Cute little coffee shop in the heart of Ballard. Nice staff and gave me a few recommendations in food. The cafe can get busy but overall a chill vibe. Parking can be hard and expensive in the area but super walkable being in the middle of everything. Food coffee and food. Would definitely stop in for a break especially on a raining day like today

The first time I visited, I got the espresso doppio and the cafe Al Pepe. Both were good -- the espresso was chocolatey (but not too concentrated). I haven't had any cafe al pepes before so was pleasantly surprised by the pepper flavor profile. However, the second time I went, I got the cappuccino al cacao. It was SCORCHING hot!! Definitely had minor tongue burns after the first sip. I was super disappointed.. overheated milk is one of the marks of bad coffee.

Extremely aesthetic coffee shop with plenty of outlets. I got a latte made with nonfat milk. I was (pleasantly) surprised when the barista brought my drink over to my table instead of just shouting my order; I always get nervous about spilling! The included chocolate was a nice touch too. I also appreciated that they had the option of sparkling water. Overall, a pretty good place to do work. I'd bring a jacket though; the AC is turned on pretty high. Will definitely be coming back.

Delicious! I bet competition is steep in Seattle, but Cafe Umbria really brings it. I was in Seattle for a month and this was probably the best coffee I had. The service is fast and efficient, likely because they are deeply busy (we went on a Sunday during the farmers market, so that didn't help). Even so, we had our drinks within minutes. We got an espresso and an americano, and both were made perfectly. You could tell that the coffee is very high quality. It was pretty loud in there, so I don't think (at least on Sundays) that this is the best option to sit and hangout/study, but the coffee definitely rules!!

In Seattle you will find many coffee shops. Some will charge you an arm and a leg and have crappy customer service. This place is the opposite. The coffee is top notch. They understand the quality of coffee and will make sure you experience how Italians enjoy coffee. I love that they gift you a piece of chocolate with your coffee order; quality chocolate. The aesthetic is gorgeous with many sitting options. If you're in Ballard, go here if you enjoy good coffee and want to be greeted with a friendly smile. PSA: Please use your indoor voice (be considerate of other visitors)

Tried their cold brew and it was really bitter. Husband enjoyed it though, hence the 4 star, but I need something with some sweetness.

Unfriendly, aloof staff. Cappuccino so hot it burned my mouth. And yet they ask for a tip before I have even got my food and drink.

Yummy . Vanilla latte and roasted baguette with butter and jam, delightful . The decor is beautiful and simple, and the staff is friendly.

Great cold brew, staff seemed tired and a bit slow. Would still argue it was worth the wait, barista clearly knows what he's doing.

The foam was so deliciously creamy. I loved the lemon flavor, and it worked well with the matcha. I think they could have done a little more lemon, but I always think that. Definitely one of the more unique and memorable drinks I've had in a while. I also got the oat and coconut cookie, which was absolutely divine. It was incredibly soft and had a great texture, with the coconut adding a really nice flavor. Honestly one of those cookies you wish you had grabbed two of. The service was also super friendly, which made the experience even better. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, and the overall vibe felt warm and inviting. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable, which is always a nice bonus. Great drinks, amazing baked goods, and kind service--would definitely come back.
