We stopped here on a walk on a Sunday afternoon. It's a small space and was full on the inside. The staff was super sweet and efficient though. This place seemed more expensive than most but they offered generous portions. I had the panino veggie which was interesting as it was mostly greens (like a salad between sourdough) but I enjoyed it! read more

Our usual early morning walk on Saturdays put us right in the heart of Brooklyn's Prospect Park. The dogs run rampant, the Farmers Market is in full swing and the people crowd this area like a ritual. Walking back to our apartment, after this weekly adventure we happen to stop at Caffe De Martini for my Cafe Lotte, my wife's Matcha and my son's brewed coffee. We all chose a pastry out of the many they displayed, went outside, found a table and sat amongst the many people doing the same thing we were doing. This coffee shop is very popular; and for good reason - everything they have is impeccable, exceptional and picture perfect. It's now our Saturday morning stop after we're done at Prospect Park! read more

I am trying a few of my local coffee shops as a Friday afternoon treat. Popped in here by myself and although the space is small I was lucky enough to find a table. The staff were welcoming and I ordered a truffle brownie and the De Martini Nutella special. In hindsight these two items together were too much and I wish I had just ordered a plainer coffee. The coffee itself was good quality but the addition of the Nutella with such a small amount of coffee was a bit much for me. The brownie was very rich and I was only able to eat half (although I did take the other half home to eat later, it was too good to leave). All in all I think Caffe De Martini is a lovely spot and I will visit again but order something a little less rich. read more

My favorite coffee place in the city by far. I come here regularly to get coffee and work my part time job since it's super close to my gym. They have the best espresso I've been able to find in nyc and coming from Seattle I was really missing quality coffee. The staff members are super nice and very willing to chat with people, so there's a nice community vibe. The seating inside is a bit limited, but there's tons of outdoor seating and most of it is covered. They also serve food and have a variety of pastries! read more

Charming little cafe. Friendly staff. Cornetto was amazing - fresh and delicious. Chai latte was good but average. Chocotahini was flavorful with nice chocolate bits and good saltiness, but a crumbly-dry texture, maybe because it's gluten-free. Would definitely go back for the cornetto and to try other pastries. read more

De Martini may very well be the cutest shop on Vanderbilt, which is saying something. Their food is great, the coffee is fantastic, and their baked goods and pastries are surprisingly up to par considering there's no visible place where they could possibly make them. Extra points for their staff, which seems to be perennially cheerful - no small feat, considering they work in such close quarters. read more

I had an absolutely gleeful solo saturday morning here with my Maritozzo and cappuccino, both of which were positively stunning. The Maritozzo was not in the pastry display case but i asked if they had them and i was so happy to find out they did. I loved how soft the bun was and the coffee was the perfect amt of roasty. When I'm in need of re-fueling after a bike ride around Prospect Park, Caffe de Martini on Vanderbilt is always my go-to. The owners are from Italy and Colombia, and while the store is outwardly branded primarily in favor of its cappuccino and piadine offerings, I highly recommend the tapioca flour-based pan de bono, which is akin to an airier version of pao de quiejo. The arepa is also a hearty option on the menu with a generous layer of smashed avocado, but I probably prefer the coffee and light bites here over the breakfast options. read more

One of my favorite cafes in Brooklyn. They serve Italian bakery items such as cornettos, prosciutto paninis and sweets like tiramisu, cannolis and cookies. They make an excellent cappuccino and serve food till later in the day. Always fresh and good options to choose from. The place is cute and cozy but they don't have many seats. read more

While in Brooklyn of my professional travels breakfast was called upon me and Caffè De Martini heed the calling. Cafes always lure me for the baked pastries and sandwiches. Table seating is very limited but standard for a café plot setting. I am always enamored with ham and cheese croissant baked cornetti filled with provolone cheese and ham $7.50. I patiently waited approximately fifteen minutes for my order in a phlegmatic disposition of a cool air conditioned environment on a very humid June, 2023 morning. My ham and cheese croissant was very filling which is worth the wait and price. I would definitely return for the Bomboloni, an Italian donut filled with Nutella. I am also enamored with Nutella. The atmospheric setting is very quaint, cozy, charming and relaxed of an Italian café located in Brooklyn, NY. Customer service is attentive and warmly welcoming. Sales receipts are digitalized and can only be obtained via email or SMS text due to Caffè De Martini's cash registers are powered by Square as a paperless system as the world is moving to the digital age of paperless. No comment on the drinks as I did not order nor imbibe any. There is a loyalty program card where the twelfth (12th) drink is free. No business cards are available for grabs. No takeout menu as the digital age menus are on their website. read more

My Colombian girlfriend swears this is the best Pan de Bono she's had since returning from Colombia. I love to grab an iced coffee and start my day in the most beautiful Italian cafe in Brooklyn. The atmosphere is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. You truly feel like you've stepped into a cozy café in the heart of Italy. This cafe has the best staff. They are consistently friendly and welcoming, creating a warm environment that makes you want to come back again and again. Part of what makes NYC special is finding incredible food experiences packed into every neighborhood. Caffè De Martini stands out, with coffee that reminds me of my time in Tuscany. The line looks intimidating but moves quickly - I've never waited more than 5 minutes from order to cup in hand. It's a great place for conversations, and I've stayed for over two hours without any pressure to leave. This isn't the best spot for silent reading since it's compact and the music plays at a noticeable volume (though it adds to the vibe). Worth visiting before exploring the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens (especially beautiful right now in spring) or spending time in Prospect Park! read more

Authentic Italian spot on Vanderbilt where you hear customers speaking in Italian is refreshing on a lunch break on a sunny day. I got the cornetti with ham and cheese and was mind blown by how delicious this Italian version of a croissant was. It had some hints of lemon that you can taste as you bite into it. Caffe de martini is such a great coffee shop. It's one of my favorite places to go on a rainy day because they have a little heated parklet right outside that shelters you from the rain while keeping you nice and warm. This is that cafe in the romcom where you meet the love of your life. From the front entrance and the aromatic whiff of coffee beans as you walk pass this coffee, there truly is nothing more inviting from a coffee shop. Passed by here a couple times for coffee as it was within walking distance from our house. I loved my order each time --Cafe de martini. It came in a small cup, steamed milk and espresso, with a spoon that had Nutella all over it. Enjoyed my little burst of energy from the drink. read more

We popped in here for pastries and coffees but quickly switched to full breakfast when we found an open heated booth outside. I love that they served everything on real plates and cups instead of giving us to-go containers. The food was delicious, I had the signature breakfast which included a pesto omelette, side salad and focaccia. My friend who had the avocado toast commented on how perfectly it was cooked. From tasty treats to a great ambience, caffe de martini has it all. I came here on a friend's recommendation and would recommend it to others! It's quite a small space inside with about 3 tables and a three-top counter space but there are a few tables outside as well. The space was full the whole time we were there in the afternoon. The decor was gorgeous starting with the doorway flower arch outside that made the space very inviting, and a gorgeous floral mural inside. I loved the reggaeton they were playing and it was the perfect volume to hear yet still have a conversation. The cappuccino I had was good, and the cornetto (Italian croissant) was surprisingly good! I was bummed they didn't have any filled ones at 1pm but the plain one had a great hint of maybe citrus to it. I had never had an Italian croissant before so I was excited to try something different and I was very happy with it. Another plus is the location- on a bustling street with some cute shops nearby to pop into and about a 7 min walk from the Q subway. read more

It's giving true Italy feels. The minute you walk in, you feel like you're no longer in Brooklyn and somewhere in Italy! The flowers are so gorgeous around the door and in the cafe. It's a small place but has BIG energy because the decor livens up the room. I love this place and it was only my first time there! I felt moved to right this review immediately. My iced latte came to me within a minute of me placing an ordering it. I tasted it immediately. And without sweetener, wow! The coffee is so pure and rich. I'm not sure what fancy words to use to explain how great tasting the coffee is. But it is definitely one of the best coffees I've had!! I went ahead and added some simple syrup to lift it up some with a sweetener... just a dash and the simple syrup did give it that lift. I don't like too much sugar in my coffee so my order was perfect. The Apple strudel was amazing. I only wish that the slice was bigger or that I ordered more. This place is a bit on the pricer side with the iced latte being $7 and the strudel being $7. But to me, the price is worth it. True quality. I'll be back soon since I work around the corner. :) read more

What an adorable, charming cafe that makes you feel that you're abroad somewhere in Europe. I've passed this place a couple times in the evening and always admired and intrigued by their beautiful flower decor outside their door. The quality of their coffee and pastries definitely matched their outside impression: Ordered a simple, solid drip black coffee and apple strudel and wondered where they got their amazing looking and tasting pastries. The price was standard Brooklyn prices. There's a small sitting area both indoors and outdoors. For how popular this place is the sitting area isn't enough. Definitely worth checking out and enjoying Vanderbilt over some good coffee and pastries. read more

Hidden (until it wouldn't .....:) gem in Brooklyn. Tiny place with extra outdoor seating , so use the last weeks before winter is on. Whatever you will see at the window counter would be fantastic . My fav was the fantastic ricotta pistachio pie . Excellent espresso! That's not an easy task ! Highly recommended! Definitely A Destination! read more

This charming little cafe with a perfect 5 star rating is located along a busy stretch of Vanderbilt Avenue in Prospect Heights, which is part of the Open Streets program that blocks vehicular traffic to make way for outdoor dining and a casual stroll by pedestrians. It was during a stroll along this avenue that the need for a caffeinated drink struck, and Caffe de Martini's quaint exterior drew me in for an iced chai. An array of quiche, cups of chocolate mousse, black and white cookies, cannoli, and other confections gleamed up at me from their pastry cake, but I had just downed an ice cream brioche donut sandwich moments before from another spot so I couldn't stomach any more sweets-- unless you count my chai as a sweet. The chai was made to perfection and gave me the caffeine boost I needed for the rest of the afternoon. read more

Pastries and interior are sweet! This morning I was a bit disappointed by my latte as I barely had a full cup. The barista wasn't as pleasant as others have been and rushed my order. More foam than milk, not to mention it's not even 3/4 full. Not worth $6 with other cafes in the area that are serving up great service and coffee! read more

Updating my review from a few months ago. Tried this place for the second time on a windy, chilly day and now I can see why this cute little cafe gets such good press. I enjoyed a fresh, delicious cornetto and a FANTASTIC cappuccino this morning -- I was transported back to Italy! Like the adorable interior space, the owners were warm and welcoming as well. I stop by this cafe about once a week; I've tried their granola with yogurt, arepa, panino classic, avocado toast, various pastries from their pastry display, iced latte, and caffe freddo -- my favorites are the caffe freddo (a perfect iced coffee with just the right ratio of espresso to milk), panino classic, avocado toast, Nutella bomboloni, and plain cornetti. I also prefer my coffee to be strong and aromatic rather than taste like sweeteners/syrups, and Caffe de Martini gets it right! Their caffe freddo is the main reason I don't make my coffee at home everyday - I just feel like I have to get one at least once a week, as a little treat. I have not actually sat inside the cafe (since I am usually with my dog) but it is very cute inside, with paintings of flowers along the wall and a chalkboard menu. The staff is always lovely as well! Just note that they're a small shop so on a busy weekday morning it can take a bit to get your breakfast, but it's always worth the wait. read more

What a cute little caffe on vanderbilt! Small but mighty, you have hot and fresh pastries early morning and delicious coffee to go. A friend of mine got the croissant. It was flaky, crispy, warm, with a hint of orange. I got the mini biscotti and it crumbles in your mouth. Outside the caffe is a small seating area with heat lamps for those who want to stay around a little longer. read more

Established in 2018.

Since 1930, when grandfather Ettore opened his pastry workshop in the heart of Torino , in the De Martini family is handed down the culture of taste and tradition of confectionery. Passion and enthusiasm for our work are the ingredients of our family company. Over the years our company has evolved, making high quality chocolate its core business, which is expressed in the logo: a stylized "Mole" (monument symbol of Torino), lit by a moon of chocolate. Today our story is reached by a selection of roasted coffee beens for giving you a real Italian experience. A caffè is a strong shot of espresso (the term 'espresso' is rarely used in Italian coffee bar parlance). A macchiato is an espresso with a dash of steamed milk. An americano is an espresso with added hot water making for a slightly longer drink. The king of all white coffees is the revered cappuccino, an espresso topped with warm frothy milk with an optional sprinkling of chocolate.

Nice happy hour and a large chocolate drink selection I was at this unique Guatemalan (ish) restaurant a while back with one of my groups. I said "ish" because the menu has dishes from all over, ranging from sandwiches to BBQ ribs to Guatemalan and Mexican soups. It's out there, and even though not everything works that well, it's fun, and if you can't find something you want to order here, you probably shouldn't go out to restaurants. There was also live jazz music that night, which was loud but nice to listen to. Since it was happy hour, a bunch of us got drinks. I went with a maracuya margarita, which was decent; someone else had a jalapeño margarita, someone had a beer, and someone had a mojito. There were a few nice hot sauces on the table, with the red one reminding me of salsa macha as it had a smoky kick and a spicier green sauce reminiscent of ají verde. They gave us some complimentary blue corn chips and a very mild black bean dip, which was tasty enough and hard to complain about, as it was free. From the appetizers, we got the Hot Figs for $15.95, consisting of honey goat cheese, corn tortilla chips, and plum + pumpkin seeds. This was a unique and fun blend and reminded me more of something you would find in a wine bar. The mix of sweet and salty, with a bit of crunch from the seeds, was nice. This was good, and I would recommend it for a table rather than for a solo diner. There was also The Zingy Salad for $21.95, featuring zucchini spirals, yuzu, tomato, onion, cilantro, pumpkin seeds, and a jalapeño infusion. $18.95. The salad was fine with a bit of crunch and a mild spiciness. It was fine, though a bit wet, for lack of a better word. The best dishes of the night were the soups, which each had its own distinct flavor profile. My sight presence went to the Pepián for $21.95, consisting of chicken, pumpkin/sesame seeds, green tomatillo, cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, carrots, chili coban/pasta/guaque, and potato + rice. There was plenty of tender chicken inside, with the soup having a nice roasted flavor with some spice and a bit of sourness. The potatoes and rice on the bottom added more sustenance to this dish. Almost equally delicious was the Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo for a dollar more with shredded chicken, tomato, black pepper, garlic, onions, peas, chickpeas, corn, achiote, chipotle, Monterey jack cheese, and crunchy blue corn tortilla chips. By comparison, this was a bit heartier, with the melted cheese and shredded tortilla chips inside, similar to soups found in Mexican cuisine. While I also liked the mix of veggies a bit more in this one, as it added a bit more texture, I still slightly preferred the flavor of the other soup, as I usually prefer a bit more spice. The rest of the food was fine. The TPC sandwich for $19.95 with chicken, peanut butter, coconut cream, ginger, cilantro, pickled carrots, and lime was fine. For the number of ingredients, I found it a bit sweet, likely from the cream and the peanut butter mix. The bread was nice, but it also fell apart. It came with a nice side salad with a good vinaigrette. The most expensive at $24.95 were the Slow Cooked BBQ Ribs, consisting of baby back ribs with rice and beans. The ribs were almost a bit too tender as they lacked any bite, which was nice, but the sauce was a bit too generic tasting, reminding me of Sweet Baby Ray's or something similar. The rice and beans were standard. This was also OK. Next came some dessert. There was first the $12.95 Rosemary Churros served with dulce de leche & chocolate dips. While I'm not sure if it worked, the rosemary did add a unique smell and a bit of flavor, and at least it wasn't generic. The churros themselves were hot, and the sauces were standard, with my preference being the dulce de leche. I also ordered a Champurrado for $7.95, which was fine. It wasn't as thick as I expected, though perhaps the style is a bit different than the champurrados I rarely buy from Mexican street carts. The chocolate flavor was very nice, though, and I like that it wasn't too sweet. Another person got a $4 Alfajor, which I got a bite of, which was standard. This place is a bit hard to rate. The two soups were wonderful, I liked the appetizers, and I found a couple of the other dishes just OK. Overall, it was a good meal, but I'm not craving to go back. This would be the perfect 3.5, but I'll round up as that doesn't exist.
