Accidentally found this spot on the way to Captain Cook. Needed coffee but there was no signal on phones to find anything, thankfully theyre in a busy area so when I saw traffic lights and passed a McDonalds I figured coffee would be somewhere nearby. Saw the "Coffee House" sign and blew a sigh of relief. Tiny little parking lot up front, I imagine there must be more on the side somewhere. The service was really friendly and helped make recommendations, and after ordering was when I saw how spectacular the view was. I wish I had more time, there was a little seating both inside and outside. Ordered my usual americano and the wife got a tea that she really enjoyed. The girls demolished their smoothie and the cherry tart and apple turnover were perfectly flaky and delicious. Easy 5 stars. We'll be back. read more

A cute little place, feels more like visiting a home than it does a commercial space, but with the reliability of a cafe. I had a salmon Benedict and an iced coffee. Staff were kind as well, and helped me decide what to eat. Salmon tasted fresh and delicious, easy to eat. The balcony was roomy, with many gecko sightings. read more

Nice little cafe with great Kona coffee selections, baked goodies, and sandwiches. There is an indoor dining room and patio tables out on a lanai overlooking the mountain and the ocean off in the distance. Nice for those who want a great view. Staff is nice. Rest room was out of order, which can make it tough as it's a coffee place lol. No big meals to be had here, but good for a light breakfast or lunch or to pick up some sweet treats and coffee, chais, lattes. read more

There's not a lot of parking in front of the restaurant. If you decide to come here, you can look forward to a fabulous coffee, drink, serene view on the deck, and any of the pastries... Will make your morning fantastic. I have to say, however, don't order the food. The lox bagel isn't a thrill. There's very little cream cheese and it's impossible to eat without losing half of your capers. What would be a better sandwich if they added more cream cheese and put the two sides together rather than serving them separately on the plate. My husband ordered the ham and cheese Panini and it was pretty boring. Nothing I couldn't make in my own kitchen. read more

We stopped here for our first breakfast on the island. The service was excellent and so was the food! It's a lovely family owned place and and they're great at it. We enjoyed the Kona coffee that they grind themselves Mouth watering baked goods. We had wonderful breakfast sandwiches served with papaya and orange garnishes. My fave is the Italian Almond cake. Their coconut mocha iced coffee was delicious and the Florian Egger was simple yet flavorful. I came here because of the good reviews, and they weren't lying. The terrace seating is a really nice touch. Coffee and a view of the ocean. Very serene. The young woman who took my order was polite and brought out my drink and food quickly. It was our last morning on the big island and we needed a good breakfast and Caffee Florian popped up on Yelp as a nearby option with great reviews so we decided to check it out. Finding it was easy and there was parking right in front of the building. This cafe was super cute and had a lot of charm about it, a plus was we were able to sit on the patio deck after ordering and enjoy the views of the ocean and nature around. We even got so lucky as to see a few cute geckos which the kids loved seeing and trying to catch. Now for the service the two women working the front were super sweet. They had alot of different pastries to pick from as well as a make to order menu. My 3 kids went with an Italian soda, hot chocolate and a vanilla steamer, the adults had an iced vanilla latte and a chai. For food we ordered lox and bagel, a turkey and provolone panani, a yogurt parfait and then we got some sweet treats from the cream puff, to brownie, lillikoi bar, and a peanut butter bar( which was a huge Reeses). Everything tasted amazing my personal favs were the lox bagel and the lillikoi bar. If you're ever in the area and on the look out for a great cafe this is the spot to stop at. read more

Arrived at this adorable cafe just as they closed (2pm on weekdays) but they were still kind enough to have our order for coffee or pastries. What a dreamy view from the outdoor patio, I wish I could've spent a view hours out there! I was there recently and needed to kill a little bit of time while my spouse did some shopping elsewhere. I didn't really want food having recently had a meal. The door sign said "no rest rooms" to which I asked if I buy a coffee can I use the rest room? I didn't get a yes answer but got a very garbled, ambiguous message. I asked again - same thing. It didn't help that the barista was fully masked and could not speak well through her mask. Regardless, there was no aloha feeling whatsoever! The coffee was good. So was the view. A friendly gecko that climbed all over my arm had the aloha that the employees lacked. read more

A very quaint little breakfast place which I wish we discovered at the beginning of our Hawaii trip! The breakfast was fresh and intimate. I would recommend getting their Veggie Egger or their Veggie sandwich - both are delicious and pretty filling. Their pastries tasted fresh and are so so good. There's also a great range of coffee drinks and smoothies. If you sit on the outside patio, you can get a great view of the ocean, but there is limited seating. The prices are a little higher than what I would like to spend but I think the view with breakfast was worth it. And I think it would be the perfect stop on the way to Captain Cook from Kailua-Kona, highly recommend! read more

Such a cute little place! I came in early one weekday morning some time ago; I had intended just to grab a coffee but there was a credit card minimum (I think it might've been $5? I can't quite remember) - the staff was super nice and went through the motions with me 1) trying to increase my coffee size so I could meet the minimum, 2) when increasing the coffee size didn't quite cut it, made a suggestion on the guava pastry when I started looking at the pastry options, 3) decreasing my coffee size once I'd picked the guava pastry. Needless to say, friendly and very patient service. I snagged a spot on the balcony with a beautiful view and enjoyed my coffee there. The pastry itself was flaky and sweet. If there's no parking out front, you can always park in the public parking lot next door. So glad I found this place and will definitely be back the next time I'm in Hawaii! read more

This is a lovely little spot, and for a Saturday glad did not have to wait in longer lines at other places...I have to say breakfast was not horrible, because it's Hawaii and the view is gorgeous but, I will say I believe there eggs and items to all be microwaved, in which I am not happy about, it is not hard to cook fresh eggs, I would have went to McDonald's, not that I mind an egg McMuffin every now and again. It was an expensive breakfast for what they made, microwave breakfast sandwiches. Was excited to try this place - seats open at table outside with a view - bummed to have been told by the employees here that the only seats available were outside facing the road. Bummer Asked if they could call the owner before we ordered - the workers appeared to be young did not know how to call the owner, which makes me not trust the place when there is an issue with food or anything - thought we'd eat at a place up the road so we could trust who is handling any issues with food that require an escalation above what the employees can do. We had a legitimate service dog and these employees should probably be better trained to call the manager for more educative training or instructions read more

I recently went for breakfast with a friend . I had heard positive reviews in the community about their friendly staff, & I found it to be absolutely true !. The food (I had the quiche ) and the coffee were delicious !. The service is timely , professional & courteous . I think I heard this restaurant is owned by sisters who may have served us . If so , pls know you are doing a great job for the Kona Mauka community ! (Yes , it's great for anyone , not just Mauka ). I recommend highly , and like me , you will be pleasantly surprised at this "little" cafe ! . Little in size , but large in aloha , good food & ambience. read more

A sweet find along the highway. The parking "lot" is tricky to get into/out of but it's worth it! There were lots of good options on the menu and the barista saw me struggling. She was quick to offer suggestions, customer favorites, and her personal favorite. I got the artichoke and cheese panini and an iced macadamia nut latte. The two items ran me just under $20 which is more than I'd like to spend, but the cafe had its perks. There's free WiFi, personal bathroom (bonus: I witnessed the barista wash the bathroom key after every customer returned it. I love that! Very clean and health-conscious), lanai outside with five tables (~16 seats) and fantastic service. The panini was perfectly pressed and tasted so good! I'm not the biggest fan of artichoke but decided to give this a try as it's a customer fav. When done right (like this panini), results are delicious. Also, the drinks are pricey but it's 100% local Kona coffee. Overall, I like this spot as a "special occasion" cafe. I wouldn't come here regularly, since I don't think my wallet can take that, but it's a nice place to come if you have special lunch/coffee plans or if you have time to kill in between running errands/going to the doctor/etc in the area. read more
