Review just for the coffee. Beans are Carmel and chocolate flavored on the roast. Service is friendly but not warp speed fast on busy days, but overall a very good coffee shop. read more

I've stopped in Cafenated three times now, and I would consider it a overall nice cafe, however they really miss the mark on a few things: Cons: WiFi definitely is spotty at best, I ended up using my phone data Pricing is average for the area on regular drinks, unfortunately plant milk is extra. For the specialty drinks it will cost you at least 6 plus dollars. The size of the drinks, at least in the to-go cups seem small, especially given the price. Pros: The drinks are good, nothing overly special, but good quality nonetheless. There is a large seating selection and it would be very good for groups. read more

Highly recommend this new location! Drink: 3/5 - Ordered a Vietnamese Iced Coffee. (Finally! The original location ran out the 2x I went) - The drink was sweeter than I had anticipated. Only 1 cup size. Vibe: 5/5 - Visited for the first time and worked there for ~2 hours (Wi-Fi did work well!) - Very minimal, modern aesthetic. Super clean, spacious w/ many table options, and has bright natural lighting! - Enjoyed that they played tracks from Taylor Swift's "Folklore" album and Harry Styles songs, too! (Had to put my headphones on with a loud group nearby - not the cafe's fault!) Customer Service: 3/5 - Average service at the register. The employee who showed me the Wi-Fi sign was super kind! - Shoutout to staying on top of cleaning up tables (with all the visitors coming in) read more

I love working here! There's a ton of space, coffee and food options (all great), and lots of great lighting! I haven't been here since they started serving lunch and dinner so I'd be curious what the vibe is like now. read more

The interior space and seating options earn the 4 stars for this review. Big, beautiful space with lots of different types of seating. Restroom was clean. I wouldn't come back for the drink alone. I actually didn't finish it - it was quite subpar for an iced vanilla latte. It tasted milky and the espresso just wasn't there. I looked at my receipt later and was surprised that it totaled $7 for the latte alone, not including the tip or Berkeley local fee. I'd still come to support the business but I do hope they read the reviews and re evaluate their espresso pulling techniques and recipes. read more

Cafenated Coffee - Iced vanilla latte ($7) and big dining table - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Berkeley, California

After 30 years coming here for coffee, I'm not coming back again. Coffee is drinkable , but 30% more expensive. Same for the small selection of sugary pastries. Wi-Fi is terrible, access limited to two hours, after which you are banned for 12 hours. Staff is not helpful, nor knowledgeable. Sorry to see a neighborhood institution under poor management. read more

Came here for an ice coffee NEVER AGAIN... the service provided was out right disgusting, unprofessional, and down right rude. Before paying I noticed the amount and thought there may have been some error seeing that I was being charged $9 for a 16oz ice coffee. The cashier acted as though I didn't have a right to ask questions based on the menu pricing. I was going to let it go and just get the coffee until she stated to me rude and aggressively that "I didn't have to take the coffee as she grabbed it from the counter. I have never received such horrible service I will never frequent this place nor recommend to my colleagues. If I could give zero stars I would one is still too nice utterly disgusted that employee needs a new job if that's her idea of customer service read more

Terrible food, coffee is good. 100 students camped there good luck finding a seat idk why they allow this

Worst customer service ever. They false advertise their prices and then don't adjust them when confronted about the price. Even the manager couldn't have cared less about the false advertising. Avoid at all costs!! read more

Grand opening this weekend was a hit. Lively and friendly staff. Family friendly Elmwood neighborhood. Much needed coffee space as the others on the block are too small to hang all day and study or work from home. My only compliant are the prices!!!!! My oak milk latte was $7.54 without tip. Insane. Nonetheless I'll be back because it's in my neighborhood and I need a place to study. read more

Food/Drink: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Price: 3.5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 TL;DR: This location recently opened and it has much more indoor seating than the location in North Berkeley. The ambiance of the location is quiet, with lots of seating and outlets. It is a good place to get work done. The price of the food and drinks are reasonable. Sencha Green Tea: 4/5; The tea came in a clear pot and a separate cup to drink from. It was very pretty and the tea was what I expected it to be. Nothing spectacular. The pot had enough tea to fill about three cups. I would return to get a drink and bring some work to get done. There is also some outdoor seating as well. read more

Located on the corner of Ashby and College. Street parking. They have a cat on their logo and I bought into it.. It's a nice space. Roomy but echo-y.. from a vegan perspective, I came in one weekend day and brunch wasn't vegan friendly. There was a sign on the sidewalk near the entrance for a Chagaccino so I thought it might at least have an option.. None of the baked goods were labeled vegan either. I had a Matcha with Oat Milk and it was ok, went across the street to Timeless Coffee instead.. read more

Cafenated has the potential to be the best coffee shop in the area! The most outstanding is Cafenated's interior. It's modern and clean, with two rooms of seating, and plenty of natural light. The cafe has great hours for anyone trying to study or do work, although there isn't working wifi just yet. I tried the oat chai latte which as a bit steep in price and only decent. I'm sure my experience with the drinks here will improve as the business and rightful craze about this cafe dies down. read more

Stopped in here with my family on a weekday morning to see if we had discovered a new coffee spot! The service was so horrible; the woman making the drinks was downright RUDE. She stood there staring at the cashier instead of making our drinks. We waited patiently for 5 minutes but then noticed that other customers who came in after us were picking up their drinks. When we inquired about our drinks, her response was to snap, "I'm getting to it!" She then proceeded to make two of the drinks incorrectly; when we told her two of the drinks were "to-go," she rolled her eyes, gave a death-stare to my father and then dumped both drinks sloppily into to-go cups and shoved them at us. Wow. We won't be back. read more

great ambience lots of seating great for a study spot, usually get the vietnamese coffee and it's always good

Cute cafe with lots of pastry options! I got the cappuccino and it was tasty and came out quickly. The coffee cake had chocolate and marzipan and was a perfect sweet treat. Staff were friendly and efficient. I definitely plan to come back and try some of their brunch items in the future! read more

It was warmer than usual out today so I stopped in for a refreshing drink during a walk. I was hoping there'd be some fun iced teas but they only had hibiscus. I opted for an iced strawberry matcha. With a $1 charge for oat milk (I'm lactose intolerant), the total came to $9.10 before tip. And the drink was a dinky 10 or 12 oz. This is by far the most expensive matcha I've had in the Bay Area. It tasted fine but wow, I hope they pay their employees well. I can't justify the price point for myself so I definitely won't be returning. read more

The decor is spot-on attractive! It's clean bright charming and delightful. The lighting is expertly done as well. Their logo is so damn adorable!! The service is sincere, attentive & prompt. It's wonderful to see so many young people working with the public. There manager/supervisor deserved commendation for guiding and training them all so carefully. The food is simply exquisitely prepared. Using the freshest high quality ingredients, the chefs prepare each meal simple perfectly... nothing extravagant but exceptionally well prepared healthy fresh whole ingredients presented well is worth kudos! We are coming back! read more

After trying their breakfast burrito a few months ago, I struggle not to order it every time I stop by for coffee. Great, hearty option to start your day right. Would really recommend al fresco dining out front, but unfortunately there's no umbrellas, so the patio can get very hot. So excited that Cafenated is in Oakland now. Ever since finding their Vine St. location, I've taken every opportunity to enjoy their backyard atrium. Although breakfast prices are quite steep, their coffee is strong and their selection of Starter-made pastries are just what you need for a strong morning start. The new location is bright, open, with plenty of indoor seating options - communal, single, or small group. Only a week since open and people with laptops already look like Cafenated is in their routine. The outdoor options are lacking - a single table for 4 and some narrow bench seating make it tight for outdoor lounging with your pup. read more

Customer service outstanding, food disappointing. Waffles seemed to be store bought and heated in microwave.

I got the strawberry matcha which is really just a matcha with a big scoop of strawberry jam on the bottom. My friend had to spit out the first sip of hers because it was a mouth full of jam. Also the menu said the strawberry matcha was $7 but I was charged $8 (for a 12oz). I asked for a receipt and wasn't given one. I would not come back here, unless you like being overcharged for a cup of jammy gross matcha. read more

Pretty good drinks but kicking customers off the wifi after two hours is completely unreasonable. They've invested in a huge amount of space for a coffee shop, clearly their business model is based around people staying there, but then they force people out when they try and stay and enjoy ambiance. Unbelievable, I can never acutely work here. Its even crowded either. read more

The coffee is great - there's two baristas that really know how to make a latte. The service, however, is terrible. Very rude staff. The young people at the cash register (when you can find someone to take your order) really need some customer service training. No please or thanks yous, won't look at you when you order, when you're paying, they'll look over your shoulder and start talking to people behind you. This happened the last three times I came. Tried to come work here a few times but they blast radio or club hits and there are too many people for a good Wi-Fi connection so I'd just order togo. No cash, CC only. With so many other options in the neighborhood, will probably take it out of the rotation. Souvenir is great for a quiet work space. Coles is great coffee and nice ambience. The two Peets nearby have polite service. read more

Best spot in the neighborhood for a good cup, a pleasant atmosphere and good energy! Love coming here to focus and get some things done!

I been there many times. Ordered a cup of coffee and pastry 7/27/25 at 1 pm. The coffee was so weak this time, complained to the counter person, he says ' sorry , I don't drink coffee', that's the way it is'. Ends up I spent another $5.5 for a cup of drip coffee instead . (Spent like $17 total) They should take care the problem right away , bad service read more

In general, this location has lovely ambiance, and, if you enjoy sweetened tea or coffee, it's a good place for you. If you enjoy unsweetened teas such as a matcha latte, it's not the best and it's expensive. I paid $8 for an unsweetened matcha latte. While I was in the bathroom, the barista realized they were out of unsweetened matcha and decided to make me a sweetened one. My partner even said I likely wouldn't want it and to wait. They made it anyway and told me it's not that sweet, just try it cause I'd likely enjoy it. I took a sip and was disgusted as it's just not my cup of tea. I went up the street to Souvenir Coffee where they have a pretty decent unsweetened matcha latte for $5.25 which I think is more reasonable. For most things, this place is a fine establishment, and I get it's primarily a coffee place. They probably have excellent coffee; however, if you're going to charge $8 for a beverage that costs $1-2 to make at home and is cheaper elsewhere, I don't know if it's unreasonable to set a higher expectation for a cup of tea. Tea drinkers be warned :) read more

First off, the place is great! Great workers, great environment and ambiance is chef's kiss. I went here about 3 weeks ago but decided not to return because their wifi was pretty slow. I woke up early today with the intention of popping in and getting as much work done as I can. Wifi doesn't work. At this point I had already spent $7 on a single drink. Which I had thought to be worth it because I was paying for the ambiance + a cup of coffee. I do want to note that the workers were very helpful! There's only so much they can do so... managers - step it up Pro tip: see if their wifi works first before making a purchase! read more

New Cafenated location! The ambiance is very nice. Very modern look as you can see from the photos. The high ceilings make it very spacious and a good place to work I got an iced latte and it's pretty decent. It has a stronger coffee taste which I like One downside which was actually the case at the previous cafe before cafenated open is that there are a lot of flies. Maybe it's the full-size window and taller doors that invites flies in. Other than that ambiance is great read more

The ambiance of this place is a very cute coffee shop. It definitely has a modern feel and I love that their pastries are from my favorite bakery local to the area. There are two long tables outside for you to enjoy the sun and plenty of room inside for you to work while enjoying a meal. At 10 AM on Sunday morning the wait was nonexistent and your food comes out pretty quickly. The barista's care about making your drink accurately to your order and tastebuds. The team here was so sweet and attentive and the barista was able to remake my drink when the server made a minor error on my order without hesitation. The avocado toast Benedict was very flavorful and the salad had the just the right amount of dressing. The waffle which the server let me know was pretty plain however the fruit was fresh with the exception of some of the blueberries and the whipped cream was the perfect amount of sweetness on top of your waffles. I'm glad we try this place. perfect for a nice brunch date with my best friend. read more

There are some good things about Cafenated Coffee. For example, you can skip it, drive five minutes south on College Avenue, and you are at a lovely Peets (College at Alcatraz). A Peets that just happens to be a few stores down from the much loved Bochik Bagels on one side and the incredible La Farine bakery on the other. As for the not-so-good things... Very cute place. I remember there was a cafe here many years ago when I was a student back in the nineties and then it closed. There's been a few things however this place sticks This place is very nice and clean. The baristas were nice.
