I needed a place to get a bit of work done and stumbled across Cafe Umbria. It was a great spot with lots of windows. I did find that there was a weird smell which shortened my time there, but I don't notice any other reviews mentioning this so it was likely a temporary situation. The matcha itself was good and I loved that they threw in the little chocolate on the side. The seating was also relatively comfy with easy access to outlets and solid WiFi.

Caffe umbria is such a beautiful coffee shop in pioneer square and close to lots of shopping! I can see it being a nice place to chat with a friend or get work done. There's plenty of seating and the space feels really airy and is filled with light. I ordered a medium honey oat latte ($7.17) and thought it was just okay! I didn't taste much of either flavor, but it was still good as just a latte. My friend got a matcha latte and also commented that it was lacking a matcha taste. I will say we came about 20 minutes before closing so there was no wait for our drinks! They close at 4 Saturdays which seems to be later than other cafes in the area.

Caffe Umbria is a really cute spot with a lively environment. The food was fresh and had tons of flavor. The coffee was also incredible. There was a bit of a wait on the weekend but the food was worth it. Would highly recommend.

What a fantastic coffee shop in downtown Seattle!! Thank you fellow yelpers for the tips in the reviews. So good. Espresso was absolutely perfect. Americano was excellent. Friendly personable service!!! For the coffee lovers out there try this place!

I've been a longtime fan of Caffe Umbria. I came by yesterday and enjoyed a Cardamon Maple Latte with Almond Milk-highly recommend! They are conveniently located across from pacific place, and they are a comfortable and relaxed place to spend time.

Drink: 4/10 (latte) Food: 10/10 (Veggie Croissant) Atmosphere: Comfy Service: Good Let's start with the good on this one. The veggie croissant sandwich was absolutely delicious. This sandwich had a good blend vegetable, egg and cheese which led to demolishing it and craving more. Unfortunately no matter how good the sandwich was, the coffee was my main objective for this trip and ended in a major disappointment. I've always heard great things about the Cafe Umbria roasters and was very excited to try it. The first red flag was how fast the latte was served, and this was then confirmed by the sour taste of the coffee. The steamed milk I think helped mask the quick pull a bit but not enough to warrant a better rating. I'm sure a syrup based drink would have been delicious, and will most likely be what I try on my next visit. The lack of latte art also leads me to believe little effort went into steaming and pouring the milk. This being a cafe, I expected better. Although I only give this visit a 2, I do think the issue was with the pull or calibration of the shot pull and still have high hopes for the Cafe Umbria roasters.

A small and nice coffee shop with good seasonal drinks and tasty pastries! The drinks and pastries tend to be a bit sweeter than the other cafes in the area. Also, the pastries run out fairly quickly. I've only visited after noon and every time they only have a few cookies left. I really enjoyed the seasonal drinks. The cardamom maple latte had a really strong cardamom flavor which paired well with the slightly bitter coffee and creamy milk. The caffe al pepe had a nice floral note from the pepper and left a slight warmth with all the spices. As for the pastries, I've mostly only tried the shortbreads since that's basically all they have left when I arrive, but they're pretty good. They're crispy and buttery and a really nice snack to eat with a warm cup of coffee. I also like that they're not plain, they're filled with either jam or chocolate hazelnut spread.

Cute little cafe tucked away in the "Denny Triangle." Not at all what I expected, but in a good way! The only reason for 4-star instead of 5-star rating is because the prices are $$$. Fast and friendly service from an Italian barista added to the full experience of this Italian themed cafe. Also, there were several customers sitting down enjoying coffee while having conversations in Italian. Great ambiance. There were also two customers "working" although for me it seemed a bit loud and distracting to get any work done. I had a large Nutelinna (latte with Nutella) which was delicious!

I had a weeklong conference at the nearby Convention Center and I made sure to stop by in the morning for an Americano before attending my seminars. My wife declared Caffe Umbria and their coffee beans as her favorite. She has found her go-to coffee beans. One of the notable blend is the Leone. It's a light roast with complement notes of apricot, huckleberry, vanilla and brown sugar. It's got a earthy flavor to it, which I really enjoy. The next blend on our list is the Arco Etrusco -- I'm curious about the smokey and roasty taste. This is extra information. Le Painer, a well-known pastry shop at the Market, serves Umbra coffee along with their pastries. Give it a try.

Yummiest coffee creations ever! I tried the Lavender Latte ($5.25 for small) and my friends had the Honey Oat Latte and iced Mocha. They had a delicious granita in the frozen drink mixer that was off-menu, we were given a taste. It was like coffee ice cream, yum! What a treat!

+++++++ D R I N K S +++++++ [+] CORTADO My husband was not impressed lol. More Italian style if that's what you are looking for! The cortado comes with a piece of chocolate which was tasty! [+] NON CAFFEINATED OPTIONS I was a little disappointed in the limited options of coffee alternatives. Limited non-caffeinated choices makes me sad. They had a lavendar latte and a honey oat latte and a tumeric latte, but none of them seemed that appealing. [+] COFFEE BEANS They mostly had blends, few to no single origin beans. Sad. +++++++ S E R V I C E +++++++ The service was okay, she answered my questions. If you didn't know Bicerin is a drink that consists of two shots of espresso, chocolate, milk, and whipped cream! Two shots is a lot! There was a fly that landed on a pastry and I was not down for that. ++++++ A M B I A N C E +++++ It has several tables mostly for two, some of the tables have cute tiles on the corners. There were also 2-3 outdoor tables, too. It was pretty empty though. One cool thing is that the menu is projected on a huge wooden board. Pretty cool. +++++ O V E R A L L +++++ It was OKAY. Nice to try since I see their beans everywhere, but probably won't come back. I would go across the street to Anchorhead instead lol.

Super cute little coffee shop. Very mellow vibes. Only has a few seats to mingle/study. I was able to grab a table to do some work while I was here. The staff was very friendly and helpful! It was only him and boy when it got busy he was killing it! He was very calm and collective and was taking and making orders left and right! I was very impressed by him being alone and providing such great service! I ended up getting a matcha latte- it was very creamy. I liked that the matcha wasn't over powering. I also got a blueberry scone. It was pretty good I couldn't stop eating it. Overall cute little coffee shop in the middle of downtown Seattle. If you're lucky enough to get a spot it's a good place to study or just get things done in your own little space.

What a wonderful little coffee shop!! I stopped in here one day before heading to work. I ordered an espresso shot and a breakfast sandwich/panini. The person that took my order was very kind and I felt like the only customer in the shop while ordering - they took great care in hospitality. My espresso was delicious - smooth but slightly acidic. The breakfast panini was really good - it definitely beet the usual Starbucks sandwich and kept me full all morning.

They clearly care about their image as they offer a free mug for first-time customers with an email sign-up. The drinks here are ok, but they average between $8-$10 each. I think the pricing is just much too high. You're paying for the vibes, not for a great cup of coffee. The matcha we tried was mediocre. There are so many other great places for coffee in Seattle, for just a fraction of the price. I think Storyville is preying on tourists visiting the market. They probably have to charge that much to keep the 8 employees milling about behind the counter employed. The space does have lots of seating, but it was nearly full during our early afternoon visit. Save your money, find another great local coffee spot!

This was on a Sunday afternoon close to 5pm, and there were still so many people occupying nearly every seat inside. It has matcha and house banana puree, both of which work well together. The tiny layer of house banana puree has all the flavor, especially when you mix the whole drink together. Very refreshing, and their ceremonial matcha's grassy tones still came out despite the banana puree being just as strong in the drink. I also bought a bag of their Morning Sun coffee beans as a souvenir, and the cashier mentioned how it was one of her favorite blends to drink and gift! That reassured me about blind buying. My matcha latte was pretty good. It had an added earthiness from the brown sugar syrup. Though it wasn't as green as the matcha lattes I'm used to drinking back in SoCal, it wasn't bad! However, I think I would skip the gruyere pull apart pastry next time. I usually don't mind gruyere in savory pastries, but this one was especially greasy.
