Cute little coffee shop in the heart of Ballard. Nice staff and gave me a few recommendations in food. The cafe can get busy but overall a chill vibe. Parking can be hard and expensive in the area but super walkable being in the middle of everything. Food coffee and food. Would definitely stop in for a break especially on a raining day like today

The first time I visited, I got the espresso doppio and the cafe Al Pepe. Both were good -- the espresso was chocolatey (but not too concentrated). I haven't had any cafe al pepes before so was pleasantly surprised by the pepper flavor profile. However, the second time I went, I got the cappuccino al cacao. It was SCORCHING hot!! Definitely had minor tongue burns after the first sip. I was super disappointed.. overheated milk is one of the marks of bad coffee.

Extremely aesthetic coffee shop with plenty of outlets. I got a latte made with nonfat milk. I was (pleasantly) surprised when the barista brought my drink over to my table instead of just shouting my order; I always get nervous about spilling! The included chocolate was a nice touch too. I also appreciated that they had the option of sparkling water. Overall, a pretty good place to do work. I'd bring a jacket though; the AC is turned on pretty high. Will definitely be coming back.

Delicious! I bet competition is steep in Seattle, but Cafe Umbria really brings it. I was in Seattle for a month and this was probably the best coffee I had. The service is fast and efficient, likely because they are deeply busy (we went on a Sunday during the farmers market, so that didn't help). Even so, we had our drinks within minutes. We got an espresso and an americano, and both were made perfectly. You could tell that the coffee is very high quality. It was pretty loud in there, so I don't think (at least on Sundays) that this is the best option to sit and hangout/study, but the coffee definitely rules!!

In Seattle you will find many coffee shops. Some will charge you an arm and a leg and have crappy customer service. This place is the opposite. The coffee is top notch. They understand the quality of coffee and will make sure you experience how Italians enjoy coffee. I love that they gift you a piece of chocolate with your coffee order; quality chocolate. The aesthetic is gorgeous with many sitting options. If you're in Ballard, go here if you enjoy good coffee and want to be greeted with a friendly smile. PSA: Please use your indoor voice (be considerate of other visitors)

Caffe Umbria serves great coffee and always has friendly and accomodating baristas. One of the better coffee shops in Ballard in my opinion!

Love this place. Coffee and delish and baked treats are yummy if you can eat gluten. I miss bread!

Excellent coffee and friendly staff. The space is visually appealing but a little too loud and busy for me.

Is there a table in the bathroom I can change a baby on?

Sadly, no. Ours is still small enough that we can change him on their bathroom counter.

The foam was so deliciously creamy. I loved the lemon flavor, and it worked well with the matcha. I think they could have done a little more lemon, but I always think that. They have lots of beautiful looking pastries to try. The croissants were especially beautiful to admire. There is ample amounts of seating, so you can choose to take your goodies or eating them inside. I went in the early afternoon, so there wasn't any line, but I am sure if you went at brunch time, it would be a whole different story. The food was decent, and the service was okay. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing really stood out to me either. Everything was just fine, which isn't necessarily a bad thing! That said, I wouldn't discourage anyone from giving Fresh Flours a try. They have a nice selection of baked goods, and I'd definitely be open to returning to try a few more things on the menu. Maybe I'll find something I really love next time!
