We mistook this establishment for our luggage storage cafe due to the similarities in the awning and very close location. We walked in and stated we were there to pick up our luggage. They nodded okay and asked if we would like a drink. After a 2.5 hour fiasco of working with our rental apt company, it sounded good, so we sat and had a great spritz. I was feeling hungry after a bit so ordered fish and chips. I am no expert but they werent very good. So, we get up, pay 51 euros and are told they have no luggage there. Totally led to us to get business AND, cam e super close to making us late for luggage pickup because other place just up the street, had closed. However, they did let us in and we got our luggage. Avoid this place if you can, there are definitely better places to go. Be wary if you are American, they will try and upsell you as much as possible. I ordered a ribeye steak frites and it was subpar, the meat was over cooked and very fatty, with many tough pieces. The fries seemed like they were not made in the restaurant, rather the frozen kind that you heat in the oven. At first the waiter was nice, but that quickly changed. The service was slow and he took a long time to help us even when we approached him. He took so long to give us our check that I had to follow him and ask to pay, and when I presented him with a card he was annoyed and asked for a cash tip, which is cheap and rude even by American standards. The staff were nice to me, even when I messed up my French and tried to pay with pound notes (it had been a long week). They remembered me on the second visit and greeted me, even. Of course, I was also not asking a lot of mosquito-like questions to get to the exact bottom of food preparation and then being visibly annoyed because their English wasn't good enough to parse out fine distinctions between cheese consistencies, trying to get special orders, asking about gluten free croissants, complaining about why the food was different from the Cheesecake Factory version, or otherwise picking at them about why they were not acting more cheerful and gregarious. (And you may think I'm being facetious, but I witnessed every single one of those behaviors from my fellow countrypersons during my trip.) read more

They will lie to you and tell you that the tip is not included. They take advantage of tourists. DO NOT EAT HERE. This was the first place I stopped when I visited Paris. I had been in Belgium before that and knew that tips were not expected. I assumed the same here. My bill came out to 14 euros and I tried to use my credit card. My waiter said 15 was the minimum, so I pulled out 15 euros in cash. He walked away with it. I expected change but he walked past me 3 or 4 times before stopping to inform me that the 1 euro is for the service. Okay, sure, then why couldn't I use my credit card since that would've been 15 euros? And why don't *I* get to decide how much you get for a tip? TIPS ARE INCLUDED IN ALL RESTAURANTS IN FRANCE BY LAW. This sleezebag decided that I wasn't from France and extorted money from me. Even if tips weren't included, his behavior, and the fact that MY FOOD HAD HAIR IN IT, would have led me to leave no tip at all. HORRIBLE. DO NOT EAT HERE. The food is mediocre. Escargots, a crepe, a bottle of wine. Late lunch of champions! Little brother and I came here after an eight mile walk around the city - mostly up to Sacre Coeur and back. We were tired and wanted to sit down and drink somewhere. This touristy looking place was going to have to cut it. It did cut it, too. Our server was a pretty funny guy, and probably one of the most likable I've ever met in the city. When we asked for two sets of utensils for the escargots, he chided my brother about eating the chocolate and the snails at the same time. Then he said he wouldn't bring them out. And he waited a while. Finally, he came with them, and shook his head and laughed at us. He was laughing with us, though - not at. It was funny, not offensive or annoying to him. His service industry buddies could take a lesson from him and be a little less uptight. I liked the approach. He made his point but didn't get in the way in doing so. Decently priced, too. I don't know why I'm not giving it four stars. Probably because I see no reason to come back, necessarily, but it wasn't bad at all. If you're in the area, try it out. You won't be disappointed. After a long day filled with sightseeing and walking, we ended up here for some food and drinks and it was a good time. Our waiter was friendly and gave us some great recommendations of places to try. He even taught me some French sayings that will help me throughout our trip! The food was ok, but the fries are what sold it for me. They were so fresh and crisp and tasted like real potatoes haha. The drinks were mixed well and were strong but not pass out after a sip strong. All in all a wonderful experience. read more

The perfect reprieve from a cold Seine River tour. We enjoyed hot soup- Carmelized Onion aka French Onion for my American friends and a Vegetable Soup with lots of added cheese. Horrible service. Waiter rather blatantly tried to cheat ne out of 10 euros. I gave him a twenty and coins for 0.4 for out two rather high priced coffees. A wonderful location right by the Seine. Whatever you might be up for - a light breakfast, a lunch or a romantic dinner, that's a nice place to go. Very touristy and therefore pricy, of course, but what in Paris isn't? We were having our late breakfast here, a bit too late in fact - bear in mind, that they run out of croissants by midday. If you are lucky to get one though - they're heavenly. The rest of the breakfast was not as impressive. The service makes me fell like like rating the place 1. Terrible is one word for it... *Content Warning: Assault, Contamination, and Animal Death* --- I was with two other friends looking for a nice cafe for lunch. This looked nice enough from the outside. We sat at an outdoor table. We ordered two sandwiches and a roasted chicken with a side salad. The food was fine. Nothing special. Halfway through our meal, my friend turned over a lettuce leaf on her plate to find a dead moth covered in dust, clearly stuck to the lettuce. I had not even gotten halfway through my sandwich and all three of us were completely disgusted and immediately lost our appetite - my friend whose salad it was said she was going to throw up. We politely got the waiter's attention and showed him the plate. He insisted that this bug must have "fallen" into the dish from nearby trees. This was obviously not the case as the bug was long dead and, as I've said, integrated into the salad. As we all were completely disgusted, we no longer felt able to finish our food and decided to leave. We felt our dining experience had been horribly interrupted by the discovery of the establishment's unsanitary conditions and the likelihood that our food was also, more subtly, contaminated. We informed the waiter that we would be leaving the establishment then and there, and as we were halfway down the street, we noticed one of the wait-staff was charging after us. He demanded that we pay for the two club sandwiches which we had been unable to finish. Three other wait staff joined him and, as my friend insisted we would not be returning, they attempted to physically drag him back to the restaurant multiple times to pay for food we couldn't even finish. My friend was shaking and in a state of distress, having been handled and pushed around and bullied by the wait staff of the establishment because of their mistake. There were multiple concerned witnesses. They refused to acknowledge the problem with the dish or accept blame, and treated us as if we were dining and dashing. They called the police. After a bystander pointed out that they had literally assaulted my friend, they gave up and let us go. It was a harrowing experience. We have worked in restaurants before and understand that finding a bug in one's food is utterly unacceptable. No man should ever physically or emotionally assault another human being, let alone a patron of their establishment. We hope this has been helpful in painting of picture of this seemingly quaint cafe. What seemed like a quick bite to eat along the beautiful Seine took a dark turn and became a nightmare which will live on in our memories forever. read more

This is by far the worst place I've been to in Paris. I was taking a stroll at night with my boyfriend (a Parisian) and I needed to go to the ladies room. My boyfriend suggested to get a drink at this place so that I could go (embarrassing but hey, happens to everyone). So we go and we both spoke to the waiter in French and at first he kept speaking to us in his broken English. Whatever, that was fine. Then we ordered a simple coffee and then the waiters spoke very loudly in French and was like "what did they order? The coffee? Really, the coffee?" In a condescending way. Talk about RUDE!!!!
