also it can be pricer than other places I've been to. It's overall a very good experience for the first timer of the place or hookah lounges in general. It's definitely a real fun place to be on a late Friday or Saturday night with a group of friends. Other nights of the week are kinda slow here and you don't get the real "Cairo experience" on those days. read more

My friend invited me to meet her at Cairo Hookah Lounge for drinks one night. I wasnt really interested in going but agreed to meet her there anyway. I was pleasantly surprised that it was very relaxing and enjoyable. The Egyptian theme was neat, the servers were very attentive and provided excellent service. We had a vanilla and orange flavored hookah which was pretty good. I drank the iced chocolate which i found delicious. It was fairly quiet with a laid back atmosphere. This is my favorite hookah bar hands down. I've been going here for like four years. It used to be our little secret but it seems people are starting to notice Cairo. It's a lot busier now and people seem to dress up a bit nicer. Depending on the day and time you come, it could be quiet and intimate or on weekends it gets packed and the music is super loud. It's BYOB with like a $3 drinking charge per person or so. 1 hookah to every 3 people rule, they will make you order more. I'm not sure if it's still the deal but they used to say no dancing because they didn't have a dance permit?? In all my time of smoking here, we have two personal favorites: blue mist/white peach with an ice tip or double apple honey bee (super strong, may make beginners light headed). I've only had the food a few times but it was pretty good. Service is decent but they seem to have a high turn over rate. The manager is really cool. This is one of the best hookah bars I've been to. I used to go to jasmines but the clientele is much younger and the atmosphere fits that age group. This hookah bar has a great selection of flavors and the service is awesome. I love that the bathrooms are clean and stocked with toilet paper and paper towels. One thing to check when you receive your bill: 18% gratuity is already included in the bill amounts but a line for tip is still on the receipt. Really nice location with average prices for hookah. The service here is awesome though - all the staff and the owner are nice and really attentive. I know at nights it can get a bit hectic but they'll still make the time to come by and say hi and shake some hands. I was in town visiting and was skeptical coming from NYC with great Hookah bars. We had a coupon for dinner for 2 and a Hookah, but even without the coupon I thought the prices were very reasonable. BYOB (how could you go wrong?!) but save your receipt because they asked us to see ours! The food was casual, but delicious. Their hummus was extremely good as well. The waiter was helpful and made many suggestions when we had trouble making decisions or had questions about the menu. The place was fairly empty, but it was a holiday weekend. They allow cigarette smoking which bothered me, but again, I'm use to NYC venues. I'm not sure if there are new owners, but I had a totally different experience from the other two reviewers. read more

This is a great atmosphere to just relax. This was my first time at a Hookah bar and the owner was very kind, helpful, and attentive. The Horus mix is amazing and a must try along with the Turkish coffee. The group that I was with had all been to Hookah bars before and they all had good things to say about Cairo's. Went last night with a date (Fri around 10pm). We barely got a spot to sit as the place was already packed. It's a bit on the small side. Owner and staff are very friendly. Music was a bit of everything, world music, salsa, hip-hop, house. Only ordered hummus off the food menu, it was very good, generous portion. Pros: the seating is kind of comfortable. Cons: horrible music. we almost could not talk to one another and the music selection was very annoying. the owner is disrespectful and very rude. he charged us 21 dollars for one hookah because he says its a house mix....... he blatantly ripped us off. the guy that handled our coals was slow and gave us an attitude. the owner charged us 5 dollars for a can of diet coke with some ice in a cup. if you want to feel disrespected, unappreciated, and you would like to get ripped off for the night i say you should go to this place. will never go there again. also to add insult to injury, the other reviewer Justin P worked there. he doesn't anymore but I know him he used to make my hookah when i went there after my classes, when they had very uncomfortable seating. read more

This place was great. The ambience and the dj were on point. The dj was playing great mixes that really went with the crowd. The hookah had a variety of flavors and the ones we tried were very smooth. The staff was super attentive and never let the coals burn out too much. The food was ok, they don't have a selection of dipping sauces for chicken tenders besides ranch. The ranch sauce was not very good. I see there's a lot of good reviews about this place and I agree with them when they say good music and stuff, but last night was my first and the last time here. People here were rude to us. The doorman was an asshole. Looks like he was never taught how to be polite to girls. Probably that's why he's a doorman and will remain one all his life. Now talking about the guy who was managing things there is the rudest piece of shit I've seen in a while. Whenever he spoke to us he was rude. Went for the first time last night and loved it. Crowd is mixed ages and ethnicity as is the music. It was lively and fun but not obnoxious. The service was awesome. Always made sure we had coals or a new ice pipe before we ever asked. They packed the hookah properly as well, it never once got harsh and smoked smooth the whole night. Also had several sports games going on multiple tvs if you're wanting to follow a game. Hookahs start at $14 but they charge half that for a refill. Some snacks if you need to munch and it's BYOB if you want to booze. Awesome find! read more

This hookah lounge will do everything in their power to over charge you. The only good thing about this place it was byob but other than that it's awful! Really bad customer service, the hookah is awful they don't bring you coals till your coals are ash, and the coals are never fresh. On weekends they charge you an entry fee... and it might be worth it if the hookah was good. But it sucks. They run this place more like a club then a hookah lounge. And paying $19.99 for 2 flavor crap hookah is just annoying. And being charged for a glass... it's stupid. I deff do not recommend this place based on the fact customer service is awful, and all they care about is making money and will charge you for every little thing. And he hookah is just awful. I will definitely not be coming here again. Rather go to a bar than bring my own liquor and be charged for literally opening it... and with all the other fees. Beware surprise charges! BYOB but they don't tell you they charge $3 per person "corkage fee" until you get your bill, and they charged us for an extra person. They also added a $15 service charge which the manager said is for "tip" even though the servers didn't know what the charge was for.. I doubt they get tipped out from that. A friend and I have slowly become "more" frequent smokers and so far, I would say Cairo is the best that we've found. I really like the music at Cairo than at Zero Degree FOR SURE. The couches are comfy, I love the egyptian paintings and decorations on the walls. Sometimes they can be slow at changing the coal, but I can understand cause it's usually really packed and busy there. I have a love-hate relationship with their filter-air-thingy. I like how it kind of sucks/blows the air away.. but at the same time.. I cant blow my smoke rings :[ The guys there always make good suggestions for the hookah flavors too! We were never disappointed. Also, I know there are belly dancers there, but I have yet to see them! read more

Good selection of hookahs. Super friendly, took great care of us and changed coals on the hookah frequently. Good music, not too loud. Lost a star for failing to mention that happy hour pricing is only if you don't BYOB ( which makes NO sense since they don't serve alcohol anyway). We got an appetizer sampler plate. Really good hummus and fantastic baba ganoush. Near UTD do mostly a college crowd, but nobody seemed to mind us middle-agers. We will definitely be back and look forward to it. I wasn't gonna feed more into this bs, but these ignorant fools brought this on themselves. Yesterday, myself and 4 other young black women decided to watch the game at what used to be our favorite hookah spot Cairo hookah lounge. Unfortunately there was a group of young men of color (not African American) there using racial epithets. The initial response from us was to chill out. Reasonable? Right? Nope. One individual who realized the issue proceeded to apologize, while is individual who said the slur decided to defend himself. Okay whatever. He then used the slur AGAIN. So of course now we're loud. Furthermore, there was another group of young black ladies next to us that stated they have been saying it all night and that they had already complained to management. Management's response to this was completely nonexistent. Instead of addressing the issue. They proceeded to tell us to calm down. My friend did the adult thing and wrote a review on yelp and apparently this is not the first time that Cairo hookah lounge has had this issue. The guy whom used the epithet felt the need to defend his use of the word by saying that he used nigga instead of nigger, while letting us know how ghetto we were. Little did he know we are all college educated black women. If you did nothing wrong a simple apology (as your friend did) would of squashed it. The fact that multiple individuals heard the same thing, complained and nothing was done regarding the incident... is not okay. I used to spend money here every week, I will no longer be patronizing your business if that is how things will be handled. It could have been addressed much better. read more
