And I really do hate to write negative reviews, but there's just no way around this one. Every time I review a Tex Mex restaurant, I have to mention that the economics never cease to blow my mind. There are approximately 4 billion restaurants like this in the Greater Houston area. They all have the same menu and they are all of similar quality. Except, unfortunately, I just learned that 7 Leguas was not of similar quality with the rest. My go-to order is steak fajitas and that's what I went with here. Technically they were called ribeye fajitas on this particular menu. There was plenty of fat in these fajitas, so I do believe that they were indeed from a ribeye. The issue is that the meat was completely flavorless. It literally tasted like chewy water. It's not crazy to assume that they did not place one speck of salt on this meat before cooking it. The meat also just wasn't visually appealing at all and didn't come out smoking like fajitas usually do. Also, our server would disappear for 10+ minutes at a time, which was really frustrating. At one point, my in-laws ordered sopapillas, but then *poof* our server was gone. At one point, I had to go grab another server and just request the bill. They insisted that the sopapillas were about to come out, and then shortly after, our server re-appeared with them. Like everything else, they were a massive disappointment and tasted like they had been obviously reheated. I feel a little bad crushing the server because my wife thinks she heard him telling another table that he was brand new. So I do take that part of the experience with a grain of salt, but I will also say that even if you've never been a server a day in your life, you should know to not go into the back so long that your tables are asking if maybe you got fired or quit. Given the competition here with Tex-Mex restaurants, it's just impossible to justify coming to a place again that misses the mark so badly. This was one of the worst meals I've had in a long time.

Took three times to get it right. Grandson said his fajitas were OK. I'm not OK with an extra dollar because he ordered beef. Food is already really expensive here even a lunch menu. My daughter's rice was not Mexican rice it was just colored rice. The sauce on the enchiladas did not look right not the right color. Besides screwing up my taco the Chalupa instead of being flat was on a cup tortilla upside down when they put everything on it, it just falls off so I had basically a salad with some runny beans in it. On top of all that they overcharged my daughter's rice and two enchiladas, charged her three different charges ended up being $16 for two enchiladas and some rice. I did not realize the overcharge until I got home. Call back to speak to a manager had to call twice because he wasn't there. He really didn't seem to understand English either I'm complaining and he kept asking me if I wanted on Uber Eats. Finally got through to him that I was complaining. He said he would put in a complaint form and someone would call me. Of course that's never gonna happen. Hasn't happened yet. Then last night I was sick. Pretty sure it was from the awful runny beans. Won't be back.

I happened across Raifords at Mongos this Saturday night and was beyond skeptical. My wife and I tried the fried pickles, chipotle burger and Cattle fries. When I say I was pleasantly surprised, it's understated by how absolutely blown away I was from chef Gerald's food. It's simple but flavorful with great ingredients and powerful flavors. The burger had a great char on it and was paired with the perfect cheese. The cattle fries were my wife and my favorite. The raiford sauce was amazing and the steak was tender and juicy. I did not get my birria tacos, but I did get some delicious barbacoa tacos with some spicy sauce which is what I really wanted. I just needed some serious spice. I've eaten at this place a couple of times and I knew the food was good so I knew what I was in for. One delicious barbacoa taco in and my need for spice has been satiated. I'm continuing on more slowly this time with constant interruptions to blow my nose, and unfortunately, swat flies away. I find the flies to be most annoying. Two tacos and 4 napkins in, I am considering the more mild sauce to finish off the meal, but at the same time, ask myself why? So the last taco I ate with the mild sauce and I found it delicious. I was seeking spice and I got it but the mild sauce was more to my liking. The flies were no joke. I'm not sure what can be done about that, maybe a fan or something in their enclosure /eating area. I even killed a bee while I was eating. I wasn't deterred though I finished my entire three taco beans and rice plate. Lastly I would add that at this posting, December 2022, the road 105 is undergoing massive construction, so getting into this place is definitely tricky unless you're on this side of the road. I've eaten here before like I said so I definitely recommend. I would give a solid five stars if it weren't for the flies.
