I recently moved to SLU and have had the WORST experiences with customer service here. Walking into Ladro, I braced for the worst. Instead, I was met with Lily who was a breath of fresh air! Lily was kind, and when I ordered a food item, she offered her input which solidified that I was making a good choice. She also repeated back and made sure to ask me if I had said oat milk, which I appreciated. read more

A great coffeeshop in a beautiful location. My latte and almond croissant were both delicious, but what I really liked about this spot was its location, on the ground floor of an old, cylindrical apartment building. That means that this location has a really cool shape, with a super tall ceiling and matching floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the street. The counters along the windows are an incredibly cozy place to sit and look out over Seattle. I will definitely be back. read more

Charming little coffee spot with large windows for street views and excellent beans for flavorful brews. Caffe Ladro is a quaint yet unique coffee experience. This is a local chain with locations around the greater Puget sound area. This particular location is on the first level of a condo tower. The large floor to ceiling windows offers street views perfect for getting lost in random thoughts over a cup of coffee. Seating area has a mix of wingback chairs and stools. There is an outside patio area for anyone seeking fresh air. A long bar area accommodates many patrons and overall ambience is a nice mix of retro chic. Delectably sinful pastries are displayed in glass cake stands. The menu is quite simple, however one can request to customize their drinks with the selections of syrups. I recommend trying the Medici. At first sip, the subtle orange flavor is a nice introduction and the brew doesn't overwhelm. I also recommend their coffee cakes and granola. Each location may carry a different set of pastries and are based on availability. There are other alternative drinks such as teas, orange juice, and frozen lattes. read more

I tried Caffe Ladro for the first time today. I had an Americano (with less water to make it stronger). The coffee was on the acidy side than most coffees, and I really liked it. 4 stars for the coffee (including the pricing). The ambience was not as good as I thought it would be. It did not feel cozy, and it was not warm inside. Also, the floor and the windows were dirty. I'm not a super huge fan of their coffee (just not icing the bean flavor) BUT their chai teas are some of the best around. I'll walk 8 blocks when it's cold every Saturday for a good chai from these guys! And even better. Every barista I've come across is always in a fantastic mood. I always leave feeling happy and I love that it's small (not huge like Starbucks) and I love asking the baristas their fav drink on special and giving them a try. Some are great. Some not so awesome. But I love That I can get a small town vibe from a place smack in the heart of downtown. read more

Was staying at a nearby hotel and decided to venture out and try a local coffee joint. I walked in and was greeted by a very nice lady. She helped me with my coffee order and that was that. The guy that was making the coffee was a completely different story. He was cold, rude, and definitely lacked customer service. It was so bad that when he called out peoples orders, he wasn't happy. For such a populated place, you'd think that you'd at least like people a little. Get a different job dude! Your attitude sucks! This was Sunday September 1st, 2019. This was one of my favorite coffee shops that I visited in Seattle! The menu offerings where simple and straight forward, the prices were reasonable and every time I visited the baristas were very nice. I discovered and fell in love with one of their speciality drinks- the Medici. It was described to me as a mocha but with a twist of orange. Super delicious. The also offer various pastries, non coffee options and they have several alternate milks such as oat, almond and hemp. read more

We stayed in the Capital Hill district and wanted an early morning bite. We checked out Ladro coffee and had a pumpkin bread and latte but they offer a variety of coffee and espresso drinks. The area seemed a bit dodgey with a few homeless people coming in and out but they weren't a nuisance. It's a cosy, divey, hipster coffee shop oh and free WiFi is a huge plus! read more

It's a fine LITTLE coffee spot with cute pastries. But I wouldn't go out of my way to find it. If your hotel is right on the corner, it's a easy little spot to stop by. Not as much charm or food as most of them. Yelped breakfast in my area and was disappointed to see that it was only pastries that they didn't heat and 2 quiches. Lots of other places in the immediate area to check out first. Good banana bread and matcha is on the weaker side. read more

Convenient location, less than a block away from the Grand Hyatt in downtown. Yes, there is a Starbucks inside the Hyatt. This place is WAY better. The small-er coffee shop has a hipster/industrial vibe to it. They don't have a lot in the way way of pastries/breakfast itms, but what it lacks in food, it makes up in ambience, good customer service and great coffee. The banana bread is delish too. read more

I had a great experience here early on a Saturday morning. THere was only one person working and he provided expert service to the short line, acknowledging everyone when they came in and saying "he'd be with you shortly." We had one of each, a raspberry scone and bacon quiche. It has excellent LOCAL baked goods, rotating inspired sandwich selections, seasonal single origin options and a commitment to service and quality that is unmatched. When other shops are closed due to snow, 15th is open on time and serving it up. Every holiday I order up pies from here and they SELL OUT. I come here, say, just about every day, due to the immediate vicinity of my workplace, and the fact, hey, that they make totally amazing coffee! I have to say that the bariste here nail my triple wet cappucino here every single time, I don't even have to order any more, it just shows up almost the moment I walk in the door. Kinda nice having that sort of thing right next to you.... warning... also extremely addictive. I think I'm up to an average of 6 shots a day now that I've weaned myself a bit... yikes!!! But seriously, I love the people and the coffee here. I actually see people coming into town on vacation and they ask where the Starbucks is! Did you try any corner? Or perhaps between two corners! Between my ears if I'd let them! My socks!! I also think it's great that Ladro encourages the Fair Trade movement and are committed as a company to making it the standard. People work so hard to provide us with the coffee we enjoy, and it's truly backbreaking work. They deserve a fair wage, don't they? Plus, as we purchase Fair Trade products, the farmers learn how to grow the best possible product to get the best price for their hard work, everyone comes out ahead! The Cafe Ladro in the Astra could improve service. On a busy morning, I placed a mobile order to save on my limited time. They don't make mobile orders until you ARRIVE!!! like no other coffee shops I've ever experienced. They told me it was to ensure my coffee was warm when I arrived. Here's another idea...don't be paternalistic. It has a pick up time and we are all adults. Make the damn coffee. I'll be responsible for myself. Trust me as much as Starbucks trusts me. Sought out a Caffe Ladro near our hotel since I heard from a friend and local that they served great coffee. Indeed they do! My almond latte was excellent. The service: not so much. With so many great coffee shops in Seattle, this is not one I would recommend. For starters, I don't think the coffee was very good. I got a mocha and it had pretty dull flavors. The service was definitely lacking - baristas were not friendly and seemed annoyed I was there. There was no line and my above average priced mocha was rushed and hastily prepared. Not that it's a huge deal, but they didn't even take the time to attempt some latte art. Literally was still pouring into the cup while passing across the counter to me. The barista last Sunday afternoon was on point: taking and making orders, bantering with customers, giving a lady the bathroom key before she even realized she needed it, etc. I just felt bad that he was there by himself and let's just say I had plenty of time in line to think about what I wanted to order.
