This is current the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to. To start we had a Cesar salad that they let us split and it was still plenty for each of us. My wife and I shared the tortellini Tatiana and the veal scaloppine. The tortellini had the perfect mix of cheese and fruit that made it rich and sweet. The veal was cut super thin so it melted in your mouth and the sauce on it was so amazing I had to soak the rest up with my bread. We also had the lava cake for desert which was delicious but as expected. Overall the real star was the service. I've never had a wait staff work so hard to give us the perfect night. read more

I found this little gem by accident while dining across the street at Ruth Chris. We were sat promptly and greeted immediately. The service is fast, food is good but menu limited. The orders came out quickly and we never had to wait for refills. I will def go again, the tiramisu was amazing. We went on a Saturday at 9:30pm. read more

I LOVE CAFE ABRACCI. I first visited Cafe Abracci on the recommendation of the concierge of the Mariott hotel when I was staying in Coral Gables. My parents and I were just looking for a decent Italian meal but instead we found a wonderful hidden gem in Coral Gables. I have since moved to Coral Gables, and now frequent the restaurant often. First of all, the service is wonderful. Everyone has only ever been friendly and accommodating, happy to make any changes to the menu, not that it needs any. Most importantly, however, is the food, which is PHENOMENAL. All of their pasta is fresh and handmade, and you can tell. I have tried several of the dishes over the course of my visits, and while they have all been delicious, my personal favorite is the tortellini tatiana, which is a tortellini in pink sauce stuffed with asiago and pear. It is sooo goood, one of my favorite pasta dishes I've ever eaten. I always start with the caesar salad, which is also wonderful. Again with the dessert menu, I've tried several, all have been wonderful, though again I have a favorite, which is the Zabaione with fresh berries in a caramelized bowl. Basically, to sum it up, anything you get on the menu will be awesome. Definitely check out Abracci, you won't regret it. read more

Would rate a 4.5/5 if Yelp would let me! Came to this establishment for a business dinner with some of our clients and we had a blast! They have great wines, a full bar, and AMAZING food! We had tuna tar tar and beef capriccio as appetizers and I had an amazing 14 oz sirloin steak with sautéed mushrooms on top and french fries on the side. The food was amazing and the wine selection was very large. One thing I will say is that since everyone knows the food is amazing here; the restaurant was jam packed. I believe this to be the culprit for the slow service so I won't complain too much about that because I understand there were a lot of people to deal with. All around was a nice night filled with great food. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is a foodie like me! read more

We used to dine here all the time. So when someone said lets go there again, I was excited. I was a little disappointed overall as I agree the food and service isn't like it used to be. They've updated the decor, gotten rid of the red walls since I was last there. In a way I think its lost a little character now. It had that old gentlemen's club feel with the red walls. Now it feels like it can be any restaurant, with its white walls and beautiful glass art. The service wasn't perfect, servers were reaching in front of me to get to the person next to me. Instead of going behind me and reaching between us. They also forgot to bring my second cocktail order. Others at the table felt rushed by the waiters, this type of restaurant people shouldn't feel rushed. As for the food, I agree the Caesar Salad is delicious. All four desserts we ordered were great. If only the entrees were as good. The main entrees were just ok. I had the Chicken Breast with vegetables and potatoes. The huge chicken breast was smothered in wine sauce, and what they consider "potatoes" is one thinly sliced piece of a potato. For the price there are better Italian restaurants in South Florida. read more

You can never go wrong if you need a place that will impress the pickiest. Absolute great food and service.

I have been going to Cafe Abbracci for the past 20 years (my parents started taking me when I was a little girl) so I might be biased because I practically live there! It is rare that a week passes that I don't stop by for lunch or dinner! Service: Incomparable! In fairness though,as I said before, I have been going practically my whole life so they know me very well...however, they are known for their service! The staff remembers everything! Food:Their beef carpaccio is unreal! I highly highly recommend it. The entrees are all great (mushroom risottto, yum!). For dessert you can not go wrong with the berries or profiteroles and a glass of port. Two thumbs up! read more

This is what I call a classic Italian Miami restaurant. I am fan and a frequent eater. You can't go wrong with any pat or entree. It's always good. When I don't eat pasta, I love the Veal or Branzino. The owner used to run this place hands on. Staff is pretty nice. read more

I have an Italian Refined taste. I have spent most of my life in Italy. Caffe' Abbracci is the only real Italian restaurant in Miami. I love this restaurant is my top favorite Italian restaurant.I have tried Italian food in other restaurants around Miami and to be honest this restaurant is the best italian food I ever had.I love their pasta, cocktails and of course their desserts and they make an awesome cappuccino. They have great service and they have complimentary breadsticks and fresh warm bread. My two favorite dishes are the beef carpaccio and the lobster ravioli dish.I highly recommend this place! read more

A coworker of mine grew up in this neighborhood and suggested we check out Caffe Abbracci for our dinner this week. It definitely has that traditional, old school Italian vibe to the restaurant with professional service and a classic menu. We shared the calamari and zucchini to start - great way to kick off our meal as it wasn't overbreaded or overfried. I enjoyed a caesar salad, the penne with vodka (simply amazing) and the chocolate raspberry mousse (beautifully presented and equally delicious). All in all, a great dining experience! read more

Excellent and authentic Italian food. Their beef lasagna is the best I have ever eaten (and the price is super right: $14.95) but only available at lunch time. Our party (of 5) had salmon, branzino, gluten-free pasta, lasagna and veal, and all the dishes were tasty and fresh, lunch main dishes include salad or a cup of soup of the day. The service is outstanding. The place is very popular so reservation is always recommended. read more

this place is for you if: 1 - you like italian food 2 - you are someone important or someone who likes to think they are important 3 - a woman looking for a sugar daddy we had our office christmas lunch at abbracci - a coral gables staple - a be seen scene. literally people focus more on who is walking in and out and who they can say hi to more than on the food or their own dining companions. most diners are 50+ men (with money, or at least they appear to have money) who gawk at every woman that passes them by. the staff makes everyone feel important by greeting and hugging everyone when in reality you can tell they dont even really know each other. but the staff knows that people who like this scene like to feel important and making them feel that way, will keep them coming back. great recipe for success!! (im being serious) so we had reservations and were seated over half an hour late. we just cozied up by the bar and ordered a round. half of us never got our drinks though, they were slammed. once seated i went to take a drink of my freshly filled water glass, but i had to ask for a new one bc it smelled like "trapo sucio" (translation, dirty cleaning rag) the menu is pretty basic and pretty expensive. the salad was just ok, the dressing was light. i opted for beef tortellini with a tomato sauce, it was good, but nothing to write home about. the veal was surprisingly my favorite. and the calamari and zucchini was also very good. the profiteroles, tiramisu, and tartufo were all very delicious desserts!! overall i wont be rushing back to abbracci. im really not that important, and im definitely not interested in old men. read more

Best Italian dining in Coral Gables. For over 20 years, I have been dining at Abbracci and compliment their ability to consistently deliver a winning product. Personal service and pleasant atmosphere make for an enjoyable experience. read more

Horrible service. The staff seemed annoyed. Our plates and napkins were being thrown on our table. Selective menu, because of Valentine's Day. It would've been nice if we were informed about the selective menu once we made the reservation. We ordered a few things including a bottle of white wine, it disappeared. I've never been to a restaurant that doesn't place a bottle of white wine on ice near or on your table. The fettuccine Alfredo, was bland and extremely dried out. Salmon carpaccio was ok. In my opinion the selective menu was extremely boring. Nothing really caught my eye. To top it off, we kept flagging our waiter down to get our bottle of wine, our condiments, our bill.. etc. read more

From one Italian, to any Yelpers out there... this place is where I go for that reminds-me-of-grandma Italian food. Simple appetizers like prosciutto and perfectly-dressed insalata mista make for the perfect intro to a perfect bowl of pasta. The Amatriciana sauce (a red sauce with an onion and pancetta base) is my personal favorite! But even if you can't find your perfect dish on the menu, Cafe Abbracci promises to make you any combination of pasta and sauce of your choice. Homestyle Italian and warm, welcoming service... this is just a feel-good kinda place. read more

This is an authentic Italian restaurant and exceeded expectations. My father was especially impressed with this restaurant's fruit de maire and my family had a great time. This is a place to save for special occasions due to the price point and we frequently saw people celebrating their graduation there. I was very impressed and would love to visit again. read more

Very good italian eatery. We are spoiled living in St. Louis. We have great italian restaurants and this would rate as above average on the hill. We had the tuna app, capresee salad, mussels, and scallops. All were very good but not great. For dinner we had the red snapper, veal milenese, and two pasta dishes and all were well prepared and tasted very good I owuld recommnend this place but not if your home city has great Italian. read more

You are always going to have a wonderful dining experience at Abbracci. The service was prompt . Great wine list. The food and its presentation was first rate. The snapper in parchment is my favorite. My partner raved about her vegetarian dish. And you can't go wrong with any veal dish. My only knock is the bread..the rolls are really just ordinary , but the silver lining is that you don't fill up on them . read more

I came in here last night with my partner to celebrate an anniversary and I have to say I was NOT HAPPY AT ALL. First of all, our waiter didn't speak any English so I had to translate everything last night. Well, I guess it wasn't that bad since he BARELY came to our table. So we ordered our wine, then our appetizers. The wine was a bad idea! Since the staff consist of only men they would constantly come to our table and pour our wine. How nice right?! WRONG. I overheard a couple waiters talking about my partner and I, and I did not feel too comfortable.I felt like I was in a MEAT MARKET!!!!! Appetizer hits the table and it is DELICIOUS. Though, our waiter didn't come back to check on us. I needed a couple of things but he was nowhere to be found. Our waiter then proceeded to take our food order, I ordered the Red Snapper. Now, I have been in the business for 3 years and when I ordered a snapper he just said OK. Hmm, I was the one that had to ask what side it came with and then he said "Well you get to choose one." So if I didn't ask what would I have gotten? The food WAS AMAZING. I will give it that. As a special little something, when dinner was over the brought out a dessert with a candle which I thought was sweet. The dessert was delicious until we found FRUIT FLIES INSIDE the dessert. I immediately brought it to our waiter's attention and he apologized and took it back. The manager never came to the table to apologize, NOTHING. We got our check and left. I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS ESTBLISHMENT. That was the most awful night and it's not like they didn't know it was a special occasion. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because the food is actually really good. I ate everything! Other than that? You will never catch me here again and I will not neglect to share my experience with others here. read more

The food here is always excellent and the service is good. It's just extremely loud, and crowded.

This place was perfect! The service was great, the entire staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious! I couldn't decide between a risotto and the black lobster ravioli and when I asked the waiter for his opinion, he told me they could do half and half, which was amazing! Can't wait to go back! The only thing I didn't like is the fact that people were smoking right next to us while we were eating. read more

It's time for this restaurant to die. This was once the "IT" place in the old Gables days, but with much of its old timers aging and passing away; and with absolutely no inventive and new menu items coupled with a decor scheme that feels half golden girls, half gaudy puke fake murano, it's time to hang the hat and call it a day. If a bunch of good ole boys smoking cigars and cheap pasta is your thing, then this is your spot- as for the rest; and majority of us, stay away. Food is terrible. And of yea... they put ICE in the URINALS. Disgusting. Nothing says class like ice in a urinal. I wonder if that same scoop is used for the ice glasses.... read more

Always a wonderful experience here. The penne vodka dish is amazing, and the lava cake for dessert!

I tried their Thanksgiving $40 special for 3 courses and coffee. Service was impeccable from start to finish. Choice of pumpkin ravioli or lentil soup. Had the ravioli. Delicious! Main dish had a little of each: white tender turkey breast and a chicken leg meh, yam mashed potato, stuffing, a corn stuffing and gravy..Did not like the chicken. I didn't expect chicken as it wasn't on the menu..It would have been better with real dark meat turkey or double portion of turkey breast. Apple pie spice with vanilla ice cream was delicious..the main dish could have had more food. Espresso was awful. It tasted like instant espresso. With liquor and tip about $75pp. Will be back for Italian regular menu, not thanksgiving. Dining companion was still hungry later and won't be back for Thanksgiving either. read more

Not only is the food delicious, but the service is truly an unforgettable experience. Our waiter overheard that my friend left his glasses at home and brought a pair on a tray for him to look at the menu with. It was a simple gesture that stood out from any restaurant I have been to thus far. When the manager is in he makes his way around to each table greeting everyone. A lot of locals come to this restaurant and many have been coming here for years, that alone shows a lot about how good this restaurant is. read more

Caffe Abbracci - Black Lobster Ravioli - Italian Near Me - Coral Gables, Florida

See all

I had not been here in over a year, last time I went was with my parents. Somehow the owner still remembered me and asked how my family was doing. Anyways, I came to dinner with my girlfriend for our anniversary. Food was on point as always. The beef carpaccio and grilled goat cheese were delicious appetizers. The pasta and veal scallopini did not disappoint either. Best part was, the owner told the chef it was our anniversary so they brought out a beautiful dessert with the words "Happy Anniversary" written in a raspberry reduction around the plate. You can't beat that kind of service! read more

Old school, clubby Italian, but everyone is welcome. You can wear a jacket and tie if you like. Many folks do. But just as many wear jeans as well. Bring your wallet though. Is the food great? No. Is it pretty good? Yeah. Is the service great? No. Is it friendly, confident and old school? Yeah. Our waiter, for example, when asked whether the Branzino was good tonight answered as a joke, "The Branzino is a very good choice. Everything on the menu is good. But the service, hmmm .... maybe not so good ...." Abbracci is an institution, one of the few remaining in the Gables. On an early Thursday evening, it filled up fast, with three-generation families, middle-aged couples, business men ... anyone and everybody except the "young and happening" (unless, of course, they were there with Grandpa). Order the veal chop. Is it the best veal chop you have ever had? Probably not. Is it darn good? Yeah, but more importantly, how many of the new places rising in the Gables serve up a veal chop? This place has been here 30 years or so and may still be here 30 years from now. The young and happening spots will be gone next year, replaced by the latest next great thing. Take Grandpa here, or your kids and, once in a while, their kids too. read more

Came here recently for a work related event...Had high hopes but this place fell a little short in my opinion. I chose to valet to save myself the hassle and as I stepped out of my car I braced myself for the group of older men sitting outside as I had read in the reviews. Let's just say the looks and comments as I walked inside could have been kept to themselves. Nothing but a bunch of viejos verdes checking people out- this caused the first star to be knocked off... Still with hopes of a good dinner I proceeded to join await to see how the service and the food was. But first let me take a minute to talk about the place itself- old, dingy and incredibly outdated- could really use a little pick me up especially that roof. Looks like its about to cave in. Service was ok, despite the fact that the servers could not keep it down as our speaker struggled to keep everyone's attention. It was inconsistent. I had to ask for refills as they would skip or forget some of us, they switched the orders and for the main course they forgot to serve some of us the side dishes and just placed them on the table. This is why I took off the second star. The food? your typical Italian dishes, quite frankly they were a little outdated as well. Italian cuisine is so vast and diverse.. they could use some new things to change it up. I had the veal and a penne pasta. Nothing too exciting at all. Doubt I will be coming back here unless I know that major changes have been done. read more

This is one of those places that has been around forever, has tasty food and a pretty good date night. Their raviolis and sauces are pretty finger lickin' good (though, you should refrain, the place is a bit nicer than that ;). The problem is that the gables has plenty of places that offer this so I agree with the other reviews, they need to spruce it up and offer different price points on wine. read more

Really? 4.5 star overall? I'd say a bit overrated. Nice, formal atmosphere. The food on the other hand, not so fancy. You can definitely find this same kind of food presentation for half the cost at another local (casual) Italian restaurant. I was sorely disappointed by the presentation, especially when we were paying $20+ an entree. The food itself was good. I can't say there was anything special about it. We ordered the crab cake appetizer and a salmon vodka sauce pasta dish. Both orders were good, nothing special. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place if you're just craving Italian. But if you want semi-formal dining and "fancy priced" food of average quality, definitely come here. read more

This place is very classy. The service was excellent. I had the swordfish which was delicious. The apple tart was delicious. You gotta go..

The food is subpar, the restaurant is noisy and the waiters upsell the wine and desserts. Wines by the glass are not listed anywhere but the helpful waiter ensured that I paid $20 for a glass of red wine that was straight out of the Monty Python Australian Table Wine sketch with a bouquet like an aborigines armpit and a kick like a mule. The branzino was so drenched in butter you could barely find it. We went back to Cafe Abbrazzi because of fond memories of meals gone by but sometimes you just can't go home again. read more
