So my friend and I were out in the area and we had extra time to kill before returning, so we decided to find a quick stop for food-- leading us to here! My friend and I called it a "quaint" spot, because it was a cute and cozy coffee shop (honestly the best kinds). The environment was really warm and welcoming and the second we walked in, we were greeted by the workers (who were really friendly!) We both ordered their hot chocolate and two paninis (#1 & #9, I don't remember their names though). The hot chocolate was really good and the foam art on top of it was cute and pic-worthy. Also my friend did point out that the temperature was spot on and not too cold or hot or anything. Although the paninis did take a little while to come out, they were overall really good (and came with a side of chips or salad) It's also a nice spot to get some work done if it's not too busy (because it is a somewhat smaller spot). read more

Caffespresso takes me back to my study abroad in Italy. This little coffee shop/eatery is a great place to meet with friends, do some work, or just chat with the very friendly staff. Naturally, the espresso and coffee are good. But what's even better? The panini. Hot damn, these panini are good. The foccaccia they use is crunchy and tastes ever so slightly of some great olive oil. They have a pretty large selection and (I can't believe I'm actually saying this) the salad they give you on the side is fantastic. Supposedly, they have wine-tasting nights along with some complimentary food. I've heard it's a great time. I'm going to check one out soon and I'll give an updated review on it. But definitely go, it's obviously not close to downtown but take the trip. It's worth it. read more

If you're looking for a place that plays great music and has good Carmel lattes this is it. Cafeespesso is a very cozy little coffee shop. They have couches, and wall benches, and a bookshelf loaded with books. If you're going to study, I suggest bringing headphones because it can get a little loud. Only giving three stars because well, I've only visited once! But I will definitely return. read more

My wife and me recently moved to the area and were looking for a good Non chain coffeeshop. Decided to try this place based on yelp reviews. Went on a late Sat morning and the place was easy to find and almost empty( just 1 table occupied). The decor was filled with paintings and pictures and some fun stuff and we liked the place. We ordered a panini and couple of coffees, the price seemed a little on the higher side, especially considering the tiny size of the panini. It was also not on par with paninis i`ve tried elsewhere, pretty bland (bread overpowered with italian seasoning), bread too crisp (almost felt like i was having cheese and tomato in between 2 huge chips). I understand its not a chain and have to keep prices a little higher, but at almost $9 i expect atleast a good sized panini. Will try some other place next time. read more

This place is cute and quaint! I love it! Stopped in to grab breakfast and they have something called the Puffy Pizza. So I got the Puffy Pizza and an Apple Cinnamon Scone To-Go. Can I say that it was absolutely delicious! I sampled it in the car riding to work... and let me say that the food didn't make it to work. I enjoyed every bite of it in the car on the way the work. I had a small americano and a pancetta, egg, and cheese. I arrived at 7:40am and they were not busy, but just five minutes later as I waited for my meal and they became extremely busy. Love this place! It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is very cozy and nice inside. Everyone is friendly and it's all so good. I have tried a panini as well as a few little desserts. My favorite drinks are the hot lattes such as the chai tea latte or mocha latte. The designs on the hot drinks are so good and make for nice photos if that's something you would like. Sometimes it's hard to find a table, but that's understandable considering how good it is and with its relatively small size. I discovered this place after seeing a coupon on living social for it and decided to try it. It's a cute italian coffee shop that has a great caprese panini. Their lattes however are AMAZING, and so pretty too. I got the mocha latte today, and it was the best I've ever had along with lamplighter. They make all their own food on site so don't be in a rush when you go there. They also have free WIFI. I am very curious about the pizza that takes 30 minutes to make, and I believe I will try it soon. read more

I was very disappointed with this cafe. I love a good coffee and I really like to support family owned businesses when I can even if it means I drive a little out of my way or spent a little more money. After reading great reviews about the quality of their coffee and paninis, I decided to check them out. The first time I went was a Sunday about 1:00 and they were closed even though the sign on the door and the website said they closed at 3:00. The second time I went, they were open but after looking at the menu for a moment, the lady informed me that the were not selling food today, they were only selling a limited coffee menu. Caffespresso is as authentic of an Italian coffee shop as you are going to find in Richmond. Claudio, the owner, does a great job of bringing his native culture to this tiny shop in the west end. The cappuccino are great and way better than any starbucks coffee. The panini are incredibly delicious and made with care. Imported Italian meats, handmade focaccia and the right amount of natural olive oil and sea-salt make this panini delicious. The environment is really nice as well, comfortable chairs and couches as well as a take a book/leave a book section. Cafespresso is a great addition to the Richmond foodie network. read more

Excellent, not much else is needed to be said. Staff was very courteous and friendly. I had a latte and a panini and enjoyed every bite and sip. Probably the best cup of coffee I've had in Richmond since moving here, and the panini was simply delicious. (It was the turkey / pesto, but they have 12 other variations) Absolutely going back to try some of the other sandwich options, and of course more espresso. I stopped by here while traveling for work. The mappucino (vanilla cappuccino blended with almond milk and ice) was amazing! It was mildly sweet and had a smooth consistency. I didn't yet finish my drink, but the espresso kept me wired for 8 hours. I'll reach for the rest of it upon awakening in the morning! I ate a tuna melt panini; all paninis were made-to-order. I also drank hot green tea; the teas were not loose leaf, but of Harney & Sons brand. The owner was friendly and welcoming. My husband and I love this unique little place. We stop by after going to the gym for a QUICK lunch. Something has happened in the past few months. It is now taking over 45 minutes to have a panini made! When questioned about our order today, we were told rather rudely that they had to bake the bread and it was so fresh and we were told when ordering (we were not!) When we went, the sink was out of order, therefore we had to drink it in paper cups, which is fine, but we were sitting in, so that kind of was a bummer. This is an amazing cafe! It's so laid back and comfortable. The staff is fantastic. Their super friendly, genuine, funny as hell, and cheerful without being phoney. My order was correct, yummy, and prepared super fast! A real fruit smoothie that got added love b/c the barista thought ahead about natural sweetner and not adding sugar. Ice coffee was on point! I intend to make it my cafe of choice! Better than settling for the other place we shall not name. I live on the opposite side of town but it's worth the drive! Love this place. The atmosphere is perfect. There are couches in the back by the "take a book, leave a book" bookshelves. I've been here multiples times and always get the same pesto panini. It's HUGE and so so delicious. The pesto isn't overwhelming on the turkey and cheese like most store bought pesto and the bread is perfectly crisp.
