Needed a place to come and study. The service is absolutely amazing and the food was great! My friend had the Portobello sandwich and she said it was one of the best sandwiches she's had. In my case my Teriyaki sandwich was good, but the meat to bread ratio wasn't great, especially considered the price is above $8. I got the Mango Passion and I just didn't love it. My friend loved her mocha and she keeps raving about it. Overall great place to study and the wifi is crazy good. I stopped by this really cute coffee shop on my way to work to treat myself for getting a new job. Like many others I got the lavender vanilla latte, with only 1 pump of vanilla instead of two because I like my drinks on the less sweet side. It had a nice balance and I thoroughly enjoyed my coffee. I also ordered an avocado toast which was like multigrain bread, avocado, and sliced hard boiled eggs on top with salt and pepper. It was like any other basic toast but I was feeling the treat haha. Overall really liked the quality of coffee and food. Total was just under $15 (around $4.50 for coffee and $9 for toast). This cafe has lots of space inside to sit and eat or do work while sipping coffee. I have tried two of the cakes, and so far the earl grey is my favorite. My friend and I always come here because the food is always good. Today we came, we found a piece of hair in our sandwich, so I went to go tell them, the worker (orange/ginger hair) told me "I can't do anything about it" since we ate half of the sandwich but the other half wasn't touch (it was cut in half) and we found hair. I first went to Caffe Bene in SoCal and was so excited when I found out they opened one here! It is my favorite place to do homework. I've spent countless hours here glued to my MacBook and listening to music. They have new drinks rolling out frequently and the ones they always have are pretty good too. I've had the taro milk tea, strawberry mojito, bb detox tea, chocolate and vanilla frappes, and strawberrynana smoothie. None of them have disappointed. although the interior and the location are perfect, other aspects need improvement. i've been here a couple times but this will be the last time. the iced matcha had many big chunky clumps on the bottom. when asked, the worker explained that the way they blend it the matcha always turns out like this. i have never had matcha with clumps in it. for the exorbitant price you pay here i would expect my matcha not to have powder in it. also the wifi is always really slow. read more

All the cakes here looks great, but if you like very sweet cake it would be your cup of tea. We got 4 different cake slices and I think the best one was the tiramisu. The cold brew had a bit of an strong aftertaste. The mango and strawberry mojitos were a bit too sweet not sure if you could adjust it. Toward the end of the drink 1/3 left it was more diluted by the ice so I think it tasted a bit better. The lychee drink was a bit sour. read more

This place was cute and the service was nice, but that's about where the good things end. We got the hot and ices red velvet latte, which all they do it add red velvet cake mix from a bag. If you're going for a hot chocolate the hot one is delicious, but it didn't taste much like a latte and im not 100% sure there was espresso. The iced one was chunky and neither of us were impressed. The Tiramisu was HORRIBLE. The cream layers were decent coffee hinted cream, but the cake laters were wet (moist isn't really accurate to describe it) and chunky with an aggressive bitter taste. It was beautiful to look at, but we both like tiramisu and quit after only 2 bites it was so bad. A complete waste of $10. Not sure how you can charge $10 for something that tastes so bad. This is a great place to go to study! There are tons of 2 person and 4 person tables to choose from, a longer community table, and some bar seating as well. Plugs line the wall so you can keep your laptop going. Large windows in half of the seating area makes for great lighting and people watching during the day, and then really pretty ambiance in the evening. The selection of drinks is good and I'm a sucker for their lavender latte. The "for here" drinks come in mugs which makes for some very aesthetically pleasing study/work time. The music isn't overbearing which I really appreciate, and it's not as busy as a Starbucks would be so the noise level is really nice. The food is more towards the desert and sandwhich side rather than traditional pastries. I love coming here to study and used to work just down the street so it was a great little escape. Definitely want to go back soon and just enjoy the nice ambience and coffee with a good book. read more

The "Caffe Bene Egg Toast" was like something you make at home: egg + bacon + a piece of sliced toast. The "Strawberry Cream Cheese" Honey Bread was satisfyingly thick but was saccharinely sweet. The "Spicy Chicken" sandwich was somewhere in the middle, not bad, but nothing special. Came here on Sunday during brunch time. I ordered: 1. Lavender vanilla latte ($5.25). I couldn't taste the lavender on my latte, I read other reviewers that some might like it since the lavender taste is not that strong, however, it's not strong enough for my taste. 2. Avocado toast ($8.45). I've had better avocado toast than this. This is also why I'm only giving a three stars review. For a dish that costed me almost $9, I expect more avocado on the plate. So they used wheat bread, with avocado spread, not sliced avocado, then on each toast, they put 4 - 5 slices of boiled eggs. Then, they put 1/2 cup of green salad, and half cut of fresh strawberry. Again, I've had better avocado toast that serves more portion than this. Quite disappointed. 3. We ordered two cakes from this cafe. Strawberry shortcake and classic chocolate. They bought their cakes from Satura Cakes in Los Altos. A bit pricey for a piece of cake. 4. Service and Parking. Parking is inside the parking structure, joined with apartment building. They have numbered parking spot, but you could actually park there. They don't belong to the apartment building parking spot. Service is a bit lacking. I've been to the Caffe Bene in Asia and I was surprised they opened one in SJ! Out of my curiosity, I've decided to give it a try. I came and ordered a Portabella Sandwiches which costs around $8. The sandwiches taste pretty good with cheese and I was able to finish it. My friends ordered Chocolate Ice Cream Belgian Waffle and Strawberry Waffle with whipped cream. They told me it was great as well. The food might take around 10-15mins. You have to go pick up your food -- it's a self-service restaurant. The price of the food was typically average/ within that range and not overprice. There are plenty of available seats and tables available during the weekdays. It might be a good study spot too with FREE WIFI. There's a parking lot too in case you're worried about the parking. I'll definitely come back again to try other food. read more
