I would say as far as a coffee house would go specifically Caffe luxxe is it really great coffee house The people there are really nice I like the design aesthetic they have a really pretty back area that you can kind of just sit shoot the breeze and talk and the quality of the coffee's actually very good as a coffee official or connoisseur I can say it's some of the best coffee I've had in the valley or even in Malibu I would say if you're anywhere near the area this is definitely a place you want to check out and don't miss out read more

I stay in Malibu a few days every year and my 1st stop is always to Caffe Luxxe for a Café Nico. The drink is small but very good. This last time I got an iced mocha as well, and it was delicious. It is located on Busy PCH, so it can be challenging getting in and out of the parking lot. The parking lot is small, but I've always found parking when I went later in the day. Their location is very clean inside & the staff is always helpful. The ocean is right across the street! Perfect place to take your coffee for a walk along the beach. I don't know much about coffee, but I believe Caffe Luxxe will satisfy all types of coffee connoisseurs. Enjoy! read more

In my opinion the prices are a little steep, my iced drip coffee was $5.25. I found this place on Yelp and we came because of the amenity listed "good for working." In my opinion a place can't be good for working that doesn't have WiFi. I didn't realize they didn't have WiFi until after we had ordered and sat down, my fault for not reading further on yelp as this is listed. However at the shop when I found out I thought no problem, we have a Verizon mifi. No luck with that either, the place is a vortex. No internet from our Verizon or AT&T phones for hotspots either. I do recommend to the shop to remove the amenity "good for working" because working for most means having access to the internet. Great place to come if you aren't working and want to have a coffee with a friend, don't need cell service and don't mind spending the extra cash on quality beans and passion for the brew. read more

Here is the breakdown: dECOR / AMBIANCE The shop has a nice contemporary look to it with light colors and some nice contemporary seating. Very cute spot that has a nice background music perfect for casual conversation with friends or a cool spot to work if you enjoy working on a nice background noise. Although I live right near the Santa Monica Luxxe location, I've never convinced myself to stop in and see what the big deal was. This weekend I was up in Malibu and in need of a caffeine pit stop so when I drove by this Luxxe location I figured I had no excuse not to check it out. I ordered a simple cappuccino and my mom got the signature Shakerato. The cappuccino was very smooth, although had perhaps a bit too much milk for my personal preference. The pull was smooth and rich, though. The highlight was hands down the Shakerato, which is an iced mocha shaken over ice and thus not diluted at all. It was frothy, rich and smooth and overall extremely delicious and refreshing without being sickeningly sweet. Although we got our drinks to go, I got a sense of the space and was very impressed by the spaciousness and calming atmosphere here. Also, it's a huge space! The store was quaint but I would definitely come back for a drink or come here to do some work between beach tanning sessions. Caffe Luxxe is a wonderful addition to Malibu! The interior is decorated nicely and creates an open and light atmosphere. The shop is larger than I expected which is nice and they also have a cute back patio where you can enjoy your beverage. The guys behind the counter were very kind and helped me pick which drink to get. I opted for the caffe Nico which is an orange/cinnamon drink and it was soooooooo delicious. It was $4.75 when served in a latte cup which is comparable to Starbucks and coffee bean (plus the quality of this coffee is much higher than those shops). The only reason Caffe Luxxe doesn't get 5 stars is because there is no wifi - especially with spotty service in Malibu. Perhaps this is a good thing so people don't turn this place into their office. It also forces you to have good conversation with those around you or even enjoy a good book. So maybe the poor reception isn't so bad after all. I will be returning soon and often - definitely check this place out if you haven't already! read more

The vegan gluten free banana chocolate chip pastry is actually the most delicious thing ever and I am neither vegan or gluten free. I had a cup of hot sencha green tea which was very smooth & not bitter at all. Big fan of the ambiance, did some peaceful reading & letter writing. I would recommend putting up a "no wifi" sign, just so people don't come in and get frustrated like a few of ladies seated behind me. ***terrible idea if you're in a hurry!*** I stopped in this morning (Sunday) while my boyfriend waited in the car to grab a cappuccino to go and waited well beyond an acceptable amount of time in line. There were two baristas behind the counter but there may as well have only been one, because only one was actually working and the other was deep in conversation with a couple who had already ordered their coffee and lingering. Both baristas moved at a pace I'm accustomed to seeing at a fine dining bistro where you have all evening! Both baristas were well aware of the ridiculous line running out the door and couldn't care less. I witnessed a few potential patrons take one look at how slow the line was moving and left, frustrated. I was losing my mind at this point! It took every ounce of self-control to keep my big mouth shut!! And while I realize I could have left and found coffee elsewhere, I had already waited sooooo long, what was ten more minutes?!? Guys... I will say this: it was an excellent cappuccino but I would never stop here again on my way to Cross Creek! And lucky for me, my boyfriend is insanely patient!! read more

Smooth coffee with a trendy environment. A lot of people get upset that there is no wifi but honestly it is a welcomed feeling for me. Stopped by this Cafe after a long day of hiking in the Malibu Hills. Great great place. Relaxing and clean vibe inside. Plenty of parking. My almond milk latte was one of the best I have ever had. This is the type of place that I foresee becoming very popular and potentially crowded. We had to add the milk latte and mocha for the drink to actually taste mediocre. We also felt extremely rushed by the employees considering the fact this was our first time visiting this shop. Absolutely my favorite cafe in all of the Los Angeles area. Consistently excellent on every level--the staff is always incredibly warm and friendly, and well versed in everything they sell and serve. The coffee is delicious. The pastries are beyond divine (especially the gluten-free, vegan chocolate-banana-walnut cake....OMG, even if you're a wheat-lovin carnivore, you HAVE to try this little nibble of heaven).
